View Full Version : Questions - Re Pin Trading, Kids Club Info and Shoe Bags...

I just have a few more questions for now...

1. This is probably a very stupid question but you know what they say about the only stupid question being one not asked, so here goes.... Regarding the pin trading, is it only Disney pins that people want to trade? My husband is an avid pin collector (even has the Disney Pin Trading bag) but doesn't have disney pins yet. Would it be worthwhile to bring other types of pins?

2. Pillowcase Signing - I've read about this on other threads and am wondering if you bring your own pillowcase or if you purchase one on the ship? Also read about a Tumon and Pumba pillow from the Lab... does anyone have any information on this?

3. Tea With Wendy Darling... My DD is crushed that she can't have tea with me at Palo's. What can I tell her about the Tea With Wendy Darling?

4. Shoe Bags - I've been reading about the shoe bags that hang over the closet door and have been searching for one to no avail. Where can these be bought and what are they called?

Thanks so much, I love this site and can't wait for our cruise!!

I'll answer the questions I can in the order you asked them...

1. It is primarily Disney pins that are traded. In fact, they are the only kinds of pins that can be traded with the CM at the event. You are free to make other trades with the other guests, but Disney pins are the best to have along.

2. People bring pillowcases from home and drop them off at Guest Services to be signed. The special pillows come from the Goofy's Giggle Gala that is held for the kids in the Oceaneer's Club. They decorate them at that event.

3. Tea with Wendy is held 2 (I think) of the days at sea. You will have to get tickets beforehand. The time to pick up tickets will be listed in the Navigator so check that for more details. I've not been to this yet so I can't provide particulars.

4. We found these shoe bags at both WalMart and Target. I would guess that other, similar chain stores would have them too.

Hope this helps.

We just got back a few weeks ago and the shoe bag was a great idea. We got ours at Walmart on the aisle with the clothes hangers and closet organizer stuff (it was on the very top shelf...they had 2 different sizes and one with plastic pockets and one with stretchy net pockets--this one was great because the pockets stretch to a bigger size), but we have also seen them at Target. We hung it over the closet door...so much easier to use than trying to live out of the suitcase...we put everything in it...film, socks, underwear, suntan lotion, camera...all things that we used everyday...plus it saved us a lot of counter space in the bathroom...it didn't look cluttered like our usual trips do. We actually have in hanging on the inside of our linen closet now and use it everyday...we have extra toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, bandaids, etc in it...don't know how we got along without it for so long. As far as the pins...we only saw Disney pins being traded...this has become a tradition at the parks, but was not quite as big of a deal on the ship...we did take ours, but ended up buying more rather than trading because we didn't really have any pins we wanted to get rid of. They did have a trading place every evening and it was neat to walk thru and see what people had. The cast members will trade any Disney pin they have on for whichever one you request from them.

If you are planning on the Tea with Wendy the times for handing out the tickets will be posted in the Navigator but you need to show up 20-30 earlier than the time listed. That is what I did after reading on this board and they actually started handing out the tickets 20 minutes early. There is only a limited number of tickets and they do go fast so be ther early. I only takes a minute to get them so you will not be taking a lot of time out of your day.

The shoe organizer was a great thing to have. We hung ours on the outside of one of the bathroom doors. The room was not cluttered with a lot of little stuff and everything had its place.

If you decide to do the pillow case you can drop it off at Guest Services and they will have the characters sign it and get it back to you the next day. We did a tshirt this way. I was told it was harder for the characters to sign with the markers and plus they can get the ink on the costumes and it is hard to get out. It wasn't as fun hunting as them down but DD did the autograph book too.

This is the first I have read about the pillowcase and dropping it off at guest services.

Can you do that on the Wonder also? Or is it just the Magic?????

I am sure you can do it on the Wonder. I dropped off a T shirt one evening and was told it would be ready about 11am the next day and it was. They had a number of characters sign it that we didn't see on the ship so DD was very excited.

You need to 'set' the ink in the dryer or with an iron before washing.

Do you have to provide them with the markers to sign the pillowcase or do you just leave the pillowcase?

I think my boys would love this!
