Pool Hopping at AKL

I just talked to a dvc member on this board who told me they called member services and that they were told after thec 1st month, dvc members will be able to pool hop at akl. :)

That sounds like good news. When is AKL scheduled to open? Or is it open already? Forgive me for not keeping up with this information.

Mooses thank you for taking the time to post this info. There seemed to be some confusion on the ability of DVC members to pool hop to the AKL pool. I had a feeling that the restriction would lift after the initial opening. I think this will be a great pool for all members. I've read that there will be some sort of viewing deck at which to see the animals. We are staying there this August. I was able to get a great rate and am looking forward to staying at the newest Disney resort.

DVC Dad the AKL is opening in April, if I remember correctly, the 16th. I will be at WDW at that time and hoping to go over for a look around.

Well I'm glad to hear the pool will be available but I did read that if you were not staying at AKL or if you did not have PS for dinner you would not be allowed at AKL. Has anyone heard about this, I was looking forward to going over and having a look.

There has been conflicting information on the pool hoping question at the AKL. I don't think I'd make any definite plans until more definite info is available. At this time I'd say the overwhelming suggestion is that pool hoping won't be allowed and it will take more than one second hand report to convince me otherwise. I sure hope it happens though, sure would be a nice option for we DVC members.

This would be great if that were to happen after a month. We are going in Mid-May and that would coincide with one month after AKL opened.

I enthusiastically await the official word. (but not holding my breath)

This would be a good thing. I have absolutely no desire to eat in those restaurants, and since I'm headed to BWV a pool-hop will be the only way I see AKL.
