Hey all. I just joined and already started posting. It's kind of what I do, but then I thought I should introduce myself. DP and I live in Western NY with our 2 children. We are Disney nuts (DP actually made it the final round of the 2009 moms panel selection (but didn't get selected):sad1:
Our first trip to WDW was in 1996 for our honey moon (the only year we ever made it to Pleasure Island (during "gay days") and apparently the last). We've been back all but 2 years since (the years our 2 children were born). Y'all seem like a fun group. Our next trip is in January. It will be our first time at CBR (we've always stayed at All Stars). One of these days I'll have DP help me with a signature. "See you again soon"

And I may point out, the only reason Rosie is being all prim and proper right now is that another poster has locked her in his luggage, and she is currently posting via Blackberry from the bowels of the Disney Wonder!

You all are also giving me a reason to not pack. don't know why, just can't get into it. Not leaving 'til 1:00 tomorrow but need get kids to school, dogs to kennel, etc. We are going to Miami  but not Disney:sad2:
We are going to Disney in May:woohoo: but not in January like originally planned:sad2:

I think I just like the emoticons. I think I'm procrastinating, but if I leave the DIS boards, what if I miss an emergency post or something? What if I find out there really is a Gay Lifestyle (to Uncle Remus) but I miss the post and can't make my way to the emergency exits? What if I get up and go to the suitcases now...
Don't have too much fun while I'm packing, I don't want to miss anything.

Hello,

yeah, I just need to put in my 2cents (even if nobody wants to listen) Maybet that's what is, no one listens to me at home:rotfl: so I can pretend there are people out there who care what I have to say.:)
Seriously this is a fun group and I have felt total welcome even though I'm a newbie.

Hey C&G's Mama, we are kinda your neighbor too, we live in Niagara Falls, ON but DH works in Rochester, he has to stay over night there Tuesdays and Wedesdays every week. We are going to WDW in January too (24th - 28th). We are going with our neighbors/friends and we are staying at SSR. When are you going?

Hey, almost neighbor. I went to NU so had 4 years in the Falls. As an aside drove through Buffalo to Fredonia yesterday afternoon, Lake Effect, it was awful.
We are in Charlotte, NC right now en route to Miami. We originally were going to stop Orlando from the 13th through the 15th. But decided to take advantage of Buy 4 get 3 free for 1/19 thru 1/26 at CBR, our first time not at a Value, so we would have overlapped, but I had to reschedule because of work to the end of April. But DP said yesterday, we have to stop somewhere in between Charlotte and Miami on Monday, why not Disney. Why not? As I'm pretty cheap and we're only staying 1 night we are Staying at All Star Music (we usually stay at All Stars but I had wanted to avoid as this is Pop Warner week). And we have passes to use so we will leave here REALLY early Monday. Have Monday to spend in a park. Get up early Tuesday spend a few hours and then head to Miami. I am happy now. We've never done a quick "spur of the moment" trip to WDW before so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully it will hold us over 'til April.

Have fun!

Yeah, Friday was bad. I was out Friday night and it was the worst I've ever been in - 0 visibility, the windshield iced up and the wipers were coated with ice. And that's coming from a life long Buffalonian so you know it was bad!

Hey Saxton, have you heard anything about "Mickey Mouse's Birthday Party" at Shea's? Last time I was there to see the "RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR" the program mentioned something about that, I want to know more.

DP is from Watertown. I guess Rochester has spoiled us. We don't get it quite as bad as you folks that live on the East End of the Lakes. We said we don't remember driving through any thing that bad since 2000 when our daghter was an infant and we were driving home from Watertown after Christmas. We think the plow was behind us as the snow was deep enough that we were "plowing" with the bottom of the van. Fortunately we didn't end up in a ditch like many people did. And fortunately, people were going slow enough that they didn't get hurt. But let's face it, if we didn't get out in the snow, we wouldn't get out (though I'd prefer to stay away when it's that bad).

Keep warm. Glad to hear it's sunny today.

You're in luck - I was supposed to be in WDW right now so I thought I had deleted the email (I would have been coming home on the 13th). I had season's tickets for Shea's Broadway series & I still get emails from them so let me know if you ever need any info.

TLPL - in case you didn't see it I just found this on the Buffalo News website:

Attention, Mickey Mouse fans. You won’t be able to spend a day this weekend with the lovable cartoon imp, after all. “The Celebration of Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse,” originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed until early next year.
Shea’s Performing Arts Center and the Buffalo International Film Festival said unforeseen circumstances forced the postponement. A new date will be scheduled as soon as possible, organizers promised.
The celebration, which includes films on their original 35 mm studio prints and the first screening of “Fantasia” in Buffalo since 1990, highlights the contributions of Buffalonians Ralph Kent and Pat Powell to the Disney legend.

Well we are back to the cold. We did get our quick trip in to Disney. It was very surreal. We left Charlotte at 4:45 Monday morning and by 2:05 in the afternoon we were in our room at All Star Music. (DP's the driver, she doesn't like to stop). It was pretty cool to go for a quick trip. We did Epcot on Monday and MK on Tuesday. MK was great until we got to Fantasy Land, I forget how crazy that can be. But the rest was great. DD and I did Splash Mountain and Big Thunder while DP and DS did Pirates, Jungle Cruise etc. It was a nice tease for May. Hope everyone out there is well.

Thanks:) Well at least I get some excercise this time of year. Our driveway's too narrow to hire a "plow guy" and I'm too cheap, and it doesn't seem worth it to get a snow blower. So today, I'll shovel, bake cookies, shovel, bake cookies, .....:rotfl:
