7 month window at VWL

We have ressies for 9 days in December for BWV (home resort) but need to switch to late September. We REALLY want to stay at VWL. Does anyone know if this is realistic at the 7 month window? Does it really make a difference to book one day at a time? Any guidance would be appreciated.

What you might do is call for the first day and ask at that time what avialability looks like going forward. If they tell you it looks wide open, you won't need to worry. Someone recently reported that VWL was still wide open for August even though the 7 month window is already past.

VWL is not sold out yet so there is likely to be availability. I think the problem in getting reservations will be when VWL is near being sold out.

We booked 1 week at the VWL for June, 2001 around 3 weeks ago and had no problem. There seemed to be plenty of rooms available at the time. I doubt you would have a problem trying to book for September.

I agree with the poster who said to ask MS what availability looks like... I have found that usually they are quite candid about how many rooms are left although some make the disclaimer that there is no guarantee that availability will remain the same.

We booked a studio durning the 7 month window with no probelm.
When we remembered we had 50 points to use or lose we changed to a 2 BR at WLV and still had no probelm.

I called just yesterday to change our reservations from OKW to VWL. It was only 3 months out so I wondered if anything would be available. No problems what so ever even at 3 months out. I remember BWV used to be like that in the beginning too.

Yep, I called yesterday and they said it would be no problem in September. Thanks for all the help! We are THRILLED! Bruce especially fell in love with the Lodge saying it was much more relaxing (I think I keep him too busy on these WDW vacations!)

That's great you got your dates!! We have an OKW vacation planned for early December, and I am really hoping to be able to switch the whole reservation!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

That was our original plan Chris, but a January trip to Puerto Vallarta means we are going to WDW sooner than expected (DARN!) I would love to know if this works for you in December! Please e-mail me when you try, that is if you remember in 3 more months;)
