Ok, so now we just planned our trip to Vero beach for spring break. We've never been before. Can anyone tell me about the restaurants at the resort? What do you recommend? Not recommend? Do we need reservations ahead of time like at Disney? Any other good restaurants nearby? It'll be DH, myself, DD7 and DD4. Both girls are used to going out to eat, so we'd like to try some nicer restaurants too. Thanks!

Ocean Grill. It was very nice, right on the ocean with a great ambiance. My dh wants to go back to VB just to eat there again.
The front desk will provide you with a list and directions if you ask them for one.
I know a lot of people here have other favorites as well.

We've been to VB three times in the last four years , we go in August. I don't consider VB to be the mecca of good restaurants, WDW is a thousand times better IMHO. We ate at the Ocean Grill and found that it smelled musty, looked less than cleanand found the food was just okay and overpriced. I know many people love this restaurant and I don't want to upset them but I guess it boils down to where you like to dine. Compare Ocean Grill to Carrabas, Bone fish Grill, and the Crystal Palace at MK and you'll get alot better food and more bang for your buck. VB is fantastic, have a wonderful time.

We just got back from VB and really enjoyed the Squid Lips in Sebastian. Great food, casual atmosphere and a good band! The next night we tried Mr. Manatees in Vero Beach and were not at all impressed. No atmosphere, bland food and bad service.
We also enjoyed the solo performer in the Green Cabin room. We had brandy and played checkers while enjoying his music. The table next to us was a mom and dad with two girls. They were playing cards and having hot chocolate. Very nice venue.

Has anyone tried Oriente at Gloria Estefan's hotel? http://www.costadeste.com/dining/dining.asp
I'm anxious to see what this might be!

What an awesome hotel!! I only drove past it, but its on my list to visit next VB trip! Post a report if you do eat there. JMHO, but I was very disappointed in Squid Lips. Would recommend staying in the town of Vero Beach to eat.:goodvibes

In VB one can enjoy amazing beach and water sports. Some of the good restaurants (http://www.boorah.com/restaurants/best-of/25763/FL/Vero-Beach.html) and resorts there are Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Oceanside, Howard Johnson Inn, and Disney´s Vero Beach Resort which is a fantastic place as it is located just two hours east of the Walt Disney World.:woohoo:
