we have a very large group of people going on the 30th and will be eating and early dinner at our condo but we would like to go out for a few drinks before fireworks. my question is, for 15 of us, where is the best place to go have a few drinks (crowded or not) and then watch fireworks (even if we need to take the bus to one of the parks or something). i was thinking about 2 different places - the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk (can you see fireworks from there) or the Outer Rim Lounge which is at the Contemporary. What does everyone else think? Thanks so much for any help you can give.

ok, since yesterdays posting, i have found out that the outer rim no longer exists. so that leaves the ESPN club at the boardwalk...what about anything in downtown disney-west...what are those places like? and can we see fireworks from there? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL!!!!!!

I don't believe you can see the fireworks while having a drink at the ESPN club. You would need to go outside to enjoy the fireworks. You can get drinks at Atlantic Dance and view the fireworks from the balcony. Atlantic Dance does not open until 9pm. You can get drinks at Jellyrolls(10.00 cover). They open at 7pm but again you would need to go outside to see the fireworks.
You can also get great drinks at The Tambu lounge in the Polynesian and then take them out on the beach and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

is staying at the wilderness lodge...there is a bar there, can we take our drinks outside there and if so, is there somewhere there that we can see the fireworks?
you will not get to see all of the fireworks from the boardwalk area because of the way Epcot is set up, you would get to see the high things. Though, at JR I think it was a better view there than out on the bridge. There also is a restraunt there, Big River Brewery(?)... might try that (next door to JR). And at Wilderness Lodge there is a possible problem with the trees (but I do not know for sure) but go out to the boat launch area.
For a good view of MK the Poly, GF and Cont. have the views to see them, when not in a park.
