I doubt they are getting anything new, not with the economy the way it is, and with Crush and Gusher being so new. I do know when you pull into Disney on EPCOT drive you can see a very large crane in the park itself. Probably just some major rehab, the park is almost 20 years old now.

Due to the waves pounding so much over the past years, the floor of the Lagoon is actually broken. That is why back in June they discontinued the morning Surf Lessons and the after-hours Surf Parties. Also, the maximum waves were only four feet for the remainder of the year rather than the normal six foot.
The wave pool had to be drained and the bottom completely torn out and be re-built to stronger specifications. The fact thatr it takes time for concrete to properly cure is the major delay reason.

I heard from a few CM's over the summer that there was a sink hole that caused the problems in the wave pool....not sure if it was true or not.

That must have been tough to have TL out of service during the summer season!

Yeah- imagine Blizzard Beach. Twice the amount of people there as usual just about.

They still used it until the season was over but it didn't have the same appeal as far as wave pools were concerned.

I didn't even know TL had been closed. I was there in May, before I finished my CP. Fun times.
Hoping they finish up fixing the wave pool soon.

I've seen the crane too, and wondered what it was for. I knew the pool had to be rebuilt, but I didnt think they'd need a giant crane for that?
