Can anyone tell me how the Candlelight procession works at DL? I heard it's only one weekend, is that true? Which night is it? Is it a ticketed event? How much are the tickets? Where is it held? How/when can you get tickets?

Thanks,
Kim

Last year it was held in the Fantasyland theater (furthest part of Fantasyland, right before you hit Toontown, across from Small World). Typically, the processional goes for 2 days, and is on either Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday depending on the year. (It usually goes between December 8-13, depending on which days of the year will fall on a Sunday/Monday.) They have a large choir, and a guest speaker. Typically, tickets are only available for the Sunday event, and there are a limited # of seats, as per those who fit into the theater. (Note: the theater is open air, but under a canopy - the seats are metal benches). All guests can see the actual processional as it makes its way through main street and fantasyland to the theater, but tickets are limited for those who see the event itself. In the past, tickets were passed out (limited to 4 per person) in various locations on main street, to first come first serve in the morning. If you are interested, I would advise you call Disneyland guest relations at : (714) 781-7290
Hope this helps

Thank you Tina for the info! We've been to WDW in Dec. to see the CP and don't want to miss it this year. We'll be at DL from the 6-15 so hopefully we'll be ther on the right day. I'll try to call and get more info as the time gets closer. Kim

<font color=navy>For the past few years, CP has been held the 2nd weekend in December, and though I never heard of it being on a Monday night, I'll defer to tinagirl's experience.

We saw it last year on Sunday night. I had to get in line at 5:30 in the morning, and there were already people there for the tickets, even though they didn't start giving them away until 8am. The first person in line got there at 3am. Now, they do give 4 tickets per person, but there can be a family of four & they each get four tickets, for 16 tickets. So, you can't really estimate how many tickets will be given out. By 8:20 they had given out all the tickets, and never made it to Main Street. As more and more people learn about the Candlelight Processional, more people get in line for the tickets.

Just so you know, Monday nights are very rare. The only time in recent memory that this was done was in 2000. Mostly it is Saturday/Sunday. But no matter what, aim for Sunday, as the other day, they typically don't offer tickets..no matter what day that day is.
