How do I call AKL if I want to get a cake or something for our room. Jasons bday is the 2nd of May and our ann. is the 6th of June. So I thought it might be a cute idea to order something. He really likes chocolate covered strawberries~

The cake hotline gets you to the Boma and Jiko restaurant cake line when you follow the AKL prompt. However, they can only do the sara lee premade cake that you ask for at the podium, a mickey head cake, or a zebra cake with amaretto filling, like a zebra dome. The second and third cakes are around $48 plus tax and gratuity. If you want a special cake you have to get the number from someone for the special cakes. The specialty cakes are made somewhere else in Disney and delivered to AKL. One of the disney bakeries makes them. There might be a delivery charge but I'm not sure.

The number the lady at the cake hotline gave me for specialty cakes for AKL is 407-560-3551. You'll talk to the chef and they'll tell you what they can do. The mini wedding cake is $25 and I know it's available at GF and Boardwalk Bakery but I don't know about AKL.

I worked on the basement for 3 hours this morning. I am having a huge garage sale when we get back from WDW. I found hmm...a tub og clothes my sil had given me for Austin. Oops! Luckily he is just getting into the size. So I came up and put everything I thought we needed into suitcases. I am sure I will re-pack next weekend with my checklist. Wow! 2 weeks and we will be celebrating mothers day at WDW. Can't wait to see you at AKL!

AHHHH I just can't believe it. I'm getting so anxious. I'll be able to really get excited after my last day of school on Wednesday. I've got 3 papers, 3 discussion posts, 10 reading log entries, and a final to get down by tomorrow and Wednesday. Mom's got Tyson so I'm going to get to work!

I'm glad you found the stuff before it was too small for him! I decided I would get all of the suitcases out and start getting other bags together while I'm cleaning up Thursday and Friday. My brother is graduating from College so we are having a huge party Saturday night! There will be about 55 people!

I really don't know about the CS for kids at Mara. I have seen posts where people said they didn't like one thing on the platter so they had it substituted with more of something else. I would think you could do the same thing with a child's platter. Don't you think? Did you do the dining plan?

I've been calling disney dining everyday to get an Ohana dinner reservation on May 12. They are completely booked the whole week!!!! I'm so upset. Brad changed his mind and wants to eat there. I have Chefs de France right now. Is it good?

Don't give up. I had totally given up and then someone (hmm) convinced me to try again and yesterday we got into CM. I also called everyday, twice a day for almost a month to get into Ohana. It was my 1st reservation and of course the only one they couldn't reschedule when the lovely CM canceled them all by mistake. We got lucky finally and eat there on the Thursday night at 6:45. Too bad we couldn't just add you to our table!

A mexican tourist at Disney World this week had swine flu!!! I want to go but I'm scared we will get sick. I'm so scared. Should I be concerned?

I will not cancel our trip unless Disney closes it's doors and I seriously doubt that will happen. LOL

Exactly :thumbsup2 Bloomberg and several NYC doctors made press conferences today saying to be careful, but that it wasn't as bad as a lot of people think and there's no need to worry. I think the media's blowing it way out of proportion!

I don't think that the swine flu is something to seriously worry about, but I do think that we will be washing our hands and using Purell A LOT more than we normally do, which is a lot because I am sort of a germophobe!!:rotfl: I'm mainly concerened about Emily because she comes home from Disney with a cold EVERY TIME!:sick:

Thanks ya'll! I keep watching the news and then they mentioned Disney and I just freaked. LOL I've worried myself all day. I even called WDW to see what they are doing to be precautionary about it. Of course he said what I knew he would which is that they are following WHO and CDC's recommendations. Then he referred me to the CDC website. LOL I wanted him to tell me that now someone wipes down the rails, doors, etc. with Lysol every 30 minutes! LOL :rotfl2:

HEY, maybe more ADRs will open up and you can get Ohana :thumbsup2. Now, on the serious side it is a concern, just be sure you use good hand hygiene and wipe tables and so forth down before sitting down to eat. We need to come in contact with certain germs to build immunity but humans have a hard time fighting disease that originates in animals because our systems are different. They are really hyping this for some reason because approximately 36,000 people die annually from the flu and flu related illnesses.

So I decided to call my pediatrician this morning and ask about the swine flu and going to Disney. I knew he would understand why I am asking and I knew he'd tell me to still go to Disney because he is a Disney fanatic too and takes his family at least twice a year. I just love my pediatrician! LOL So his nurse called me back (She is super nice and easy to talk to. Love her!) and she said that he said don't cancel the trip just be more careful. Wash our hands and use hand sanitizer often and don't put our hands near our face. Keep away from people who seem to be sick as best you can. They said to just take those precautions and we should be fine. She said that if he gets sick when while we are down there with anything..virus, flu, cold, etc. to call them and they will walk us through what to do and where to go. I am so blessed to have such a great dr. and nurse to answer my questions!

I don't know if that room even exists. LOL But I hope to at least be on arusha with a regular tub. I'd love a king bed though.

Mostly the king bed rooms have the roll in shower. Last time I brought the baby tub with us but Tyson is too big for it now. If you are getting a room with two queen beds then you should be fine with a normal tub. King bed rooms are handicap accessible.

Yay!!! All I can talk about is Disney to everyone!!! I helped my aunt find restaurants to eat at while she's down there at the end of May. She asked me if I want to go back to Disney with them. She got an offer from Disney for $700 for one adult and the child is free and that includes dining, room and tickets. I could ride with them. It would only be $700 for us to go back!!! I wish I could. I would miss Brad really bad though. I couldn't do that to him.

I cleaned house and I hope to keep it clean so I don't have to do anything more next Thursday.

The suitcases are out and all of our clothes are in them so that I know what to iron.

My brother's graduation party was tonight. Actually the party is still going on but Tyson had to go to bed. I hear them up there laughing and yelling. Ha Ha I love my brother's friends. They're awesome. However, I didn't realize my brother was friends with a guy that I went on one lunch date with in the early part of the same semester I started dating Brad. It wasn't really a real date. I mean it was but we met there in separate cars and it went sour really fast. I found out in conversation that he was an atheist so that was the end of that! LOL Anyway he walked in and I about died. I hadn't seen him since 2004. I LOL (in my head) and ran to tell Brad. He died laughing.

The cake was amazing. I'll post pics.

Tyson had fun with my best friend's little boy. I want to post pics but I don't like posting pics of other peoples kids without their permission.

Lastly, I changed around some ADRs. Here's the new schedule

I canceled Chef Mickey, Cape May and Boma breakfast because they are buffets. I am really concerned about getting sick and I seem to always get sick after eating at a buffet. However, I know Boma is a buffet and I'm contemplating passing on it this year. We always eat here on our anniversary night but I'm just nervous. I may try to book Jiko and pay for one of our other ADRs OOP.

What should I do? Eat at Boma because it's my fave restaurant at Disney or choose somewhere new to eat for our anniversary?

Just wanted to let you know that the tourist actually didn't have H1N1, so hopefully that will ease your mind!

Just remember washing hands a lot and hot water!!

I am trying not to get bothered by the hype around this thing...especially since the outbreak was in Mexico which is definitely not the most sanitary place in the first place. We will be fine!!

Well we have all of Adr's and I am not going to change them because of the outbreak. I had to work to hard to get them all rescheduled. We are just going to wash our hands, wipe down tables, etc. Plus we can always call in for Tamiflu if you feel anything coming on. I would still do Boma if you love it. Just wipe your hands with sanitizer after touching the laddles and spoons etc if that makes you feel better. I wish they would relax a little, when they showed the numbers on CNN this morning they said maybe they are blowing it out of proportion. Many areas of Mexico City do not even have running water which makes it easy to spread germs.

I don't blame you! I have had a hard time changing things around! :guilty:
But I'm happy with what we have!! I'm actually very happy. LOL We decided to eat at Spoodles because we ate there only once and it was on our honeymoon. It was one of our favorite meals that week. Spoodles will be gone on our next trip so this will be the last time we eat there. We eat there our first night. We'll go pick up our cake at Boardwalk Bakery after we eat at Spoodles. What time does BB close?

I added Tokyo dining back because I love it there!!!! I wasn't feeling Teppan Edo. They don't have fried rice! LOL I love the tempura chicken dinner at TD and it comes with seaweed salad! MMMMMMMMM :love: I think Tyson will eat tempura chicken. If not we'll get him something when we leave. He can just snack on stuff I am bringing for him for the park. I'm not ordering him dinner at TD. He can eat chicken off my plate. He doesn't eat rice so if they don't have fries or a fruit cup there is no need to get him a meal. I do want to get him a meal in that little monorail train tray.(I know it's not a monorail though. It's like the bullet train I think) We'll see.

We did get Jiko and canceled Boma. Our Jiko ADR is Wed at 7:55. Should I use my 2 TS points a piece for Jiko and pay for Ohana breakfast OOP?

Alot of people are saying don't take him because he may interrupt others around me who are spending a lot of money and want a quiet dinner. I completely agree that if Tyson gets cranky we should take him out for a cool down but it's like one person said...if they didn't want kids eating there they wouldn't have a kids meal. I just wanted to know if we'll be the only people with a toddler.

I agree...plus it is Disney after all. Not the place I would go to for a child free vacation if that was what I wanted. Jiko sounds yummy. I switched, too! 7:30!!! Jason and I were talking and he doesn't like buffets. So we are going to go with just using our 7 TS and not doing any extras. We can always do Mara oop or CS at other locations for more meals. I think we will be fine, though.

I would have done the same thing you did. That lady was rude. I am a nice person but I have my grandpa's fiery personality/temper. LOL If people tick me off I have no problem telling them, especially if they are strangers. Now it's harder with family LOL. Here's something funny..on facebook you can rank your friends personalities etc. My top personality trait is that I'm the toughest. I didn't really think I was tough but I think it comes from years of being picked on. You got to stand up for yourself eventually. It just took me until college to do it. LOL OK sorry that was OT.

I plan on taking my meal with me if he gets really angry. I think he'll be fine though. Friday we went to my favorite restaurant, Fish and Pig, and he had fell asleep in the car after getting his hair cut. He woke up when we got there and was completely fine the whole meal. He kept asking to feed the ducks and we said after we eat and that satisfied him. We took him to the deck to feed the ducks afterwards. I was so proud of him. On a side note, Oprah visited Fish and Pig when she came here to film her Favorite things episode the Christmas of 2007. I think she tried alligator. It's so good.

Ok so I have to tell a story about Oprah. This was during my preservice in an elementary school. I kept texting Brad to see if he knew where Oprah was because I knew she was touring downtown Macon that day. I was getting reports from different people in the school too. So he finally texts me and says his brother saw her at a shoe store that is owned by Otis Redding's wife I think. So I clock out and drive downtown. I park and pass by the original Nuway restaurant (the best hotdog's ever) and I walk down the street to the crowd. She walks out of the shoe store and someone yells "She's going to Nuway!" I'm in the back so I start running! I'm trying to get in the store before she gets there. I didn't make it before her but I'm first in line. The sercurity makes us make a path. We stand there for 20 minutes while Oprah has some Nuway chili dogs. She finally comes out and I smile so big and wave at her. She reaches out and shakes my hand!!!!! AHHHHHHH I was so happy. So I call everyone saying Oprah shook my hand! Later that week my friend says one of her friends on myspace took my picture with Oprah and she copied it and emailed it to me. Here's the pic:

I agree...plus it is Disney after all. Not the place I would go to for a child free vacation if that was what I wanted. Jiko sounds yummy. I switched, too! 7:30!!! Jason and I were talking and he doesn't like buffets. So we are going to go with just using our 7 TS and not doing any extras. We can always do Mara oop or CS at other locations for more meals. I think we will be fine, though.

I'm so glad we'll all be there around the same time! I decided what I'm getting! The filet with mac and cheese..Yum!! I'm planning on getting zebra domes that morning so that we'll have them in the room for later that night. That's the only thing I'll really miss from Boma.

I think ya'll will be fine. If you need to add some meals just go to CS and pay OOP.

Awesome! You should read the thread I started on the restaurant board to ask about taking a toddler to Jiko. Alot of people are saying don't take him because he may interrupt others around me who are spending a lot of money and want a quiet dinner. I completely agree that if Tyson gets cranky we should take him out for a cool down but it's like one person said...if they didn't want kids eating there they wouldn't have a kids meal. I just wanted to know if we'll be the only people with a toddler.

OMGosh! Poop on the people that said no! I don't care if people get annoyed with my kid while they eat. They are at Disney for gosh sakes! There will be kids EVERYWHERE!!! Generally, Emily is very good when we go out to eat and I always make sure she has little things to play with or color. I wouldn't worry about it, besides Emily, Jenny and Austin will be there too!!

Ha Ha! Yesterday I got my last minute shopping done. Today I got my eyebrows waxed and bought some cute headbands and opi nail plish at Ulta. Now I'm sitting with Tyson on the couch. I think Brad's about to go get us something to eat. I'm packing the clothes tonight. All the other stuff is sitting in the kitchen to be put in the car.

Here's the plan...

Friday we are going to my brothers graduation and then we are all going to lunch. My grandmama is going to watch Tyson after lunch so that we can do any last minute things. We will go pick up Tyson around 6:30. Brad needs to be asleep by 7 pm. Mom is going to watch Tyson and try to keep him up and exhaust him as best she can. When he's super sleepy, I'll put him to bed probably around 11 pm. Then I'll go ahead and get ready. I won't be able to sleep. We will leave around 2 am.

So we're home! We got home around 2 am this morning. LOL we went back to AKL last night to get our luggage and decided to go to Mara to get Tyson something to eat. That was like at 8 pm. LOL We were on the road by 8:30.
