Nikon Coolpix S550 or Canon Powershot SD790IS

Can someone help me decide between these two cameras? Or maybe recommend another comparible point and shoot? I'm looking in the $250 or less price range.....would really prefer to be closer to $200 if possible.
I already own a Canon S3 IS, which I love. It has all the bells and whistles, but I am looking for something smaller and more convenient to carry around.

Hi,
I just checked the consumer report for you and I didn't see that they've tested that particular Canon model. But most of the canons were given a favorable rating. As for the Nikon, it was given a favorable rating, but the image stabilization wasn't the best.

By the way, the top rated for a subcompact camera was the Canon Powershot sd1100elph and Sony cybershot DSC-w300, but the sony was over $300.

Nik's mom.... thank you so much for that info! I stopped at a few electronics stores last night and in each store the salesman told me to go with the Canon.

For that price range and that type of camera I would go with the Canon too. They make a really good p-n-s camera with decent capabilities. :)

I have a Nikon CoolPix and love it. I don't think you can go wrong with it!
