The Car Seat Plan

OK, when we get to MCO we are renting a car with Alamo. I know I can rent a booster seat from them for $50. If I bring mine and check it, I get charged extra on the airline. I was trying to figure out if there was a cheaper way to get the booster seat. WalMart sells them for $15. If I fly with it, I paid $30. If I rent it, I paid $50. Any suggestions?

Yeah the airline should let you gate check it just like a stroller. I saw about five of them on my Air Tran flight in October.
