Close grocery store??

Hi Everyone,

We are leaving on thursday for Animal Kingdom Villas! :cool1:

Can anyone tell me where the closest grocery store would be??

We always go to the Publix close to Gaylord Palms - the address is 2925 International Drive. It is about a 5 minute drive from Boardwalk, it is clean and the staff are very friendly. From AKL, you would follow Osceola Pkwy east, then turn right at I-Drive. The store is on the left in about a half mile. I think it's open until 11 pm.

Ask for directions at the front desk, there is a "sneaky" way to that grocery store. I never knew the road I traveled on existed.

We've gone to the Winn-Dixie on 535, which is probably closest for OKW and SSR (take a left onto 535 from the Hotel Plaza Blvd. entrance - the road that goes by DTD, its about 3/4 of a mile on the right), but for AKV there are much closer on 192. We haven't been down there yet (we will in April), but there is a Publix near the junction with the new 429 toll road, and all sorts of others as well.

Coming out of AKL/AKV, there should be a right called "West Access Road", which I THINK you can take (I'm just looking at Google Earth right now). Take that straight to 192, and take a right, and the Publix is a short distance on the right. Everything else, including a Winn-Dixie, can be reached by taking a left on 192.

Hi,

We like the Winn-Dixie at 11957 S Apopka Vineland Rd Orlando FL. It's about 9 miles from AKL (15 minutes) and prices are very reasonable. FWIW, there is also an 'adult beverage' store located next door.
