My parents came to my house for thanksgiving weekend. Dad came with bronchitis and had to go to redi-med, and mom left with some sort of virus that caused her to puke last night.

What is it with people bringing sicknesses to me??? Jeez.

Food is a great hijack topic. When White Christmas is over, I'm making ginger bread cookies for the first time so wish me luck.

If I don't have molasses can I substitute honey?

Hey, I didn't realize we had a moderator from Scotland. My boss if from Scotland originally. A little town (he claims) named Edzel.

Now maybe we can move from food to drink. I'll have a single malt, neat of course. :drinking1

I could give the stuff away - DH gets bottles of the stuff given to him as Christmas presents by clients. I actually counted 25 bottles of Malt in our garage yesterday :lmao:

BTW Edzell does exist - about 100 miles away from me . I had never heard of it but google never lies !!

Since I will be solo this upcoming Mousefest trip, I decided to buy a couple of old classic movies I have always wanted to see, BUT NEVER AM ALONE TO GET TO DO IT, and take one with me. ;)

My two choices are: Dr. Shivago or Lawrence of Arabia

Which one should I take and spend a quiet evening watching?????? :lovestruc

While a sincere question, this is all in the good name of hi-jacking.

And if it does matter, what if the frosting is different such as chocolate frosting on a yellow cake?
Oh yes, what if its cheesecake?

2) Yes it does matter, always chocolate over sponge, except if it has very good frosting
3) YES! Us chocolate lovers get confused and upset!
3) Cheesecake is only good if its flavored, plain cheesecake is gross

I will be (of 5.15am tomorrow morning, so about midnight for you guys) will no longer be a teenager! I am hitting the big 2-0, apparently it all goes down hill from here!

Ahhhh Child. Twenty is not the point where it all goes down hill; especially for girls. [As an aside, if you were a guy, then I'd agree.] You're still getting better. :cake:

I have already had my birthday party whilst at Uni, I had a bright pink Disney Princess cake, bought for me by my best friend in the world ever! We decided against 20 candles as it would be a fire hazard!

I was going to post a picture with me blowing them out, but I look too bad in it. I may re-consider after celebratory drinks tomorrow! :rotfl:

I missed your BIRTHDAY????????

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Speaking of cinnamon rolls...I got a Cinnabon brand chocolate turtle in my stocking this year and it was KILLER!!! Who knew the combination of chocolate, cinnamon and caramel would blend so well!! Is it rich? Yeah!! More like decadent!!! I'm glad I had only one though because I could've made a meal of those things!

I'm re-considering booking a late flight home when returning from WDW trips.

Is there a story behind this? I know you had some weather you had to fly into yesterday. How did your flight go?

Because of a domino effect our flight home was delayed ~2 hours. Instead of getting back in the house around 11 (as would have been the case with the scheduled times), it was 1 am. Since I usually have to get up at 5:30 to head for the office that was severely going to hamper my beauty sleep. Decided I'd better work from home instead.

Oh, the flight itself was fine. Val & I got upgraded (both directions).

Yeah, I always do the last flight thing, too. When I was coming home from MF, I had the last flight on JetBlue, which was supposed to land about 10:30. I had to catch the last bus home from the airport, which would have been 11:25. But since flights were delayed, I would have landed just around 11:20!

Luckily, the earlier flight had been delayed, too, and there was room for 1 more on that one, and JUUUUUUST enough time to run full-speed back through the airport, ride the monorail, go back through security, get on another monorail, and run to another gate to catch that flight home!
