I am doing a four day land package and then a three day cruise. The cruise is one of the those $99 dollar deals from the winter so my land is not connected to the cruise. Can I still somehow use my key from the land and use it for the cruise if I request it and avoid the long lines at check-in??? Or does it have to be one big package for that to be an option

I'm not sure about the first part of your question, but I would think that you'd have to make all of your reservations through the cruise line to have one check-in. Which brings me to the second part of your question. I've never found the lines at the port to be very long. There are many check-in desks and at most I've waited 5-10 minutes to check in. As long as you have your docs filled out prior to arriving at the port, check-in is very easy and quick, I think.

No, the only way you can use the key from the land portion on the ship is if you have a land/sea package.
But as Senor Ferrari said, the port lines are not bad at all...in 7 cruises I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes for an open desk to check in.
Enjoy your cruise! :)

I am doing 5 nights at the B.C. Nov 5-10 then a 4 day cruise. We did it separately and were told we could not get the one key but I heard that cruise check in isn't bad.
good luck

Check-in desk is ok, maybe shorter for us non-USA citizens, but it's that long long line to board the ship that's the problem
