Just wondered if any UK DVC members had rented out points (particularly to US people) and how they found the process.

I have put some points up for rent on the rent/trade board and have only had enquiries from the US.

If you have done this, how did you handle payment? I am suggesting Paypal. Also did you do a formal contract/agreement?

Thanks.

I have rented out points to both US and UK members, mainly US. I prefer to use Paypal but one member wasn't able to access Paypal so I accepted a cheque and waited for it to clear before mailing the confirmation, and asked for the balance a few days earlier than normal. Yes I drafted a contract, but I'm not sure it would have stood up legally.

I may have been lucky, but I had absolutely no problems at all - in about 6-8 rentals.

This thread discusses Effective DVC Point Rental Agreements (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=895654). Hope you find it helpful.

Thanks for that Jim.

I had already read that but it is mainly US DVC'ers that have responded and I was looking for a UK point of view.

Hi there,

I have been looking to pick up some points, how much are you asking for them. I agree, it's hard when trying to rent out points across the pond.
