I've never been to any of the DVC party events as we're never at WDW at the right time. Next week, we'll actually be there on Friday and could maybe go to the Merry Mixer. We're at Animal Kingdom that day but we're usually done by 3 pm and could get to the DVC party before we go to our Hoop de doo dinner. Is the Merry Mixer worth going to? It will be me, Dh, my mom a niece and a nephew. Also, if we go, can we park at the BCV to walk over to the party and not have to go through Epcot to get there?

We'll be there next Friday too. We're planning on attending for a little while and continuing on through the IG for a World tour. :lmao:

I'll be in my lime green DIS shirt unless I forget to take it. Do say hello.

We aren't going to be at WDW this year but in past years we've always enjoyed our time at the Merry Member Mixer. It is a great place to meet up with fellow DISers, enjoy some Christmas cookies, a photo with the characters and then a cute little present on the way out.

We've done the mixer and enjoyed it. It's fun.

And yes, you can park and walk over from BCV.

At Epcot, I'm usually in my seagulls "mine, mine, mine" tshirt! :)
We'll be easy to spot if we're there... my mom will be the one in the blue transport wheel chair.

Thanks

Rambler5678, It is located on the Beach Clud side of the IG, and takes place from 3-5. By the way, glad you liked my signature pic.

As far as I'm concerned, the Merry Mixer is an event not to be missed. Yummy cookies, cold drinks, pin trading, entertainment for the little ones and the opportunity to take pictures with the characters. It's a great time!:santa:

The Merry Mixer is fun! I would recommend taking the boat from BC or BWV as the MM is outside of the International Gateway and is a LONG way from the bus stop which drops you off at the main gate. Then it is a hike to get there.

We are going on 12/26 and will be making it our afternoon's activity. We fly in that day and won't have to use a park ticket to go.

Free cookies and a photo op with the characters! We are looking forward to it.

 We are going to the mixer on the 5th if we make to the world in time. We are driving from the north and leaving on the 4th, so it will be really close. But this will be our first mixer and we are extremely excited about. We will finally be able to talk Disney without being looked at like we have six heads :lmao: We can't wait to hopefully meet some of you our fellow disers :hyper2:

If we don't make it, we're definitely going to be there on the 12th. So look for us, we will be wearing our permanent grins.

A boat from BC? It's about a 2 minute walk from the BC!

We are hoping to stop at the Mixer next Friday (the 5th). It is our departure day but our flight is late so we are thinking we'll have time to stop by before returning to SSR to catch the Magic Express to the airport. It was fun the last time we did it. DD got a couple of nice pins. We have our ornaments that were the gift and use them every year. We also got a great Christmas card picture. Its definitely worth a visit if you have the time.

We've never been to one (haven't been DVC members very long) so I might suggest to DH that we go. :) So warning... silly question coming up.

Do you just have to show your member card or is this something that you have to preregister for in order to attend?

TIA

the member website says you need only to show your membership card when you arrive

We went last year for the first time. It was fun, they have a real nice character meet-n-great, DVC ornament as a gift, lots and lots of cookies, special pins and such you can purchase. They will have activities for smaller kids.

If you have the time, its worth stopping by and checking it out. I would go again this year, but we arrive the 27th and will miss the last Merry Mixer Party.

I keep seeing references to the BC - I thought the Merry Mixer is in Epcot? (As you can tell I have never been).

The Merry Mixer is outside of the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, but it is not in the park. The best way to get to the party (or access the International Gateway) is to walk from the Beach Club or the Boardwalk.
