Since it will be a while before winter codes will come out, I was curious to see what is the best deal that you've received in December?

Just keep in mind that the deals that came out last year were very unusual. I wouldn't expect to see as drastic (if any) discount during the Christmas Week this year. Discounts are usually available during the first 2-3 weeks of December but I wouldn't expect to see the 40% discounts that were available in 2001.

The best deal I ever got in Decmeber was FREE discovery magic (USAIR vacations put it in our trip booklet and booked us for it by accident). Now that's got to be hard to top!!!

Seriously, the first couple of weeks in December see some fairly steep discounts from what I have seen and heard. I'm sure you'll be able to do fairly well.

I saw Swan/Dolphin (through the link on this web site) are I think in the mid-$100s...this was for after Christmas into New Year's...it was also a few weeks ago that I looked.

We have the WL Pool View booked for $136/nt.incl tax! Airline Rate over Christmas. 2 years ago during the 1st week of December, we had a message on the phone the day before checkout. If we wanted to extend our stay, it would only be $125incl tax.It was too good to pass up.:)

Last December (pre-Christmas) saw some very good values. Let me see what I can remember was available from public codes. The ones with question marks I'm less sure about. (Corrections welcome)

Grand Floridian $199 standard
Polynesian $179 garden, $229 lagoon view or garden concierge
Beach/Yacht Club/Boardwalk(?) $169 standard
Animal Kingdom Lodge Savannah View $169?
Wilderness Lodge $129?
Contemporary $139?
Moderates $79-$84?
All-Stars $49-$59

I agree we may not see such rates this year, but projections from rates currently available for summer suggest we might come close.

I just booked the Swan through Dreams Unlimited (Entertainment rate) for $169.50. Unfortunately we'll only be staying 2 nights. We'll be checking in 12/25 and checking out 12/27. I really wanted to stay at the WL, but the rate was around $350.

We stayed at YC in October, so I'm familiar with the Swan. The Epcot area hotels share the same transportation system, which was important to me.
