FYI if you prepaid CRT and then later got DDP

I had prepaid for breakfast in the castle, then ended up getting Free Dining, so I wanted to use dining credits instead.

I had asked here about getting the refund and was told to try calling Disney Dining. I called once and the CM assured me a credit would be issued and the card used as a hold only. Nothing happened on my credit card (checking online) for weeks. Called again and another CM tried and said if it didn't work to check back. I was tired of calling so I didn't call back when it didn't work.

At the castle last Friday I told them at check in that I still needed a refund. When I told the server I had tried to get a refund already, she smiled knowingly and said that was something they had to do right there. That was Friday and my credit is showing now. :banana:

So my point is, if you are in this situation, save your long distance $ and just wait till you get there! :thumbsup2

Thanks for letting us know. I have already pre-paid for lunch, and am still undecided if we will go with the DDP or not. :confused3 I was wondering how WDW handled this kind of thing.

The refunds arent showing when you call because the part time fresh out of highschool dining CM's arent filling out the Dine Refund forms

We did the same thing last year - paid in full on the CC, and then later signed up for the DDP - they DID refund my CC immediately in my case...so it can be done. Just, as OP stated, be sure that if it isn't done ahead of time, that they apply it properly when you get there.

Disney Dining refunded mine when I called to tell them about the dining plan.
