DAY ONE!!!

CAST:
ME - Mummy and organiser of the trip. Loves all things Disney.

Matthew- My wonderful other half. First trip to a Disney resort

Nanny- Loves all things magical, had been to DLP with me before

Benjamin (4)- Loves peter pan, and all the disney films. Has an amazing imagination, and lives in either costumes or school uniform

Milo (just 1)- Baby of the group.

TRAVEL- Driving from cornwall to Bristol airport, then flying to cdg, then transfer to Sante fe

Well we got up at 4am and got ourselves ready, locked windows, got all milos bottles ready etc. Woke the boys up just before 5 and bundled them into car with duvets. I thought they would be back off to sleep... But ben was far to excited and was singing "we're going to Disneyland" over and over... (I may have joined in too...):lmao:

Picked nanny up, and now of all times... matthew gets a nose bleed?? haha, think it was the excitement.. so we all swap around, now i am driving to Bristol! So we are off.

We get there in good time... In fact 45 mins earlier then our satnav expected... so we now had nearly 3 hours to wait in a small airport :scared1: . The first hour went very slowly.. but after we checked in and went through to departures, it was much easier with the boys. they had arcade and shops to mooch around.

Thenw as time for the plane. We all got bundled into a bus... and it was at that point I realised there were about 16 passengers for the flight..... When we pulled up to our plane.. i burst into laughter... It was this tiny tiny air france plane!! well all 16 of us crammed into our toy plane... Milo was strapped to me.. which he was not impressed with!!

The flight was fast.... but soo bumpy... it was not windy.. just the plane being so small I think, but it made it much more of an adventure.

Milo had huge cry for about 15 mins, then went off to sleep... so was not too bad.

We found transfer straight away and bus was waiting, so that was good. ben fell asleep on way there..as by this time it was 3 oclock.. and had been a long day. Woke ben up as we arrived in Sante fe.. Was so excited. We went off to room, pur on some warmer layers, changed nappies etc... then took one of many beautiful walks into the park.

We were block 14... right near the path to the prak, so made for a speedy exit! We were on 2nd floor.. but had a lift so that didnt matter either. They had not put cott in, but we rang and by time we were back from park there was a nice travel cott in our room, with fleecy blankets and brushed cotton sheets.

Walking through the village was amazing, and so exciting, but I kept rushing everyone along to get to park! (This was a common feature in holiday.. I had to be a bit pushy... on the saturday... they realised why!!!)

Got to park and was hit my the gorgeous christmas decorations, the music. It was lovely and empty too. It got dark very early on the Wendnesday, so instead of walking around park like planned... we saw on the board that Buzz was a 5 min wait... so we headed over and did buzz... Ben and Milo loved it.
I won... and may i add... i seemed to have a wierd knack with Buzz.... even with milo on my lap... i managed to get levels 3 and 4 every time... haha.. matthew getting levels 2 was not too impressed... haha. It became quite a contest!
http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/2317/img1806tu2.jpg
After this we went and got some popcorn and hot drinks and found a spot in central plaza area for the Candlebration

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/9098/img1828wn8.jpg

which, as you can see was gorgeous. I was really tearful. The the snow fell... we were too far down for the snow, but saw it, it was lovely.
We then went to Peter Pan which was a walk on! Then tea cups... also a walk on!! :cool1: :cool1:

Had something to eat then hear the music start for the fantasllusion parade! so I grabbed ben and ran ahead and stood near its a small world, where the floats come out... At first saw all the Villens floats.. and was a wee bit worried... that it was still maybe a halloween parade.. as ben looked quite scared. But then other floats came out.... and thats when he saw her....

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/3663/img1848ad9.jpg
The little mermaid... now may I add.. before this trip, ben showed little interest in her... but on this trip... he fell head over heels!!

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/2298/img1858vu5.jpg

We then went off to our very very very comfy beds, and got little sleep in excitment for the next day!!

And I will write up next day, when milo has his nap later!
Its lovely writting this... you can relive it!

DAY TWO! Part 1

Well we woke up, and as there were no EMH on Thursday, we were not too rushed.. so got up and dressed ready for Breakfest at 8. Go there and was so shocked at the amount of food!! haha... we grabbed 2 or 3 trays full (although I didnt eat much during this trip... just couldnt fancy it.. dont know why.. think excitment!)
http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/3528/img1860qq7.jpg

We filled up bens bottle with orange juice, and flask with hot choc! haha, made some ham sandwiches etc, and we were off!!

Walked through village slowly and took it all in! I decided to allow Ben a costume and he bought the BUZZ one. (a note for people. In village this costume was 45 euros, in park it was 60... this was simular with many items, even christmas decs... so keep an eye out)
http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/6678/img1865na3.jpg

after we got him changed behind a random shelf!! ahaha, we went off!!

http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/5594/img1868sv1.jpg

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/9674/img1871pc3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
We went on Buzz then Orbitron then matthew and i quickly jumped on space mountain... (and my gosh did we get our heads bashed about??!!) After this we went to Peter pan, Dumbo.

Then we took a walk into Frontier Land and Nanny, Ben and I went on Thunder mountain... now this was the only mistake we made during trip!!! Ben was terrified... he got chucked about.. i had to hold him very tight... it was too dark and once ride stopped he burst into tears, but quickly recovered... but i would say... he was over height restriction.. but In my own personal opinion he was too small for it.:scared1:

But it was quickly forgotten when we got outside and we was bought a big pile of popcorn!! We then went to see how long que was for Father Christmas
:santa: and as we approached Woody walked past!! He saw Ben was Buzz so came up to him and ruffled his hair! Then Jessy walked out and we got a Pic with her straight away... (out timing on this trip was something to be admired! hahaha) Ben was so pleased.. and was not nervous at all.. just thrilled! Then we got in que for Father christmas... but Ben got restless.. and wanted to go on autopia... so we left.
http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/2586/img1886wk3.jpg
http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/1931/img1893ew7.jpg

We then walked back through fantasy land where we saw loads of charecters coming out of the gates near its a small world.. and got some great pics! benw as a little nervous at first because a villen came up and grabbed a girl by the scruff of her neck in front of ben, the girl was in tears.. so this shook ben up, so he stayed near nanny and we took milo around, when we saw pooh bear, ben joined us for the rest.

We got pics with kenei, Koda, Poohpooh: , Tigger:tigger: , monkeys, Penguin... the penguin was the funniest as he tapped bens popcorn then rubbed his tummy... ben knew what he meant and laughed.. then the penguin got cross and did it again... but ben still wouldnt give him any... so penguin pretended to have a tantrum... have not got pics of this, as was too funny to take pics at time!! haha.. when we walked away ben goes "mummy... i was too shy to give him popcorn...." bless... i reassured him that penguins dont really like popcorn and he was only joking!! haha

http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/8171/img1919nf6.jpg

http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/703/img1932aa0.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/8427/img1921sb6.jpg
Then we did autopia, which was great and Ben laughed hysterically all the way around which was beautifull!

Now it was lunchtime!!!.... phew what a start to the day... to be continued!!

Day 2 part 2!

Well after lunch, we thought we would have a proper look around castle, go upstairs etc, as we approach... with yet againa mazing timing, look who arrived!!
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2416/img1904ob1.jpg

He was so chuffed. She didnt speak english, but was lovely to him and gave him a kiss on the cheak.

Then the obvious photo shots of trying to pull out the sword, this was Matthews fav Disney film when he was younger.

http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/795/img1912ns2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

After this boys were feeling a bit tired... and we knew we had parade coming up, so took boys to Pizza Planet for a play... ben was VERY popular walking in as Buzz...and made many friends, who spoke many languages! But hay.. Buzz sounds the same in any language!
Milo, got to have a Bum shuffle and cruise around.. which was lovely after being either stuck in buggy or on laps! This was a real life saver to us, and we came here every day at least once... when raining or very cold, just to warm up and let milo move around. I just took my boots off and went and sat on carpet with him, so he was safe from other children running about.

Then came the ONCE UPON A DREAM PARADE, I loved this... Bena nd Milo loved it more then the Candlebration or Fantillusion... and SO I did.. as their faces were so charming. I have got so many pics of this parade!! So il just pop a few up smaller.. as you all porb seen hundreds by now!!
http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/6412/img1954xt1.jpg
http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/2314/img1967tc9.jpg

http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/4347/img1998pc6.jpg
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/8961/img2001cu3.jpg

Of corse... this parade was magical to ben... as it had the Little Mermaid in it... who he has got stopped gushing about since we came home!!
http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/2219/img2199jl5.jpg

This spot was on the Benches near the Princesses stage bit... But we tried out a number of different spots and I found a very good one was to sit... facing those seats and stage... near central plaza... if you sit on curb.. so your on the bend facing the stage.. you get a view of the floats coming towards you, then turning, then going away from you... so you see them for longer and at all angles... it was a great spot.. and on day 3 or 4 when we found that spot, you will see my pics. It was also good, as it was where the Christmas show stop was.. so you see all the soldiers do i dance and the elves run around being naughty and playing with the children in the audience.

It was great fun, because Ben and I seemed to be a magnet for attention! Every float that would come past.... the charector or dancer would go to Ben or I. It was funny... though the parents of the children near me.. didnt seem too impressed!! hahaha.... I dont know why it was!! haha. The pirates and russian dancers were also very flirty and would run up to me, winking and winding Matthew up, which was also very funny... thought when the pirate ran up to me the first time Ben looked a little worried!! hahaha pirate:

so after this, Ben was too exhausted to stay out any longer.. and we knew we had long day tomorrow with EMH so we headed back to our from Via Mc Donalds!

Day Three of five coming up next.

I know.... electric/gas gone crazy. even food shopping is 30 dearer then the same trolley full last year... its all gone nutty. But... I really want to work out a way to do it... as... scrimping and saving is a small price to pay for the experience of being in Disneyland Paris!

My dd adores Little Mermaid too, she finally got to meet her last month and it was a moment I'll always treasure when my dd started humming the theme tune to her, it was great.

I'm currently working out the best time to go next year funds permitting, I just love it.

DAY THREE

Well I woke up early.... 5.30am :scared1: to get bottles, clothes etc ready for everyone.. then woke everyone else up at 6.30am to get up and ready for breakfest at 7. stocked up again....on the free buffet! flask and all :rotfl:
and headed into park.. but on way.. it was so cold we ran back to room to add a few more layers... I wore my very umm flattering ski suit...:rotfl2: but hay I was snug as a bug, was lovely!!!
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/7866/img2061pd3.jpg

We went to Peter Pan first... where we went on it... something crazy like 7 times!!!! Then off to tea cups, followed by two turns on Buzz.... where I continued to get brilliant scores!! hahaha.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/9327/img2062xf3.jpg

When EMH finished... we headed off for our first visit to the studios!

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/2096/img2066xd5.jpg
http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/192/img2067yn8.jpg

As we walked in... I thought... Il go check quickly what time Sully is around... saw the doors... and asked ben to come over for a pic infront of Boo's door! As we got there... guess who appeared!! :sulley: :sulley: The monster himself!! Well Ben was thrilled.... oh wait... no it was me who literally jumped up and down and ran at him with a huge cuddle!!

http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/3323/img2068hg2.jpg
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/9446/img2073tq5.jpg

We got a number of pics, as he was all alone with us for abut ten mins! was fantastic! Then we headed off to do the Cars ride. Cars ride was made even more fun by the man running it, who was jumping around, dancing and blowing me kisses.. then waving to matthew! hahaha the wait was also 5 mins

we also saw that Crush's coaster was a Ten min wait!! So Matthew and I went off and did this, which was great fun... esp as we went backwards!!

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/5471/img2078zt6.jpg
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/6504/of50590396gw0.jpg

After this, we had a quick mooch around.. then all decided although Studios was quite lovely... we were missing that "magic" feeling, so headed back into park, where we got some christmassy snaps.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/1460/img2103ll6.jpg

We then went Pizza Planet, for a play and stretch for Milo.

to be continued!

hollymattbenmilo
11-25-2008, 02:04 PM
. after this

We walked around the park a bit, then walked through the lands...

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/8725/img2106vn4.jpg

Did pirates.... which i thought Ben would be really scared of.... but.. amazingly!! he wasn't!! We made up games going throughout it, and i held him tight down all the dips... and when he came out.. he was chuffed!! Milo on the ohter hand LOVED THIS RIDE! he is only just one... haha. When we went down the dips he chuckled with laughter.. and i think the fake fire etc was all really fascinating to him!!!pirate:

We then did caseys while it was raining! This is us waiting! haha

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/338/img2116im5.jpg
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/1/img2119yt4.jpg

on the way back to Discovery land where Buzz and Star Tours awaited us.... and again... we walked into a whole load of charecters.....(again! haha) we got some great pics. And also met others we didnt manage to get camera out in time for like Genie and Captain Hook.

http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/8122/img2120wp7.jpg

While getting a pic with people a Cm came up to me and whispered.... Run now to Discovery land... Buzz is making a special appearance... if you run now you might catch him! It had been raining all day.. and Ben had already slipped over a million times (how slippery is the ground when wet!!!??) So... me... 5ft 3 thing... picked up Ben... huge 3 stone thing.. and ran from its a small world to Discovery land... where in the distance.. I saw something green... was it?? YES!!!!! I ran and shouted. "BUZZ!!!" I saw him leaving and his cm ushering him away... he then spotted ben wearing Buzz... and hesitated... i thought... please please... he then grabbed ben and ran with him away from all the people trying to get to him, and posed for Matthew to take a pic.... His cm..was really whinging and getting cross with me.. but Buzz signalled NO to him and pointed to Ben! haha, and then pulled ben away again, so we could do pic. Then he ran off with cm. haha. How wonderful is that? I did feel sorry for everyone else... but I think he just made a special exception for ben as he was wearing Buzz! i said a huge thank you to him and he gave me thumbs up!!!

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/9099/img2131pu7.jpg

Was so magical! ben was overwhelmed!! :wizard:

http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/323/img2137qo2.jpg
We then went off to Star Tours.. which was Bens 3rd fav ride! He loved it!! After this we went and found our magical Once upon a dream parade spot (hopefully by pics, you will see where I mean)

DAY FOUR

Woke up... and did my daily.. stick arm out the window weather test... and was very cold but lovely and dry, no damp in the air, so got everyones clothes ready, bottles, popcorn buckets... etc.. then we all got up and off to breakfast for 7 again.

Ben thought today was a day to be Peter Pan..... and this paid off later!!
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/9751/img2230wr0.jpg

ben played with his friend in the play area.. as they did every morning!!

Then we were off to park... We got some lovely pics in front of castle.... though in ever photo one of us is looking away... so in the end we thought sod it... just have silly photos! haha

http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/5985/img2231jc1.jpg http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/6366/img2233kg5.jpg http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/9205/img2247yu8.jpg

We then went on peter pan....... and after a million gos Matthew and I stayed outside with Milo while nanny took Ben on for a few more!!
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/743/img2257sh0.jpg

We then went on teacups and dumbo, then headed over to adventure land entrance to go on Pirates again before it got too busy. Well when the music started to say park was now open... it was mayhem, I nearly got knocked over :scared1: , so i sat Ben in buggy so it was safer and we walked quickly over. We waited maybe 15 mins for ride, so not bad at all. Milo loves it again!

http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/9086/img2263ad6.jpg

After this we went and watched Mickeys Winter wonderland which was lovely, and not busy at all... i think morning rush for rides was goin on! Also its the perfect amount fo time for a show for a young child like milo.. who started to get a little restless towards the end... ben loved it, esp when he got up to dance!

http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/2875/img2265ez2.jpg http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1362/img2266on8.jpg

Then as we headed back to central plaza area we heard that Charecter Express... which so far we had managed to miss, we I ran ahead with Ben, and Peter Pan was on it!! Which was great as Ben hadnt been able to Get a good view of Peter on the floats.

Then the train stopped and Peter ran to right where we were standing, but didnt notice Ben (may I add.... he was only charecter... that didnt put any effort into anything.. this same one on parade... just didnt look "into" it, i saw a different Peter on parade a different day and he was good... but this one was.. well... bit rubbish really.. only one I had any issue with, the rest were all wonderful!)

Anyway as it was saturday before we knew it there were hundreds of local children pushing their way in front.. and as Ben is shy this scared him and he said mummy lets go please...I knew he would be gutted that he had not met Peter when we got home, so i picked Ben up and tried to talk him around... but all the children were pushing and Ben got a little weepy, so we started to walk away, then Peters CM saw Ben and said... PETER!!! got bens hand and said "come with me" and He did.... haha... i think he was too polite to say no, like he did to me. haha. Then she walked him right to the front of the que and said Peter Wendy, look its Peter! And they were really lovely, esp wendy and took a photo for him. he was really pleased after... but still shell shocked by the amount fo people.

http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/5048/img2274iv9.jpg http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/5407/img2280bg9.jpg

After this... it was just mayhem! Too busy... and Milo was stupidly cold even thought he was in layers, snow suit and fleece... so Nanny very kindly took them back to hotel for 2 hours to warm up and have a rest away from all the people. So matthew and I went to studios.. we wanted to do fast pass for TOT but it was 1 o clock and fast pass tickets were for nearly 5!! And wait was over 2 hours!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

So we went around park then got a fast pass for rock and roller coaster which was fun. We had a chat and held hands, just soaked in the atmosphere, then went to pick up boys.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/5633/img2289rg0.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/5498/img2290xg0.jpg

Put them in more layers then returned to park for star tours... but wait was 80 mins! Buzz 95 mins..... so we just walked around really until it was 3.30, then ben fell asleep in buggy.... so we let them both sleep and found an emptier spot for parade nearer its a small world.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5260/img2298wb9.jpg

Parade was lovely as always, and our plan was to run to star tours while parade was still going.... so we did this.. got there and wait was still 60 mins! so we gave in ... we wanted to watch candlebrations and fantillusion but park went into madness... I went to baby room in central plaza to change milo quickly... and there were 8 mothers in there... crying hysterically who had lost their children! :scared1: :scared1:
It then took us 45 mins to get from baby room to exit! snails pace... the funniest part was an english man stood up on a bin and shouted to his mates he couldnt get to "EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF".. made me laugh. So we wondered around the village, went to mc donalds and around shops, and it was much nicer and emptier in village!! haha

Although i can safetly say that saturday was.... radiculous crowed wise... I think if it had been just matthew and I with no children.. and we didnt want to do rides it would have been fine, but with a buggy.. it really was hellish...the locals were being so rough and pushy that milo nearly got badly hurt in buggy by people falling and being pushed over towards buggy.. there was no order.

Ben got so upset he put his arms over Milo to protect him and shouted... "Dont you push my brother... he is a baby"... at that point the warmth came back for me... really melted my heart! :wizard: :wizard:

ANd i still wouldnt say this was a bad experience.. we just laughed about it... we had wed afternoon, thursday and friday where park was wonderful and empty and never waited more then 15 mins for a ride.. so it was just different.. but we saw the funny side of it, nothing was going to ruin our amazing holiday together.

coming up sunday... thankfully not so busy!! And amazingly snowy last day!!

Great update :thumbsup2
Looking forward to the Sunday's report.

I know what u mean about crowds with buggys, but you had the right idea to go for a break in the Disney village ;)

Glad Sunday wasnt as bad.

This is why i choose to do our trip mon-fri cus i was worried about the crowds.
But after i had booked i then discovered that Fantillusion Parade has only been on during wkends in previous yrs, so i was disappointed, i even tried to change our days with travel agents, but it was far to expensive to make changes to our booking, so we didnt bother and we just hoped that Disney might change it and show Fantilusion every evening.
So u can imagine how excited i was when i found out the week before our holiday that the Fantillusion was on every day
:yay:
But to be honest, fantillusion was lovely, but i prefered the Once Upon a Dream Parade and Enchanted Candlebration was absolutley stunning :wizard:

Wed, thurs and Fri was the less busiest day for us too :thumbsup2

well yes! haha, thats why i booked over those days too! haha. i booked back in march I think, and at that point fantillusionw as only set for the weekends! so i did it wed to sun rather then mon to fri... so i was a bit annoyed when i rrealsed i could have done it anyway! haha... but on that note.. if i had done it mon to fri.. the air france strike was still on monday.. so that may have been a problem... but in the future, i would def avoid weekends at all cost!! hahaha

I think I met the same Peter Pan & Wendy in October & they were just lovely with my kids (especially Wendy) and gave them big hugs and told them how lovely it was to meet them - there no crowds about at the time though! It was lovely to read about your Peter Pan encounter, I'm sure you'll remember it forever. It certainly pays to dress the kids up. I have found that CMs give them more attention & my daughter has been called princess on many occasions. Once she was coming out of Anamagique in her princess dress (she was 4 at the time) and a CM stopped her & DH & asked if they wanted to go on the parade with Mickey. The next day they were part of the parade, sitting on the last float of the Studios Parade with Mickey Mouse. Pity I was 8 mths pregnant at the time & missed that trip!

Sorry to hear that it was so busy on the Saturday, I don't usually go at weekends, but have booked in January over my birthday weekend :scared1:

Looking forward to reading more.

DAY FIVE... OUR FINAL DAY! :sad1:

Well We had packed everything mostly the night before, so I rushed everyone out of Bed so we would be at the baggage stop in Sante fe for 7am. It was FREEZING! And we were all really underdressed for such weather... but we knew we would be in a boiling hot airport later.. so left it as we were. We dropped bags off at 7 and went straight for Breakfest... we didnt make our ususal "picnic" today.. as I had barely spent ANY money on this trip, so figured I would buy us lunch later.

We went into Park and Did Peter Pan a few times, Tea cups and then headed over to Buzz for our final go... which was CLOSED:scared1: .. People were making quite a fuss... but it didnt really bother me, ques for space mountain were 5 mins, so we had a quick ear bashing on that again:rotfl: then went into the Lion king Stage to look around, got some pics, then went and got into the que for Star Tours for opening!!

http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/7575/img2307uc4.jpg http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/8576/img2310qy0.jpg http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/6394/img2312gw5.jpg

After this we went around a few shops in the park and went and had an early lunch in The pizza post... I think thats what it was called. Ben had the box of pasta.. which he loved.. (think he had missed pasta!) And Matthew and I shared a Pizza. Milo was being fussy with everything.. then ended up sharing Bens pasta too.. I just chopped it up a bit.

We then went to post Father Christmas a letter before we went home. SO we did a few, From Ben, Milo, Their Step sister Olivia and one of Bens friends.. then headed back to Central Plaza area where we saw the express coming past, great timing again! Then the snow started to fall!

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/3585/img2337id2.jpg http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/7027/img2334cc8.jpg
http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/6864/img2317dc6.jpg

We never get snow down here in Cornwall... so Ben was running around in pure excitment... as was I!!

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/238/img2325oo2.jpg

We kind of spent the next hour walking around in a daze!! Disney Daze lets call it! The rides were too busy anyway.. and I just wanted to take everything in.. so we walked around in the snow.. drinking hot choc and eating popcorn..was total bliss!!

Now... at this point I must tell you, most of this was caught on camcorder... and we have lost lead to put it on pc... so when this error has been sorted I will add some clips for you all to see. My mum also Has lots of photos of the snow..as our camera battery started to die at this point! So I have a few, but Il pinch her memory card in the next week and add more pics then!

All I can say is it was gorgeous!! It was light and fluffy when we were in park, by the time we made it to village for a bit of light shopping before we left... it was so heavy we were drenched in snow! After shopping we took the most beautiful walk back to sante fe, very slowly along the river, the ground was thick with snow, we even made a mini snow man!! The trees were frosted in white... it was just gorgeous! And made for the most wonderful exit from our beautiful Christmas trip to Disneyland Paris. By the time we got to Sante fe... the Buggy was officaillly and iglu! It was so covered in snow we couldnt see through the raincover!! we were drenched and cold.. but still smiling huge smiles, as it had been so much fun.

http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/3299/img2339wb6.jpg http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/4182/img2343sb1.jpg

Here is pic taken from mobile! Will give you an idea of how the snow fell! Will get more pics when I can!

http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1237/getattachmentux3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

We didnt wait long for transfer Bus, and we were then off to CDG. Milo was not in the best of moods on this trip! haha.. but it didnt last long and we kept him entertained with his brand new Sulley teddy.... which of corse he picked... with no encouragment from mummy at all.......:rolleyes1

Ben sat with his brand new panther teddy....

When we got to airport.... we had issue after issue... the air france staff were not the friendly bunch we had had at Bristol! They would not allow me to keep buggy.. we had 3 hours to wait before flight with a baby!! As flight been delayed by snow a bit. They made the security check alot more complicated... not that I minded really.. as its nice to know they are doing a good job! But even smiling seemed to offend?? It was really hard coping with a tired baby with no buggy for so long, esp as I saw so many other mums with older children still had theirs... we literally had just got some random person on a power trip..as we had ben allowed to keep our buggy right up to boarding before! But it was ok....

If I was to give advice to those with children going to cdg.... take food!! It makes Disneyland Paris look cheap! And the food is not really child friendly... the only thing I found for ben to eat was some pasta and pesto ..tiny portion that cost me 11 euros! coke was nearly 4 euros! So in case your flight is delayed.. amke sure you are well stocked up... on the plus side though... they had a play area for milo to bum shuffle around and a playstation area ..which kept Ben and Matthew entertained for 2 hours! haha

Once on plane we found they had made yet another complication.. we had requested 2 times to make sure we were all sat together... and he said, yes your first to check in... thats fine you're all together... it was only when handing over boarding passes that I saw we were all over the place! Even Ben who was 4! On his own!!! I was so furious... first time whole trip anything got to me! The people on board would not help... but kindly the other guests felt so sorry for us they very kindly swapped their seats around.. so Ben sat with nanny one end and I sat with matthew the other with Milo on my lap... But i really didnt like not being near Ben.. it made me feel very anxious throughout trip.

Once sat down Ben was fast asleep... and amazingly so was milo.. i was very carefully trying to put the baby seat belt on milo...so as to not wake him up.. when the air hostess came past.. and I think trying to help just pulled milo forward!! MY BABY!! I said.. "excuse me, dont you dare touch my child! I will do it", she apoligised... she was very young and I think realised what an idiot thing to do she just did. I was very polite to her throughout the trip..we all make mistakes. Luckily I got milo back to sleep with just a bit of crying.

Then we were off.... the flight was fast and we were quickly back at Bristol. You think the drama may have stopped... but nooo.. as I saw my new twin buggy come around.. I had boguht for this trip.. as Ben too bug to need it... I saw it had been snapped in half on one side... the metal literally snapped! So off to baggage enquiries I went.. exhausted... by this time I had a bad case of the giggles!! An just laughed it off....am now in process of trying to get compensation for the damage...

The ironic thing being... that they said they took buggy off me 3 hours before our flight.. to insure it was safe! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was then informed we had to take broken buggy home with us, as they may want to collect it! so we had two children to carry now who were asleep... couldnt sit them in anything.. and all our luggage... getting to the car was a barrel of laughs! haha

Well we finally got home to our house ..excited as our central heating was meant to be put in while we were away.... nothing done... heating had been turned off for 5 days.... condensation sogging every window... smelt damp... joy! so was up cleaning and making house nice until 4 in the morning! haha

sooooooo... as you can see... the min I left Disneyland Paris it all went a bit mad! hahaha... It was a sign from Mickey not to leave I just know it!!

SO once this trip has been paid off, the car has new tyres, mot and all those boring things that soak money up.. I will be booking another trip!! Matthew is going to work out extra hours to save up too.

It was a magical holiday! And fit for a child of any age. Even milo who is barely one... loved the parades! Since we have been home we have watched our footage on tv, and Milo and Ben have sat there clapping and smiling... like we are there watching it all over again!

I would like to thank everyoe for all the advice, as even with 5 days we didnt get it all done! But with you help I managed to do everything important with greater ease and information!

Babys- Not all the loo's have a changing area! There is the baby centre.. which is located in the Central Plaza area near the sign directed to Lost Children. Also the loo in Discovery land near Autopia has a changing area on the tops near the sinks... if that helps anyone!
baby food and napppies cost a fortune... and i bought milo one baby jar..as i was worried he was not eating enough.. and he hated it! haha

oh yes.. if you are planning on going when it is likely to be wet.. make sure your children have shoes with amazing grip! My son was wearing ugg style boots and is covered in bruises from slipping over on certain floor types outside.. not hat he minded... he said he was ice skating! haha

Pizza planet is a life saver to warm up and let little ones have a crawel and a play before going off to parade.... it was so large that even on saturday when we went in.. there was plenty of room available.

Tip: If your taking baby... i took boiled water over on the plane in a flask.. then topped up water already in bottles, so milk was nice and warm.. just had to take a sip of it to prove it was safe water. This way you can then use that flask either for the same purpose in park... or fill up with a nice warm drink from your breakfest buffet!

Hope you have enjoyed my first trip report covering the 19th to 23rd of November 2008. It was an amazing experience that I will treasure forever. I hope I can return again soon...and I will be lingering around the site until then, to keep the memories and planning alive!

wow what a great trip report. i really enjoyed it. i cant believe all the drama at the airport. you would think with all the people passing through they would be used to families.although when i went through the metal detector with ash who was asleep her baby straps set off the alarm. i tried to explain but they grabbed ash off me. drug tested me ash and the buggy. woke ash up from her sleep so she was cranky till we got home it was awful. the woman shook her awake and kept snapping her fingers to get ash to look at her.ugh i just wanted to gently take the straps off and go through again. no such luck!!

Arr thank you. Yes I would def drive if I lived nearer... But would cost a fortune in Petrol from cornwall.... but if petrol pricess still continue to go down...(fingers crossed) i may do that. Also that dream castle hotel that

we r not exactly easy drive - it takes us about 3 to 4 hrs to get to the tunnel, hence havin a stop in hotel the night before..... its only cheaper as we used tesco vouchers for the tunnel - so just fuel to pay - am currently collecting the 5p of fuel vouchers, so we can get filled up even cheaper!!

we did consider flying - with the ryanair cheap flights, but think wed spend as much if not more with taxi to airport, and transfers from cdg airport to disney...... its hard to gauge really!!!

yes, dream castle looks fab, but im a disney snob n wanna stay onsite!!! one day will be dlh...... one day........

hollymattbenmilo
11-27-2008, 06:38 AM
Yes i do know what you mean about staying onsite.... but if it worked out alot cheaper i wouldn't mind really..as she said i was very disney themed etc. The tesco club points are a good idea... I have no idea how to do that.. to turn points into using the tunnel. I think would take us 4/5 hours to drive to tunnel... maybe bit more! haha... mmm... its a difficult one... our transfers etc were free.... i guess it all works out about the same, unless your lucky enough to live right near tunnel! But i cant wait... will have to do it in 2009... come what may!

I loved your trip report. What a nightmare at the airport! We had exactly the same thing at the airport flying out. We had been told we could have our buggy until boarding but were made to check it in! It was 5 in the morning and Jessica was 11 months old at the time. It's hard to believe that they would do that - it's not like she could have walked anywhere, so it's a necessity when you have other children and luggage. If Ben is anything like Olivia (who was just 5 when we went to DLRP) he will remember so much of this trip. She still remembers things that I had forgotten!

hollymattbenmilo
11-27-2008, 08:07 AM
yes Ben is the same... he remembers everything! Its so nice, perfect age to take him it was. Yes it was daft, at this end at Bristol they said... "oh no of corse keep your buggy".. same size plane... same company... wierd!

Oh yes..one memory to add quickly!!! hahha. ben adores Dinosaurs... is dino mad, so I thought he would love dragon under castle.... haha... well i told him it was pretend as we were going in... but didnt preapre him enough... the min he saw dragon, it moved and made a noise... Ben literally ran out screaming! haha... poor thing... was funny though.. I ran after him picked him up and cuddled him.. he got over it quickly... but just to warn! haha... prepare them first! hahahaahah.... He is not usually scared of those things... we have been to dinosaur parks etc.. but Dragon really scared him! haha ... again.. Milo was not bothered... the crazy brave baby!

Just read the last installment & really felt for you on your journey home - travelling with young kids is stressful enough without delays or missing buggies! I'm glad you had such a great trip & hope you can get to go back soon. Thanks for sharing your trip report, I loved reading it.

I really truelly loved reading your report...

From the tiny Air France plane (yip thats the fella we get haha!!) to the ski suits!!:rotfl:

Not sure if its just me but I felt myself well up with the characters being so nice to your son! The photos are amazing!!

You don't happen to know if I will be allowed to take a buggy on Air France for my 3 year old son??? Don't want to be charged for taking it:thumbsup2

you def wont be charged.. they are allowed a buggy in their "allowance".. but whether you can take it right up to gate will depend on who checks you in! haha...
Thank you. yes... its amazing, as Ben was quite shy, but they seemed to really warm to him and make that extra effort to make him feel safe, was just amazing, will treasure it forever:love:

Thank you everyone, glad you enjoyed it! Thought may be usefull to read tips for anyone thats going with young children!

on that note! hahaha, a POPCORN tip!! Get that big suvenier one first 7.50 euros... then after that keep filling it up with a large portion.. ask for large... they charge you then 3.40 euros.. and its full! If you just hand it over and ask them to "fill it up" they charge you 7.50 euros again!!! haha... so remember to ask for a large portion please!!! merci!

I think bens main food group over this holiday was popcorn!! we have been eating nothing but veggies since we came home!! haha...catching up! oh well.. was a holiday after all!

Yeah we have taken the buggy no problem before BUT now that he is 3 I thought they might have a cut off period for buggies age wise???

Same with us having to give our buggy up, we were ok (if I remember right) in Edinburgh flying out, we just handed the buggy to the guy at the plane steps and he threw it on!!:rotfl: But on the way back they made us hand it back... oh nightmare, my kid so needs strapped in!!!:rotfl:

But, WOW how tiny ARE those planes?:scared1: At least its cosy!!!:rotfl: One time I was on seat 13 and it only had the recline position!!:rotfl: The lass kept telling me to sit up for take off and I explained it was broken, so I had to sit on the edge of the seat and not put my back on it!!:woohoo:

Funny now though!!:rotfl:

Cant be that bad though as I keep going back for more!! Mind you its not like I live near the eurostar, we haven't got much choice!!:rotfl:
