And don't forget that for most dates from January 2nd through the end of June, you can get 3 nights for free when you book 4 at any WDW resort. That works out to about a 43% discount.
Also, people who check in before 3/29 will get a $200 Disney gift card that they can spend on the vacation.

From April 25th to May 2nd, I will be staying at POP! :hyper: Originally, I was going to be staying at the Hilton free on points, thanks to Corey, but we crunched the numbers and with the 4/3 Promo, I can stay onsite and save on a 10 day hopper for use later, since I already have 5 days of park admission leftover from our previous trips.
We have not stayed outside of Disney's resorts since 2001. We had no plans to return to WDW together in 2009, but Corey changed her mind and we are going in October. During our stay, we will celebrate Corey's birthday :cake: as well as our 10th Anniversary. :love2: Corey and her mom's birthdays are only a few days apart. Corey's sister will bring her mom over to WDW and we will do the Afternoon Tea as her birthday present, since she loves going to tea.
We are going to use those Hilton reward points that I was originally going to be using in April for our October trip and that way, we will have a deluxe room for cheap and still have EMH access. I did some number crunching and it made more sense to do things this way. It also leaves us both with 5 day hoppers left over for use on a trip in 2010 or later....because you know we will go back! ::yes::

We're going on a Disney cruise (the podcast cruise) on May 10th-14th. We are staying the night before at the Dolphin and discussing whether or not to extend our vacation and stay for a couple days afterward, or go home on Thursday. Okay I know what I want to do, I just need to figure out if we can afford it.

Depending on my monetary situation I'd love to come back around Halloween. If I come alone I'll be staying at the Poly. If I come with Jeffrey again...........we'll probably be staying at the Poly, but I'll take his other suggestions into careful consideration.....kind of. :upsidedow

Hi all. Been lurking around the edges. We just booked a trip for January 18-26 at CBR (our first foray out of the value resorts) and are planning a second - a Grand Gathering in November for our ENTIRE family. We will be surprising kid on Christmas day with the news of the trip. We are heading to Miami in a few weeks for a conference and I think DS and DD are thinking we are going to WDW then. They will be disappointed but that will make this surprise so much more special! :)

So far the only trip I have booked is February, staying at AKV - I had lots of points to use up so I'm staying concierge! I'll definitely be down for Food & Wine but I'm not sure when, we had a great time this year when we were down for Halloween so I may go with that time again. I'm sure they'll be a few other trips thrown in throughout the year.

We are hoping to spend two weeks in late spring/early summer. We have DVC and AP's along with some credit on Southwest, so the only costs would be our rental car and food....
But this all depends on if/when we manage to conceive (it has been an uphill battle). I have a procedure scheduled for next week and if it is successful then the baby would be due around late August.... And that would make a June/July trip out... Maybe...
So many decisions... Disney, Baby, Disney, Baby, Disney, Baby... :lmao: I am kidding, of course.

It seems that the majority of everyone on this forum goes to WDW is that correct? We tend to enjoy DLR more, but that's us. We made three trips this year and can only afford one trip next year. We plan on going in October to DLR. Although we do want to get to WDW sometime within the next year and a half.

We love WDW! :lovestruc
Our friends have been trying to convince us to go to DLR with them, but we don't want to go. We have DVC so our hotel is taken care of, and we usually have annual passes for WDW. If we are going to spend the money on airfare then I want to go somewhere that I can spend a nice LONG time. The general consensus is that DLR is only about a 4 day endeavor unless you add in other attractions. I spent 16 days at WDW this summer and I still wasn't ready to come home! WDW is also my comfort zone - I know where things are, I know how to get from one thing to another, etc.
24 hours 'til vacation bid. :hyper: Can't wait to get those dates set in stone!

We very likely won't be going to WDW in '09. We're planning a big two week trip to Japan in July. If we go anywhere else, it might be to Universal for a couple of days for HHN. Otherwise, because Japan is going to be so expensive, we will likely do weekend local trips, visit family upstate, etc... Disney would have to have GREAT deals and airfare would have to be stupid cheap otherwise.

From April 25th to May 2nd, I will be staying at the Hilton free on points, thanks to Corey! I am going to go offsite for the first time in several years. I decided that it was time to explore a little more of Orlando. I have a whole week and only 3 days of park admission and several waterparks/DQ admissions. With the lack of nighttime adult entertainment on property, I might as well go see what else Orlando has to offer.
So far, we have no trip to WDW planned for the two of us next year. :guilty:
I am staying for a week from jan 14-21 before I check in to the college program. I'm staying off property for the same price as I could have stayed on property. Even with the 200 dollar gift card, I decided I don't want to give Disney my resort money since they don't care about my interest in night time entertainment. PLEASE send a letter to every exec you can to let them know you are staying off property because of the lack of night time entertainment

What makes you think they "screwed up"? We don't know that is going to happen to the location known as PI. It could end up being even better than the old venue. DTD in Anaheim is beautiful, and no clubs. I watched an interesting documentary the other day on the closing of the Roxy in NYC. The owner basically said the days of clubs are pretty much over, and he followed by saying you can thank the Internet for that. Time will tell if the new and improved PI is better than the old one, but until we actually know what changes are taking place, I wouldn't say they "screwed up".

Thanks! One part of it actually worked out today. DH is booked with miles. When I went to change the dates for his tickets the flights I wanted were gone. They were there earlier that day. :headache: I went ahead and switched the dates, but on flights I wasn't thrilled with. This morning the flights I originally wanted were available again with miles, so I immediately called and switched the tickets (AGAIN). :thumbsup2
The problem now is fixing the tickets I have for DS and me. Those are cash tickets that I already paid a boat load of money for. I bought way ahead of time because I was afraid they would keep going up. Now I can't decide if I should just suck it up and change them, or wait to see if the price drops so I can take advantage of the price difference to offset the $300 change fee. :sad2:

Blah, blah, blah.
Yeah. They screwed up. If only by closing the Adventurers Club.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!
And don't try telling me that what they bring in to replace it will be better, because it was perfect just the way it was.

One think I have learned hanging around the Mouse House is "Change is Good!" Not my slogan, but they are pretty big on mixing things up every now and then.
To quote Walt....
"Disneyland will never be complete. As long as there is creativity in the world, it will continue to grow."
Now while I will agree that closing the AC may have been a downer, you have to admit the whole concept of PI had outgrown its day. Anytime you have a venue at a family theme park where you have to hire 50 off duty cops just to patrol the streets is a problem. We could debate where they went wrong till the end of time. But I for one will wait to see what they do with that area till I pass judgment on wether is was a wise move or not.
Hi All! Me and my DH, and our neighbors across the street are going Jan 24 - 28. We booked 2 studios at SSR. They have their left over 3 days base tickets so we are going to 3 parks.

Keep checking on the FL res discount, as well as AAA if you're a member. They've got the 4/3 deal, but that's only good if you're comming for a week (might save you money in June).
Also don't forget the first weekend of June is Gayday, so that can be a fun time :thumbsup2

Going back to Disney World in June '09 :woohoo:
I'll probably stay at the All-Star Movies resort. I stayed there three years ago and I was pleased, so why not do it again!
And, of course, I'll go to the four parks. Have a day for shopping and "relaxing" at Downtown Disney. Have another for the Waterparks. It's gonna be fun. I can't wait

Our dates are October 13th to the 21st.
::yes::

I went in May of 08 for 12 days. It was the last I was going to be there for a long time as I bought a house the property tax is so high most of my travel is out of the question. In January our company moved to a new building. I was in charge of getting the new building ready, moving everyone and everything and restoring the old building. I guess the boss was happy as she gave me a trip for two to WDW!!!!
I am going March 20-28. I paying to upgrade to CSR. I have no friends that care about WDW or Disneyland so I asked family. My sister is going to try to go. If she can't my Dad wants to go. He is 82 and had been 3 times. I am continually amazed that he wants to go again!

Yes, the beautiful blonde 2 year old is Cole.
We'll be staying over at SSR (DVC Developer Points) but because Chip will be there so long he'll be looking for some get away time, so he might give you a call to go to the parks or something and once I get down there, I'll definately give you a call.
Side note, Aliza's husband (Cole's father) might be stopping in for a few days as he's coming home from war in a few months. So if he's there, you'll know where Cole gets his good looks from.

WL is very nice. I stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I liked it better than Beach Club where I stayed at my last trip. Although I liked the location of Beach Club more. So convenient to get to Epcot for dinner.

I'm taking my first trip September 21-28. Staying at YC (this is apparently where the Disney Institute selected for me to stay... I'd prolly rather be at POR based on the architecture, etc.) I will be in class the 23-25th and on my own the rest of the time... It'd be fun to hang out if anyone else is going around that time.

Hey all. I will be in WDW from June 7-15 staying at AKL. I can't wait. I've been to WDW just twice before, both for short trips and frankly not very well thought out vacations. Being a Californian, I have been to Disneyland many times, but I must say I truly love WDW, and I am totally stoked (yes I'm from CA...and yes, maybe trapped in the 80s a bit) to go. This time I have done lots of research (thanks in parts to the boards!) and lots of planning. I'm traveling with a friend who is well matched with my Disney geekiness, so I know we're going to have a blast. CAN'T WAIT!!!

I know, I know...it was the only time I could take time off. Unfortunately, I couldn't travel a week earlier. And my friend that I'm traveling with is a straight one, so I'm not sure he would've appreciated gay days. I may try to make it for gay days next year. So, yeah, I'll miss the gays en masse, but I'm still excited for my trip :-D.

Anyone else going this month? My partner Jack and I will be at WDW May 18-23, anyone else there at the same time?
We will be staying at the Polynesian. This will be our 2nd time together, we also went in September 2008 and stayed at CSR. We wanted to stay at a resort on the monorail this time since my mom will be with us on this trip and we wanted easy access to the hotel in case she gets tired and needs to rest.

EVERYTHING at DH's company is all about seniority. Nothing is merit based, which sucks. But they do have a 100% work place rating from HRC, so that's something. ;)
December was never a definite thing. I would have liked to go, but it's not a big deal. DH gets 3 weeks of vacation in 2010 so he might do 2 weeks in summer and a December week. We shall see! He can only bid for 2 weeks initially, then after EVERYBODY has had a turn they go back through and let the guys with 3 and 4 weeks bid again. I liked that when DH only had 2 weeks, but now that he has 3 I wish he could bid all 3 in the first round! :rotfl2:

LOL @tinkerbell (and the scooby impersonation).
I just really want to be able to do something very special for her. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with Lupus 2 years ago (when we were supp to be at the World for MY 30th bday... obviously we had to cancel). Since my diagnosis and allllll the medical issues that come along with it, she has been THE BEST. She takes care of me when I can't get out of the bed because my joints hurt and I can barely lift my head from fatigue. She carries umbrellas over me whenever we are in the sun, to protect me. She holds me when I'm crying and frustrated over living with Lupus. She is learning sign language in order to communicate with me, since one of the things Lupus is affecting is my hearing, and I now wear hearing aids (that SHE paid a lot of money for). She makes sure I take the many pills that I have to take in order to manage my disease, and she just makes life with Lupus and life in GENERAL much better than I could have ever imagined. *sniffle* (uh... I'm not really crying... that's... uh... allergies... yeah, that's it) ;)
Ok I'm rambling... :upsidedow
Anyway, I thank God for her everyday, and I just want to make her day special because she deserves it.
Soooo, if anyone has any suggestions as to what to do to make this trip special, I would greatly appreciate it. I've been considering doing the new dessert party over at MK one evening. I know we are definitely going to check out Wishes from the Poly beach. Any other suggestions?? :flower3:

The Wishes Dessert party sounds like it could be fun (we haven't done it yet, so I don't know). If you're at the Poly, my suggestion would be to go to the Tambu Lounge for their amazing pina coladas. They're my favorite.
And don't worry. Magic happens very frequently at the Poly. It's going to be great!

*grumble*
I hath been conned into staying 2 more nights... a friend actually got me a really good deal at Coronado Springs for the 28th/29th, and I got a direct flight home via Southwest for $32 cheaper than my original flight (including fees, etc. so now I have a credit for my DC trip in April). Looking at perhaps going to MNSSHP a 2nd time as well.
I booked all my dining reservations today, trying to keep in mind that I needed to work around my Disney Institute classes... hopefully nothing will conflict. So now I will be arriving in the afternoon on Monday, Sept 21st and departing in the late afternoon on Weds the 30th.

October 8th through 11th is Orlando Pride, so that will be a fun time to be in town anyways! :thumbsup2
I'm also on vacation for those dates, if anyone wants to enjoy a beverage or 4 for the festivities :rotfl:

OK, so back to AKL! Because I heard a nasty rumor that Pop Warner will be at CSR, and I want no part of that. Brawling teens and loud mouth "chaperones" are NOT my idea of a good time.
Dec. 3-7 at AKL. Really.

:woohoo: Best resort ever!
This will be my first time staying at the Poly. We visited it for lunch on our last trip (OMG - the Kona wings...), and I thought the resort was beautiful! Even though we agreed no more expensive resorts for a while, my DP suggested that I stay at a monorail resort for this trip, since she can't come with me because of work. And I jumped at the chance to stay at the Poly. :)
Have I mentioned that I am the luckiest woman on the planet?
