I'm going in a few weeks and want to make sure what I've read is accurate. As far as counter service credits go, Disney makes no formal distinction between adult and child. Yes, if you have a child, they'd like you to order from the child's menu but you don't have to, at counter service. At table service you have to adhere to the adult/child breakdown unless it's a buffet? Of course snacks make no difference adult or child. We've taken our children on the dining plan the last two years and I don't think we ever ordered them a counter service meal as a child's meal, we just ordered what they'd like. In some cases we only ordered one platter of something and they shared to stretch the credits. It all worked perfectly so I'm hoping for no changes in the process in December.

The official rule of WDW is very clear from all published literature that children's credits should be used to order from the children's menu if one is available. This goes for both TS and CS. The DIS does not advocate breaking the rules of Walt Disney World, including those concerning the dining plan. This thread is closed.
