Just want to check this out because my hubby saw something and i heard something
the room is room 2161 its the ground floor in the 50's building right at the furthest point away right near the lake near the skittle (bowling pin)
my hubby woke in night heard a noise and thought my daughter was up and going through her princess dresses but realised it was too tall for her and looked over to her bed and she was sound asleep my daughter is only 2. he then realised she had dark hair and sat up and the girl looked at him and then vanished
i was not sure if to believe him when he told me in the morning but then i noticed the coat hangers with the dresses on were not on the rail anymore they were on the bit that holds the shelf up not the rail
couple of nights later we had just gone to bed and there was a noise and i said to him whats that and he said its the coat hangers and they were moving about and hitting against each other. nothing there though

There are a couple of other threads about Pop Century room(s) being haunted. I remember reading them but I can't remember if it was just one room or several and I certainly don't remember if they talked about your exact room.

Is there a ventilation duct near the closet? If there was air blowing, that would expain the hangers rattling. It would not explain the hangers moving from the rail to the shelf, though.

I think I remember that there were some haunted rooms in the 70's section of the resort. I think there were a few threads about them. It freaked me out so bad, I switched our resort in Oct..:scared1: :scared1: There was something about hangers in their threads, you will need to do a search. Sorry, I can't help you anymore.
Hope you find out about the little girl....sad:sad1: :sad1:

After reading the other thread it makes me wonder if maybe the little girl accidentally hung herself in the closest or something. It's just odd that everyone is complaining about the hangers banging and say theres no vent in the area. :confused3

I am writing that one down. I requested 50's building for my stay beginning 12/3. I am a scaredy cat and will be staying with DGD alone that first night until DD and DSIL fly in the next day. I WILL NOT be staying in room 2161 which I assume is building 2. Have stayed at POP 2 other times, in the 50s section, and never experienced anything like that! I am reading this alone in computer room. DH and DGD are asleep in the other 2 bedrooms. I put the light on in here but am now afraid to go into the rest of the house which is very dark! Should have known better than to read through all of the previous "haunted stories" posts. Had a friend at work who was very prone to these sorts of things and has had, and continues to have, encounters. Not sure what I would do in such a situation. Thanks for posting the room # and the previous posting was 70's section building 10 so I will not be staying there either!

all the others seem to be the 70's section we seem to be the only ones who have heard and seen something in the 50's

the coat hanger moving thing i would say was the air conditioning exept the vent is the other side of the room but i would have still maybe said it was just something blowing. the my hubby seeing the girl thing i kinda thought he was mad or just dreaming or something but when i saw the hangers had moved that freaked me

Was scared of being in there with just my daughter after things but wouldn't dare ask to move rooms either *** they would think i was nuts

hoping nobody else things i'm totally nuts

Pop isn't very old. It opened in what? 2002 or 2003? If somebody's child had DIED in one of the rooms you would have heard about it.

If the room is haunted I would think the ghost came from whatever was on that piece of land before Pop.

In 1980 my parents bought a brand new house in Jacksonville, FL beside the Intercoastal Waterway. I would have sworn it was haunted. The street was a dead end, but beyond the end of the paved road was a dirt road. 3 or 4 families lived at the end of the dirt road - families that had owned the land for a VERY long time. There was a very old man called Bill who lived at the end of the dirt road at the edge of the swamp. Bill said there was a slave graveyard, but he wasn't terribly clear on where it was. My mom kind of wondered if the house was built on some sort of cemetery.

So, if anyone wants to know what might be haunting the rooms at Pop I would suggest figuring out what stood there a century or so ago. :rolleyes1

No, no I wouldn'd because my finger would still be in my ears and i'd still be "La,la,la-ing all over the place.

Okay yeah,
very old man+end of the dirt road+the edge of a swamp=HAUNTED,

I have stayed in the 70's building twice and nothing has ever been out of the ordinary- AND YES, it was just swamp land before Disney built pop in that location just a few years ago- there's never been a story about a child death because of a hanging there-
Sorry, I'm just not so much of a believer in the "haunted hotel" that is less than 10 years old. Sorry, I'm not tring to put anyone down- it's just that there are "believers" and "non-believers" in this stuff and I am definately a "non"

I think that you are a very nice person for not putting anyone down who "believes". I was also a skeptic until my 12-year-old grandson died. We had friends visiting us to attend his services. We were all sitting in the front yard when all of a sudden the handle of the cooler was flapping up and down, and a small branch of the tree fell on my head. There was NO WIND and the weather was beautiful! His little sister (1 1/2 years old) was pointing out in the field and calling "Adam, Adam." She then ran out into the field laughing and running like someone was chasing her.

You should have seen the look on the faces of our friends! :lmao:

So help me God - that is the absolute truth!

People can call me crazy for believing - but I have experienced other things as well since my grandson died.

Yes, there are people out there who make up stories; but, there are also people who are telling the truth. :flower3:

I agree. I had an experience with my grandmother as a young child and many years later found out that others in my family had as well.

Add me to the list of serious believers. I can tell you several situations that occurred to me right after by beloved father passed away 14 years ago, and are still occurring. In all honesty, I can't change stations when "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum comes on because it WILL be on every station until I listen to it in its entirety. Then my dad will have something to tell me. My cousin, who passed away this time last year, actually called me on the telephone the evening of her funeral to say goodbye. So if the original poster said she had a visitor in her room at Pop, I believe she did.

And all I can say is: Booooooooooooooo!!!

I am a believer.... my 11 year old daughter talks about my grandmother visiting her (she passed away Sept 07' ) and a "little girl" with dark hair...she said the "little girl" is friendly....the only sense we can make of the "little girl" is there is what used to be a rental home just in the back of our house, we were told there was a very small Asian woman who died in the 70's in that home...maybe she is lonely now that there is no one living in there and it is used for storage so she comes to visit us. Personally, I have never seen either ghost, but my daughter swears she has several times.

I think that is a great way of thinking... and you never know, it just could be true. I dont think anyone is crazy for seeing 'things'. Who are we for saying ghosts dont exist because we have never seen one. With that said.. I prefer not to see anything ever in my life lol! My grandmother used to see the spirit of her daughter, and I used to beg her that when she died to please never haunt me:lmao: Did she see her daughter... who knows. She says she did and it made her feel better... so that is all that matters.

I am so sorry that your grandmother passed. I think what you feel is very likely. Many who care for the dying say that when our loved one is close to crossing over they often visit those who are not nearby - a way of saying goodbye.

They will also begin to talk about those who have passed before them as if they are with them - because the the one who is about to leave is letting go and ready to leave, so to speak.

It is lovely that your dear nana came to you at POP. When my mother passed I was in another state but awoke from sleeping as I could see her walking past a window and at that moment I knew she had passed. Within minutes the phone rang....she has passed just 10 minutes before.

We also had experiences after my son passed. Those who believe in these things will understand how I knew he was very near me for a few days after he passed - to comfort me.

Please take gentle care of yourself. Your heart is now her home.

saraheeyore - I am sorry for your loss.

I understand that the land where Pop is now was swamp in the 1970's when Disney bought the land. I wonder what it was back in the 1870's? There were Indians in the area, and eventually there were settlers, so there is no telling what could have happened on that land way back when. :confused3

I have stayed at POP several times and have never had a problem. My mom is really into the ghost hunting thing though and is always taking pictures. Last trip at POP she was out early by the lake, no one else was around yet. She came back in the room and downloaded the pictures. She found a mist over near one of the benches and it was in the shape of a figure. Seriously I have no reason to bs anyone here. I'm not a super believer either but even I couldn't explain it away.

Really there is nothing to be afraid of. So the hangers move, it's better than the bed shaking for sure.

I am the most common sense person my friends know - but I get this and believe! On the night my grandmother died, I was visited by (what I believe) was my grandmother and grandfather (he had died many years before). Each year I am visited by the same thing the night before or on her death. Three years ago we moved to a new house. Guess what - on the night before her death, we got the visit again. The anniversary is coming up in a few weeks - my husband has seen and believes and when I shared my story with my mom, she believes as well.

We stayed in the 50's section with no problem. However, even though I'm a huge scaredy cat, I don't believe in "ghosts." I may change my mind should anything like that ever happen to me (that is if I don't faint dead away and smack my head on something causing amnesia). I am glad after hearing this, that I'm staying at SSR in December. ;)
