I made my first reservation today under the new system of booking on check in date instead of day by day on check out day. I got my Boardwalk view studio at BWV for 10/22-10/27 with no problem. I have to admit, I like making just the one phone call instead of getting up and having to call 5 mornings in a row.

We'll see if I like it as much the next time I try to book AKV concierge. That will be awhile though, maybe 2011. :)

Please forgive me, I'm new to DVC so I have no experience whatsoever in making reservations.

Can someone please elaborate a li'l about this "new" system?

It used to be you could reserve at your home resort 11 months from check-out date. It's now 11 months from check-in date, you can reserve up to 7 nights. Same with the 7 month window for non-home resorts.

I booked the first part of my June trip ( online request). It was 7month for VWL (Check-out date).I then got to thinking about the New rule and relised I could have booked my BCV 7 night stay as well. I called and got in with no problem ,so I have 3 nights VWL followed by 7 at BCV ending on the 26th.

I like the new rule but do see ways of getting an advantage for those that stay Sun-Fri only to get a 2 day head start and then just cancel the first 2 days.

I'm on countdown to book for arrival on 10/30/09. We are going for 10 days (9 nights) so I still will have to make two phone calls. I don't want to wait to make one call since we will be at BCV and that fills up fast. The new system is alot more efficient.
