D-Day –1

All up nice and early as we are going down to Gatwick to do the Twilight Check in. I have got some last minute thing to do that should have bean done the day before but what with the car and all is did not.

I head off to get my mum’s car cleaned in side and out (she lives on a farm). After giving £10 to the local car was and them doing a very good job, I get a call from my dad telling me that his car has just failed the MOT and needs a lot of work doing on it. End result is that I cannot use their car, so off to plan C, what ever plan C is.

After looking at one-way car hires, trains and 24-hour car hire, we settle on 24-hour car hire, with my day driving us down and then returning the car. Next problem, is at 16:00 when we decide to do this it will not let up pick that car up until 19:00, with does not leave us much time to get to Gatwick and check in. Plan D now.

Plan D ended up with a friend driving us down in his car. We set off at 18:30 and sat in traffic on the M1, but we got to Gatwick at 20:30 so we headed straight off to check in. This was ok. Virgin had lost all of the pre checking information, and I did not have the address of the villa that we are staying in on me, a quick call to a friend sorted this out.

After checking in he then gave us a lift to the B&B, with was 5 mils away from Gatwick. The Manor House (http://www.manorhouse-gatwick.co.uk/). It is and old house, but very nice. We order pizza and headed off to bed after arranging to leave at 08:45 in the morning to get to Gatwick by 09:00.
