I am looking for the code for teacher discounts at the Swan/Dolphin for 2009. In the past the rates have been around $159 but this year they don't seem to be discounting yet. The rate they quoted me was $219 for Feb. 21. ???????????????:confused3

I'm waiting for the discounts as well. I think you are correct that they have not been released yet.

We have a Govt. standard room discount booked through their website at the Dolphin for June 2009. The rate is $129. With taxes and the $10 resort fee the bottom line is $155/nt. HTH

You got lucky! :thumbsup2 Most of June 2009, the govt rate appears to be $189+$10+tax (still not a bad deal!)

Hi, Can you tell me who you are booking these through? I tried through the swandolphin.com site and there was no choice for teacher/support staff and the govt rates were about $300 per night, for 4/25/09 - 5/3/09.
Thanks....

I think I booked through the Starwood site. I'm going late June/early July.

I hope you don't mind a question on your thread, but I have been trying to find out about the teacher rate for 2009 as well (with no luck, yet) and I was curious if anyone knows how many rooms I can book with the rate...? (We have a big family and one room will not be enough.)
Thanks!:flower3:

I called again today and the rate is still 219. I will continue to check the rate. The website shows several available room rates (lots of rooms) sooo... seems to me if they want to get rid of them they will have to drop their rate. I dont know how many rooms are allowed.

The only way to get the teacher rate is to call the hotel directly.

I'd call the hotel directly, compare what they have, and also call starwood and see what they have!
The location of the hotel is so wonderful, if you can get a good rate it's a deal! We love the Swan and Dolphin!
Good luck!

Call them directly--teacher rates for 2009 have been out for a few months. I had a room booked with a teacher rate, but we decided to take advantage of the 4/3 offer instead.

Normally Dreams Unlimited has the discount rates, teachers included, posted but they don't appear to be listed for 2009 yet.
I needed to add 2 nights to my trip (govt. rate) and checked availability online, yep it was available, then called. The Dolphin wasn't showing up for all my dates according the the phone rep, so I canceled and rebooked online. I'm not sure why there's a difference between the hotel direct, the website, starwood...:confused3

This maybe a dumb question. I work for a school How do I get the teacher's rate? Is this a code you get from the school?
Thanks :confused3

you just need to show ID from your school or a paystub indicating that you are staff, or a letter from your principal on school letterhead. in the past they have had great discounts but I haven't seen such good ones lately.

You need to make sure the Teacher Rate is available for your dates. Call Swan/Dolphin reservations to check rates, availability, and to book the Teacher rate. (1-888-828-8850) Then just show your ID at check-in.

The 09 Teacher Rates have been out for quite awhile. Definitely book now because the # of rooms available for that rate is limited. They have the same booking/cancellation policy as a regular reservation: one night room + tax deposit, cancel up to 6 days prior to check-in for full refund. :)

you have to put a 1 night deposit and if you cancel within i think 14 days of arrival they give a full refund. i just canceled my reservation to take advantage of the free nights on site.

I just checked my paperwork. We have a 7/23 check-in date. "cancel before 6pm on 7/18 for a full refund; cancel after 6pm 7/18 and forfeit $XXX" (one night's rate sans tax/resort fee); a 6 day cancellation, like WDW's.
HTHs :)
