Live from the Turkey week Magic...first evening..a bit rough due to the wind and the gulfstream but not too bad...on our way down to CC...had the Dismeet at Studio Sea this afternoon, which worked out great b/c the weather while sunny, was windy and temp was in the 60's....had about 100 people in attendance...grab bag exchange very popular and successful...waiting for late dinner...entertainment includes the ventriloquist w/the 2 birds..very funny..and John Charles...the singer who can imitate just about anyone and is very good...we have seen both in the past, but they are very good...weather for CC tomorrow is supposed to be pretty good though the water will probably be chilly, especially for those of us used to bathwater like water in South Florida.

Weather at CC today was picture perfect...ok the water was a bit cool, but temps topped out about 79 and there was a nice cool breeze all day...couldn't ask for a much better day...this pm Bolt premiered in the main theater....but not in 3D, yet...the movie went over very well and the Bolt pins are selling very fast as are the Thanksgiving Day pins, even though it is only Sunday...saw lots of fellow Disboards folks out on the beach as well...time to hit dinner at Parrot's

Coming to you live from just off the NW coast of Cuba having passed Havana earlier today...just rolled out of the Palo brunch....stuffed as usual...seems like much of the Disboards group winds up at the same place...RLCook, 2X4, Disneypoor, SeadooKen (plus his friends) Cruiscrazy ++ and us were all there, and I may have missed a few....the weather is perfect again today w/highs in the mid 70's a cool breeze and warm sun...moderate seas are fine...Golden Mickeys matinee at 215 and Golden Mickeys menu for dinner...love that rack of lamb personally..
The FE traffic has been very heavy, but with nearly 50 kids and some adults on the exchange, that is not too surprising...

Live from, well almost to GC...we will be arriving there, but late...not sure yet of the true reason...as to Outlook, not sure...but plenty of other bars:cool1: ....as to dwarf, generally, get there early and get down front, but sometimes, they do pick from the back of the theater...by early, i mean about 20-30 minutes early....weather looks great again, though i suspect wind may make some water-based excursions a bit choppy...will check in later...

I am primarily using Deck 3 instead of lap top, but laptop works best in atrium, by the Buena Vista theater or on Deck 9 by the Cove Cafe...staterooms can be pretty sketchy...photo question i will have to look into if possible...lots of staff we recognize all over the boat though....weather at GC was perfect and most of the water excursions did go through as planned, albeit w/a bit of a late start as the winds died down some as the day progressed....we had luch at Breezes and then checked out the packed action at margaritaville...also lucked out when we discovered at Kirk freeport that one of the designer/carvers for Waterford was in town...had him engrave and date a couple pieces including a stingray that is available only in CG, not the local Macy's....Pirate's night went off w/out any issues and the weather today is once again picture perfect...if the weather holds tomorrow for CC part 2, this will probably have been the best overall weather we have seen in 7 cruises...but let's not jump ahead b/c you never know out here...that said, it has been a very good cruise thus far and we have constantly bumped into fellow dis'ers all over the boat and on land...
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Well today was more of the same...absolutely calm waters and picture perfect weather...had an interesting visit at CC today...the Wonder cruised by for a visit about noon and several rounds of dueling horns...those with cameras got the extremely rare live shot of both ships in the same picture, without using Photoshop or the like....Overall, we have had very good weather and a very good time...
Now it's time to say goodbye.....

The cruise was amazing. We rebooked for Thanksgiving 2010. While my immediate family (and me) would love to go next year, our extended family would be pretty mad if we escaped... I mean missed (not so much)... another holiday with them.

We also rebooked for 2010. We would love to go next Thanksgiving, but we are also afraid of a mutiny amongst the extended family. We have decided to continue the every other year Disney Cruise at Thanksgiving. (2006, 2008, 2010...) The price difference between the 2008 cruise and 2010 cruise was shocking.
I would have to say this was our best family trip to date. We teased each other about where we would be if we were on the ship right now. Calvin, our attendant, told us this morning that if we wanted to hide in the closet he would look the other way!:thumbsup2

I didn't want to get up this morning because I knew I was on land!
This was without a doubt the best family vacation ever. The weather was perfect and the last dip at CC was unbelievable. As DisneyPoor and Co. and I were standing in the water at Serenity Bay, along comes a stingray. And Brian, God bless him, found many unusual sea creatures which he shared with us. I did miss one display but Susan shared the photos!
My DH had his bare feet attacked by what he described as "Vicious Coral". The day was perfect and I knew once Tim (aka Billy Bob) had his second Konk Kooler it was time to go in for the kill. I gently suggested we could save money if we booked on board and his reply was "If that's what you want to do." Not wanting to waste time, once on the ship I RAN to the desk and sat in line in a wet suit! We booked a dummy date until we can get our dates together.
Ken - Tim said the jet ski tour was the best thing he's ever done. He was the tour that was out when the Wonder sailed by. He said it was amazing being that close to both ships. I asked him to take my underwater camera with him but he refused. I would have loved to have pics of both so close. I'll have to settle with the ones I took from land. The owner of the Jet Ski tour told me that this is only the 2nd time in 10 years that both ships have passed each other at CC. Tim also told me he would consider buying a jet ski and keeping it at my mother's in Erie so he could take it on the lake!

I'm also planning on WDW next summer - probably the end of June when we can take advantage of the buy 4 get 3 free offer. I hope you Floridians can swing by and we could all visit again. Maybe a reunion on Main Street?:yay:

The weather in question was just high winds. The route to GC had us headed into the wind which slowed us down. In addition, they slowed the boat down from the normal cruising speed to minimize the amount of ship movement. They didn't want people getting motion sickness.

Some of the things in our FE:
magnets, postcards, candy (yum), a CD of fun music(I listen to it a lot and it brings back wonderful memories), PEZ dispensers, pins, light up pins, light up glasses (for Pirate night), glow bracelets and necklaces, hacky sack balls, nylon totes, pens, pencils, notebooks, tablets, homemade scrapbooks that we could put our pics in when we got home. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but it really was a lot of fun!!! Some folks put so much work into their gifts and that was really special and appreciated. They don't have to be a lot, it's just fun to come back to your room and find that someone has been there and thought of you. Our Turkey cruise had a lot of special people on it and it is a memory I will never forget!

Good morning everyone,
I can't seem to find it now, but somewhere there is a post of the shutters pic of the Magic, Flying Dutchman, and Wonder. I copied it and then printed it off on photo paper. It turned out great. If I can find it, I'll post the thread and post number.
We truly enjoyed the FE exchange. I took pics of everyones FE for a page in my scrapbook EXCEPT I forgot to take pics of ours and our doors. I thought that I had, but I didn't. Kept thinking about it and guess my mind thought that I had because I thought of it so many times. Didn't get any photos of our door either.
I should have taken a photo on the last day because someone took one of the Ariel photos off of the door.

If I can send the pic to someone via email who knows how to post it, I can do that. I have an account with one of the photo groups (can't remember which one) and never was able to get a photo to load. OH it's photobucket.
I don't remember if I told anyone any follow-up about our private tour of Cozumel. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Susan met us at Margarettaville (spelling) sorry Buffet fans. She took us past the governors home and by the Mexican Air Force base, to the complete other end of the island, went shell searching on the beach (it was only us and we got some gorgeous shells), took us to the ruins, thru ElCedral, ate lunch at Wet Wendy's great food, and then visited a pinata factory that was closed for siesta. It was a truly wonderful experience and Susan was the greatest. Going to mention them to our TA.

Beth,
We were on deck 6, and my door was decorated way too much.:rotfl: However, it was a great landmark and I think it helped many people find their rooms. We didn't have any trouble at all with theft. We zip tied our FE to our fish, but no one even touched our magnets on our door as far as we could tell. It was a lot of fun!

Marykatesmom,
I am with Chuck. Each time I went to deliver I did not see any FE's missing. They were all there and some door signs were changing, but it did not appear that any walked away on any of the decks I walked
There were people outside of our door joking about stealing the FE, but not actually doing it. And we were at a place where lots of people passed including a lot of kids activities so we were pleasantly surprised to not have a thing diappear and only have nice messages on our doors.
