Ok, so we are having an intimate reception. A total of 20 guests including the bride and groom. As our day gets closer I start to get paranoid about the weirdest things. Today's topic is the first dance! We do not have a DJ and are using the iPod setup for music. Who announces the first dance? It just seems so corny to me to just get up and dance with no sort of formal announcement. What did you do without the DJ present? Thanks for the tips and advice!!

My BFF (who is also getting ordained to marry us) is going to announce us. Do you have someone in your group that isn't shy that will do this?

I am having my cousin act as a master of ceremonies. The wedding planner is aware of this and she is going to work with him on timing, etc.

We're having 75 guests and still using the iPod setup. We're having his uncle be the MoC :)

I felt the opposite! :goodvibes We had 34 guests, and I would have felt cheesy being "announced" to such a small group, especially since we'd been with them the whole day already.

DH's cousin ran the iPod, and he may have said something like "Hey, everybody!" but our going over to the dance area to start our first dance seemed to be enough of a hint. :)
