Best rooms at the Polynesian Lagoon View

My DH, DS-9, DD-6 and I will be visiting WDW from 6/5-6/12 and staying at the Polynesian. We stayed there in 99 and had a great view but our room smelled terribly from cigarette smoke. Whatever they did the room still smelled and they had no other rooms available with the Lagoon view of the Magic Kingdom. I understand some of the other rooms smell musty also. My DH wanted to stay at the Yacht Club but the Poly is my favorite. I don't want this to happen again so my question is: Does anyone know a specific room or area (Hawaii, Tahitti) that we can request that will not have an odor with the Lagoon view looking at the castle?

Tahiti is a non smoking building so try there.

We stayed in Tahiti a couple of weeks ago. We had a great view of the Castle and Space Mountain.

We stayed in the Tokelau longhouse in September, and it smelled just fine. We were on the second floor - if that makes a difference. But, then again, I'm not sure if that longhouse has a lagoon view...I did have a nice view of Space Mountain, though.

We stayed at the Tahiti building back when it was called Moorea and it was lovely. The view was great and it was so handy to walk over to the TTC.

Have a wonderful time. The Poly is definitely (in my opinion) the most romantic and magical resort!

Tahiti (Moorea) is wonderful ask for the 3rd floor great view of the castle! And fireworks! No foul smell at all, and trust me we have asthma! Tahiti is one of the only buildings with larger bathrooms 2 sinks!:D
