Sorry if this has been posted already - I did do a search.

I know us UK drivers are few and far between but wanted to warn anyone with Speed Ferries bookings that they may be cancelled. Sadly they are in administration at the moment - speedferries.com for more info.

We've used them the past two years and they were basic but great.

Hopefully this affects nobody here but wanted to warn people just in case.

Dover port were very slow to react they could have impounded the craft to help with the moneys owed, however Boulonge have done that, although the French port is rumoured to be owed about £800k & Dover £300-500k in port fees. French law means that it isn't going to release the craft until they get some of the money.

I never thought it would be much of a sucess, they went into something that already had a lot of competition & then they started to say the ferry companies were sabotaging them:confused3 also whenever we were down the docks, I never saw anyone at the Speedferry booths, whereas all the traffic was with Seafrance & P&O

I do hope that there isn't anyone affected on here as I can't see it being settle soon if ever.

Ah thanks for the info, I didn't know all that.

We've used them twice (off peak) and they packed on a lot of cars. Seemed to be so cheap though. We were getting returns for under £50 per car with a crossing time of only 45mins.

We looked into it but we only got cheap deals if booked way in advance, which we never do as the weather could be really bad.
