Not sure how many people know of this strike as the travel agent my friend booked her holiday with knew nothing of this, so I hope this info may HELP others and not create a PANIC.
National strike of the pilots in France from November 14th to 17th
French airline pilots´ unions have unanimously called a four-day strike from Friday 14 November at one minute past midnight to Monday 17 November at midnight, to protest against changes to the retirement age currently under discussion in the French Parliament (changing from 60 to 65)
Air France is expecting very severe disruptions to its operations and apologizes to passengers in advance for this highly regrettable situation.
Air France´s normal daily flight schedule comprises 760 medium-haul flights from all its stations and 73 long-haul flights from Paris.
As for Friday November 14th, 60% of Air France long-haul flights and 50% of its short and medium-haul flights are maintained.
Disruption on our partners' network (Brit Air, CityJet, Régional, CCM and Airlinair) should be less important and should mainly affect BritAir. Around 80% of our partners scheduled flights will operate.
The flight schedule to be operated each day will be published the evening before at about 8 pm. Air France cannot however rule out the risk of last-minute cancellations, i.e. at the time of departure.
Passengers who intend to continue with their trip as planned should find out whether their flight is likely to operate by consulting on this site "Book on line / Flight status", which will be constantly updated with detailed flight cancellation information.
Air France will of course do its utmost to ensure that its passengers are transferred to other airlines, depending on space available.
Air France has set up a toll free number, available in France : 0800 240 260.
Passengers abroad can obtain information by calling + 33 157 02 10 55 or by contacting their usual reservations center.

If you leave on the 19th - the strike is over so don't worry. You may have a delay as they try to get everything back to normal but I think you will be fine!:goodvibes

If you check the official air france website, there is a flight status section that will lookup all the air france flights between two airports for either yesterday, today or tomorrow (relative to the current date). You can also put your exact flight number in for the same dates.
This will then tell you the status of the flights, including whether they have been cancelled or not.
They've already published some details for flights as late as tomorrow night, so they seem to be quite good at publishing the information - even if it's only on the internet.

tomorrow -
DH has just come back to the room - the hotel reception have been very helpful and have phoned air France and been told the flight we are meant to be on is not cancelled and we are still on it although all the websites say it is cancelled. They have advised we ring again at 9.00am tomorrow morning so we need to wait and see whats happening.

Just to let you know we have just arrived home.
The flight we should have been getting this evening was cancelled but we still had no confirmation about this from AirFrance - they wouldnt confirm it on the phone -so fortunately (because we couldnt get info from Air France over the phone) we decided to head to the airport early afternoon to try to get on an earlier one.
We got to check in desk at 2.50 and were old we could get on the 3.45 which was boarding at 3.10 so it was a mad dash through passport control and then we were whisked to a separate security check queue.
Its all been very stressful and not knowing was the worst. We have actually arrived home to EMails from Air France sent at 1.00 Saturday morning telling us the flight was canceled yet when we were speaking to them on the phone yesterday they were saying it wasnt.
So no thanks to Air France but a big thank you to Kyriad hotel and City Hall for spending ages yesterday and this morning trying to get it all sorted and also to everyone on here for help and goodwishes :goodvibes

It spoiled today a bit but we arrived earlier on Friday so had the afternoon there which we shouldnt have and the park was so much quieter on Friday so we're trying not to think of it as having spoiled it too much

Just thought Id let you all know the latest on this
DH sent an Email to Air France yesterday about the hassle we had with this - mainly being told by the helpline that the flight wasnt cancelled although the website said it was.
Anyhow we received an Email back today with 3 vouchers for flights worth £215 each to be taken within the next 12 mths.
I feel another trip coming on :goodvibes

Am I right that that's £645 compensation? Wow!!!!!!!!! I wish our flight would get cancelled/delayed...only don't think Easyjet would be as generous. On a more serious note though I am glad that it didn't ruin your holiday :goodvibes
