The Introduction

Hi, my name is Katie and I'll be getting married in Disney this June. My finance and I met in high school, starting dating senior year, and have been dating ever since. Our first date was May 19, 2001...so it's been a while.

Anyway, after we graduated college we moved in together and this past summer he proposed while we were in Disney World. Neither of us have big families and we just saw a traditional wedding here in Chicago at a banquet hall as a waste of money...the rubbery and tasteless chicken, cringing through the electric slide, watching people we barely ever see take a sip from a drink and then set it down, etc, etc, etc. We considered Vegas for a bit, but I have always been obsessed with Disney, so Disney it was!

Here is a picture of us at a dinner cruise on the lake that we went to on my birthday.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Dis/us.jpg

Here is a picture of the ring. I picked it out a couple months before we went to Disney, so I knew it was coming eventually. I have been obsessing about heart-cut diamonds since high school, so I definitely wanted to pick it myself:

Ok, now that the boring stuff is over...

The Details

I've edited all of this since I originally posted to reflect the most recent decisions...

Escape wedding @2:30pm

Location: Sea Breeze Point.

Officiant: Ron Rosenweig

Photography: Studio 222 http://www.thestudioishere.com/

The Dress: At first I didn't care at all about my dress. My prom dress was white and if I still fit in it, I might have considered it. But once I started trying them on, I got the *bride bug* and really started to care. I went to House of Brides myself about a week ago and saw a dress I really liked. After I scratched the prom dress, I thought I could get a dress for like $500. Well this dress was about $850. Later in the week I made an appointment at a boutique in Chicago and went with my mom. I tried on a ton of dresses. Probably around 25-30. And all I kept doing was trying to find a dress similar to the HOB one. Well I went back to HOB with my mom and sister and got the dress. I didn't want to keep running around town when I knew what I wanted. After tax it was in the middle 900's. So much for the budget! :scared: And don't even get me started on the alteration charges that are coming...

I don't have pictures. The sample dress was green anyway. The picture on the designers website does not do the dress justice. I don't even want to post it because you will all think I picked a monstrosity. Also, the website picture is gold colored . I chose ivory. I thought the white was too white. You'll just have to trust me that it's good until you see the pics in June ;)

After Ceremony: Bluezoo

The Dessert Party: Morocco

Decor: Had my appointment with Rosie. Everything is in progress currently. I will post details once it's all finalized.

Welcome Party: Originally I planned on Ohanas, but my dad said "**Expletive** the welcome party" :earseek: Woah! He said it was a waste of money and prefered to go to some Orlando racetrack with 'the boys' and the girls can go shopping. lol. Well, I'm not gonna argue, it will save some money!

Hotel: Beach Club Villas. I started out with Contemp ressies, changed to Grand Floridian, changed again to Boardwalk Villas, and am now set on Beach Club!

Ok, I have blabbered enough. More to come later! Hopefully this will be a satisfying PJ for people since the wedding is right around the corner! I'm currently reading about a few that are happening in 2010...these journals make me even more nervous because my wedding is exactly 210 days away and have sooooooo much to do!!!!

Hi PrincessShea! :goodvibes You have a great start to your PJ! I'm also from Chicagoland and agree that a big banquet wedding here would be way too expensive for us. We are still planning on an at-home reception for the family and friends who can't make the trip to disney, however, it will be a 'hey, come celebrate with us' type thing! Can't wait to read more of your plans! :thumbsup2

ps ~ your ring is GORGEOUS!

Some Jewelry

Hello all! Just wanted to update because I got my necklace today all the way from Hong Kong! I actually took this idea from another Disbride. A lot of stuff in this PJ will seem familiar to you all, since I am stealing so many ideas! :lmao:

Anyway, here it is. When I told my mom I was wearing a mickey necklace, she rolled her eyes and said it would be tacky, but she was very surprised and thought the necklace was really nice. Granted, its from Hong Kong, so I am sure it is an imitation of the real thing--whatever the real thing is--but regardless I think it's really pretty and will look nice with my dress!

First off congratulations, I LOVE YOUR RING!!!!

I also love your necklace, it looks similar to mine but yours has Mickey's, fantastic.

DP - Would they let you have the UK lover? I had that as my first option but a convention got it on my date as they were a bigger group. I had 10 guests.

MK Photos - I was also in two minds about these photos because of the cost and my DH hated the idea of getting out of bed at that time. But getting married at Disney and having the pictures in front of the castle in my dress sold me. And we really did both enjoy the experience.

Can't wait to see more of your plans.

Congrats! I'm enjoying reading your journal. What made you decide on Narcoosee's? :)

Thanks!

Well, I considered the private room at Citrico's at first. I believe though that I have read the first seating is at 6:30, which would be too late if we want a DP. I don't know if they would accommodate us earlier than that, but I guess I just like the food choices at Narcoossees better...Crab cakes and Mahi Mahi...Mmmmm. The Italian type food at Citrico's would be ok though. I also think it might be better to be in a bustling restaurant since there will only be 10-15 of us and that will make the atmosphere more lively. But it will be awkward I guess when we are all dressed up and everyone else there is in t-shirts!

Now when I talked about the $12,500 cost so far, keep in mind that I am including things like my dress, hair and makeup, Ohanas, etc in that. When I add up the things that are through DFTW, I still do not think we would come even close to $10,000. Also, there is no way we'd hit the room minimums, as again only 10-15 people are coming, and over half are 100% staying off property....hence the Escape wedding.

Congrats on starting a pj!! Your ideas sound great so far! The necklace is very pretty and what a cute pic of you and df!!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Thanks! First off I just wanna say I really enjoy your TR. Your whole wedding seemed fantastic. And when I read your report I imagine an English accent saying everything which makes it even more fabulous ;)

I asked my WP about other locations and she said Morocco was the only choice due to size...so who knows. What they tell brides though does seem really inconsistent. I'm not totally opposed to Morocco...we were in Disney this past June and we watched Illuminations near the crepe cart in France, and looking back at my pictures the infamous tree that blocks the view is in the same line of vision as the view we had by the cart, and I didn't even notice it. I just wish there were more pictures online! It seems like there are none of actual DP's there!

And again, I feel the same way about the pictures. I know in the end I will probably just do it because I always regret it. I just pray I have at least one good shot I can get an 8X10 of as I am an impoverished teacher and those pictures are basically an entire paycheck :lmao:

Sorry for the quality but here is a pic of my 'save the dates.' I just bought some cardstock at Michaels and some red envelopes. Then I downloaded a Disney font and bought some scrapbooking stickers and voila! I thought they were pretty slick, but I made them before I started reading this board...so I know they are nothing compared to the masterpieces some people here have made! But I have grand plans for the real invitations now! People seem to hate doing them, but I enjoy crafts and look forward to the project!

Hey Ladies. Thought I'd post about some of the indecisive madness I've been going through the past few days. :surfweb:

Well, if you look a few posts up, you would see that I posted about how I didn't think I would come close to Wishes minimums. Well I started to play around with the wishbook, and I think I could do it! The thing that aggrevated me the most is that I used the wishbook to add up the cost of what I get with an Escape package...and well, it doesn't even come close to $4500 :sad2:

My biggest problem with the escape package is zero options for eating afterwords. I originally went with an escape because with 10-14 guests (including me and df)...well, Wishes made no sense. But I have been struggling like crazy about what do to after the ceremony. If you asked me in September, I would've said decisively, "We are going to Narcoossees afterwords". I had no second thoughts. I LOVE (and I mean LOVE) crabcakes and mahi mahi. That is a dream meal. So Narcoossees seemed perfect. And I didn't worry about clothing because at the time I thought I would just change out of my dress and all the guests would be casual. But then....

...I got my dress. Trust me it's magical! I always thought I would get something super simple and super A-line. Well, my dress is not. So now I want to get my money-worth from that baby! I don't want to change out of it and I want everyone dressed up. I'm going with my sisters next week to get bridesmaid dresses. I know I can wear my dress in the restaurants, but I am such a shy little baby, I feel like I'd be too embarrassed about being so out of place.

So I started to think I should just pay for Wishes. Well I have run into several issues. First, the date has to change. The minimums for weekends are $20,000. June 12 is Friday, so that would have to change.

Also, June 12-18 is basically all that works for our families, so it has to be then. Grrrr, this is the only time I curse being a teacher because I would love to just have an easy middle of October wedding when the parks are empty and there is less hassle! But alas, I have no choice :teacher: (always wanted to use that smilie!)

Well, Disney tells me that June 18 is the only day SeaBreeze Point and White Hall at the GF (a place small enough for for my guest count I guess)is available at 2:30. But then I find out today that there will be no DP's that day :sad2: So June 18 is out of the question. A DP is a must for me. The weird thing is that WC said there are no DPs that day because Epcot projects peak attendance. They project peak attendance for a Thursday, but not a Friday? :confused3 Must be an EMH day. Regardless, with the 4 for 3 deal (a sign of the economy I assume) I can't believe Disney is projecting any peak days this summer...

I'm waiting to hear back about June 15-17. I'm willing to have it somewhere other than SBP. The YCG would be ok. I don't even really care about the reception location. I just want a room. I do want a DP though and would really prefer a 2:30 time (just so everything flows into each other). I also do not want an Epcot ceremony because there is no way I am waking up early ;) and I want an outside photographer (which I wouldn't be able to have at Epcot).

...which leads to another issue. I would have to hope that Ron R. is able to change the date, otherwise I am out those deposits :headache: .

So maybe I will just stick with the escape package already booked for June 12. Right now I am investigating private dining in restaurants at The Swan/Dolphin. We stayed there in June and I really like it. It works with the SBP location, because everyone can just walk and then we can easily walk to the International Gateway for the DP. That would be great to save on transportation costs. I really like Bluezoo. Waiting to hear back about minimums. I just got a reply from Shula's and the minimum is $1000 for the 'Sideline' room. I dunno how I feel about the sports theme though :confused3 I guess $1000 is what Narcoossees would've cost, so it would work. Plus it'd be private. (I have a feeling the Bluezoo minimums are going to be ridiculous).

Finally (sorry for the novel here!) I think I'm gonna nix the MK photoshoot. The more I look at other people's, the less I like them. Yes, some pics here and there are nice...but for $1000? No. All I really want is a picture in front of the castle in daylight. I don't like the ones inside the castle (looks too Medieval Times to me) or the ones on the Carousel, etc. I also don't like the pictures taken before sunrise. I think I might just use the stupid Honeymoon shoot I get and take some pictures of us in front of the castle in nicer casual clothes. Or maybe an Epcot shoot? I am not a Cinderella girl. I am a Beauty and the Beast girl and would love a nice picture in front of the Stain glass BB windows in France. Who knows though. As you can see I change my mind every 5 seconds!!!!

If you area interested in any info about the Swan/Dolphin private rooms, just ask and I'll post them as I get them.

Well if you got this far, I'm sorry to bore you...but sometimes it's nice to just clear your head by typing things out :thanks:

Wow! Are you in my brain? This is EXACTLY what I'm struggling with. I am so sorry you are going through this madness. It does help to either talk or write it out. Thank you so much for posting. I NEVER even thought of private dining locations at the Swan/Dolphin. I would love to read any information you may obtain about private dining at the Swan/Dolphin. :thumbsup2

The point is to have a nice event, stay in the dress as long as possible, but stay within budget! Good luck and wishing many blessings to come your way. It will all work out

:goodvibes Thanks! I know what you mean. All I wanted was something simple and to have a fun week with my family in Disney World. But I feel like Carrie in Sex and the City...once I got the dress things got out of control :lmao: If I can get a private room at one of these S/D restaurants, I am definitely just gonna stick with the escape package.

The private party menus for Shulas are here, (http://www.swandolphin.com/dining/pr_shulas.html) and I got more specific info in an email today. It seems like a lot, but the $1000 minimum is basically what it'd cost to eat at Narcoossees. And they have crab cake and mahi mahi! The pictures of the place look nice...but I still don't know about the sports theme. I'll post Swan/Dolphin private dining info as I get it!:surfweb:

Everything you have written was exactly the way I felt. We originally was going to have an escape but changed to a Wishes because I wanted a full day and a nice private meal. And my dress was staying on me :rotfl2:

When I originally phoned Disney I only had 8 guests and they said I may have to justify why I wanted the wishes option but that was so easy because with everything I wanted on the wish book I was hitting just under the $10,000 without any food!

I was so worried about having to pay a bill at the end of the meal and then not having enough money etc, I wanted it all paid for on the day so I didn't have to worry about a thing.

Could you not have a wishes dessert party in the grounds of the GF, I have seen some girls have these?

Could you not have a wishes dessert party in the grounds of the GF, I have seen some girls have these?

That's true, but I'd prefer the more lively atmosphere of Epcot. I think the 12-14 of us are going to be tired of staring at just each other all day :lmao:

Well, many decisions were made today during lunch period! Again, not sure if anyone cares but maybe a window into the madness will help another bride later on ;)

I decided to just stick with the escape package. I have contacted Bluezoo at the Dolphin and they have a private room available June 12. I haven't received the menus yet, but even if the minimum is $2000, it will still be less than wishes.

I also cancelled my reservation at the Grand Floridian. Yes, it would be cool to stay at a monorail resort, and the same resort that the Tanner family visited on the magical Full House episode where Michelle learned a valuable life lesson about sharing (BEST.SHOW.EVER ;) )... but I just have too many reservations about transportation logistics. I wanted to stay the Beach Club, but found a Boardwalk Villa for the dates we need that's the same price as a BC standard room (no Beach Club Villas were available :headache:). I'm not gonna lie, the clown pool scares me, but I think for the room size, it's worth it. On the wedding day, with my mom and sisters in the room and the makeup artist, it will just be better with a villa. I'll of course still keep my eyes open for BCV between now and June!

So the plan is SBP @ 2:30
Bluezoo @ 5:30
Morocco DP @ 8:30

So everything will be walking distance! Plus after the ceremony, it will be easy for my family to just go chill in our room while we take pictures since there will be time between the ceremony and dinner. Phew. I feel better about things! Maybe tonight I'll actually be able to sleep! :scared:

Still pouring over the MK photoshoot. Also considering a character at the cake cutting ceremony. More to come eventually, including operation weightloss at the YMCA!

Would DFTW decorate a private dining room at the Swan/Dolphin? Or do you think it wouldn't be a problem to get an outside florist to do a little decoration in a private dining room? I think this may be a better solution :)

I don't know. I have a phone appointment with Rosie in a couple weeks. I will also speak with the coordinator at the Dolphin to see if they can do anything. However, I think the room looks nice enough as it is, and I don't know if I even want to waste money decorating it, especially since there will not be professional pictures there. I just wish I could rip up the bridesmaids bouquets and use them somehow as decoration because I am still aggravated on what a waste of money those will be

The Shoe Conundrum

You aren't really planning if you aren't obsessing over something, right? Well this week's dilemma revolves around the all important topic of shoes!

Ah shoes. Let me just say you'll see this smiley a lot when I discuss shoes

Now part of me wanted to wear some fabulous 4 inch heels. But then the practical part of me remembers that I am a spaz and despite having several nice pairs of heels, they mostly sit in the closet because I can't walk in them. On the first day of school I wore some nice heels, and boy did I pay for it later :sad2:

The wedding is outside, there is going to be a lot of walking, so flats it is!

Now some back story...Prior to Black Friday I repeatedly said to anyone who would listen; 'you are crazy if you go out. I am boarding myself up in my apartment and weathering the storm.'

Sure enough, Black Friday rolls around. DF and I wake up at around 8:30. I ask him what he wants to do. "Whatever you want to do," he says.

Me: ...Let's go downtown :yay:

So like a couple of lemmings heading towards the edge of a cliff, we get on a train and off we go!

The first stop is Macy's on State St. Right up to the 4th floor for shoes! I see them...

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/sandal2.jpg

Perfect. They are flat, they are sandals, and they are sparkley! I take a closer look.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/sandal1.jpg

The pictures do not do them justice. They are amazing. Next comes the part I dread. I turn them over. :scared1:

I turn to DF. "Guess how much these cost." He takes a breathe "A hundred dollars."

"Keep going," I say.
"$200."
"Keep going."
"$300"
"Keep going."
"$400"
"Keep going."
":scared1: Are you serious! $500"
"Keep going."
"People are starving. $600."
I gesture upwards with my thumb
"$700"

"Yep," I finally reply. "$695. So with tax; $765."

He says nothing, grabs my arm and we leave  I will definitely be checking back for sales and crossing my fingers it ends up an outlet store before June :rotfl2:

Next stop is Michigan Avenue. DF finds a Borders where he spends some money on DVDs and then decides to park it with some coffee and read while I go in more "girl stores."

I go to Neiman Marcus. The one day of the year where there are enough people in the store so the sale associates don't harass me (harass me as in try to get me out of there since it's obvious I don't belong :headache:)

Again, straight to shoes. It's kind of a madhouse, because all the sale shoes which are 40% (I think) are now additionally 30% off of sale price. I spot these:
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/blueflip.jpg

How precious! And they would fix my "something blue" problem. Also, I would definitely wear them again, right!?!! So I flag someone down to get me a size 40.

He brings out a 40 and 41, because they run small. Well a size 40 is a US size 10. I am between an 8.5 and 9. So the 41 is a US size 11. But I try on the 41 first. It is ridiculous. I am spilling over the edge with my giant monkey feet. They are so narrow, and look ridiculous. You need really dainty, small feet to pull them off. For $300, forget it. They have to be perfect.

Defeated, I head over to Bloomindale's before I head back to Borders. They have nothing. And it's a zoo. However, I see these:

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/mouse1.jpg

How adorable. They are almost exactly like a similar pair I bought over the summer. The mouse face wasn't printed on the shoe, rather the features were embellishments, so it gave the shoe dimension. I ended up returning the shoes because I paid full price and figured I would rather spend the money on something I'd wear more often (I didn't know back then I'd be needing a lot of mouse-related stuff!!!)

Of course they didn't have the style I bought months ago. So it was back to Borders and then back home to search the Internet for the shoes I let slip away....

I'll just say now that I did find them online, ordered two different colors, and they are supposed to be delivered Tuesday. I will take pics and post when I receive them so you can see some 'real' pictures, rather than these one's I 'borrowed' from the Internet ;)

PrincessShea

Well the shoes arrived early! They are actually kind of big, so I am returning them for a smaller size, but here are the pics anyway.

I also got a silver pair, but think these will go better with the dress:

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_1872.jpg

Taking pictures of your feet in front of a mirror is really awkward :scared:

For now...;) :lmao:

PrincessShea-

Hi there! Loving your PJ so far!
Us too (tee hee) will be having a 2:30 ceremony at SBP, dinner (at Jiko's Wine Room) at 5:30 and Morocco DP at 8:30....

I just wanted to interject...have you checked with your WP about the walking from IG to Morocco in your dress?

I know we're all told different things, but Tanis is my coordinator and we had a long talk about DP logistics before she left for maternity leave...I was told if I wanted to wear my dress for the DP, I would have to enter "backstage" and would not be able to walk from IG in my dress as it is too far....

Unless, your'e not planning on wearing your dress...but I know you are!!! :)

So, just confirm with your coordinator.....

Can't wait to hear more!!!

Tis better to beg forgiveness than ask permission :lmao: I was told our guests could walk from IG and that transportation is not necessary. I have no problem entering backstage, but I am 100% not paying for some $500 bus to transport 1 person. If I can use the limo to do it, sure. But frankly I'm not bringing up the dress.

Also, I showed my mom the shoes today and she said I was "a weird one" :lmao:

12-03-2008, 07:29 PM
Oh no, you should be good then...yep, guests can walk in from IG, only brides having DP's in Morocco have to enter through backstage if they are in their dress and so yes, you can use the limo...this is basically what I'm doing as well...:thumbsup2 for us!! LOL

So, yay!!!!!:yay:

I was so worried about having to pay a bill at the end of the meal and then not having enough money etc, I wanted it all paid for on the day so I didn't have to worry about a thing.

I'm confused....if your coordinator arranges/books the dinner or lunch and/or dessert party then they are on your BEO and is due before the wedding with the rest of it. So, those meals would be pre-paid...

I think a lot of Escape brides think they have to book the meal themselves, but that may or may not necessarilty be true. I was told that that they (the coordinators) can book any meal on the wedding date and sometimes even a dessert party the night before if it's not offered on your night (April brides ie).

Any other meals, we have to book ourselves (now if only we could make our ADR's!!!!) Aargh!!!!

I don't know for sure, but how can the meal be on the BEO if there isn't a set price? For example, if an escape bride had their WC book a casual dinner at Narcoosees, who knows what people are going to order, so how can you possibly pre-pay (assuming people order off the menu).

I don't know for sure though; maybe other escape brides who've actually gone through it will know better. I'll never find out for sure though since I'm not going through Disney for my dinner anyway now.

Yeah, I guess your'e right, but I know some restaurants do have a set menu you order from, I think Narcoossee's or Citrico's does and I know Jiko does because that's what we're doing, so you actually are paying per person..

But yeah for you, it wouldn't come in to play though...I was just confused there for a second! :rotfl:

Photography

Well I have made yet another change. I have decided to go with Studio 222 for photography. http://www.thestudioishere.com/

As I surfed around and read other people's TR's, I really started to like the style of The Root's. I got in touch with them and unfortunately they were totally out of my price range and unable to go down on the price. Their brochure has a package for $4000 for 4 hours.

Luckily though, they were nice enough to recommend Studio 222. :goodvibes I am getting 4 hours coverage with a DVD of the images and 2 photographers for $1200. Much better on the wallet!

Once I was referred I kind of became obsessed with their website. I really like the style and I think I made a good decision. I am excited; they seem like really nice people, and I am interested to see how things turn out...I just worry that our photos will never look like their portfolio ones, because we aren't...how does one say this...as photogenic and as blessed in the looks department as their other clients :lmao:

Bluezoo has a signed contract from me and the deposit. Once the date gets closer we will finalize menus and stuff, but that is one less thing to stress about.

I've also contacted Patricia LeJeune and am waiting to hear back from her about hair and makeup. I want my sister's hair done too, but I don't know if Patricia has a team of people. If she doesn't, I think that might be too much for one person to do in a couple hours and I'll have to go with someone else.

Christmas break starts at the end of this week, so I am hoping I can get some stuff done over it! I may try to tackle the invitations. I am also trying to lose weight, but with the holidays and stress of school; well...:sad2:

Lorelei528
12-19-2008, 11:28 AM
Patricia does have at least one assistant, because she came along for my trial run and it's her assistant who is doing my mom, my MOH and Eoghan's mom...

Both are INCREDIBLY SWEET!!!

Patricia will be doing my hair and makeup at 4:30am for my MK and EPCOT photo shoot...and I don't think she was available later to do my other peeps...

Yea, Patricia does have a team. Her head stylist is Kristy and is awesome. She did my trial run. She did exactly what I told her to do. I am going for a different look because I decided that wasn't the look I wanted, but I have complete confidence in them both. The airbrush make up is awesome. I got it put on at 9:30 and it lasted through our e-pics at 3:30 and then we went to the park. I was so exhausted that I went crashed without washing my face and it was still on the next day. :rotfl:

Phone Appointment with Rosie

Well, I had my phone appointment with Rosie. Let me just say INFORMATION OVERLOAD :rotfl:

I have so many decisions to make apparently! I am waiting for her to send me pictures of the things we talked about.

I decided to have a hand tied French bouquet. I will probably have a variety of bright pink roses with accents of purple/bluish hydrangeas or delphiniums. She wanted to know what color I wanted the bouquet tied with...I was like "I could not care less." LOL. I didn't even know that would be something people obsess about.

I guess you can also reduce the bridesmaid bouquet from 18 to 12 roses to change the price from $125 to $75. I think I might do that because who really cares. It'll make my bouquet look bigger too :lmao:

She is also going to send me some information about SBP decor. I told her I don't really know what my options are, since I am just going off what I see online. I told her though that I definitely want the chairs covered. She told me this is the website to look at for color choices http://linenshowroom.com/index.cfm?action=catalog Thought it would be helpful to post that, because I don't believe I've ever seen the link on these boards, and it's pretty helpful and thorough :thumbsup2

Here is some annoying information about the chairs. I am only going to have the ceremony chairs covered because apparently there is a whole separate setup for cake-cutting chairs. I said "can't we just use the ceremony chairs for the cake-cutting?" The answer is apparently no. 1. There is no one to move the chairs because my coordinator is the only person who will be there from Disney 2. They don't want guests moving them. LOL. I am pretty sure we are all capable of moving a plastic yard chair. Whatever. So I am only going to pay to have the ceremony chairs covered.

Then we talked about favors and decor for the dinner. I really would rather not pay to decorate Bluezoo because there aren't going to be professional pictures, and who really cares honestly? But apparently, Disney can indeed help decorate restaurants in the Dolphin/Swan (in case anyone is thinking about D/S for the dinner).

I originally thought about getting mickey hats as favors and place cards, but I think I might scratch it, because I know my family and no one will wear the hats, so it will be a waste of money. I am probably going to the chocolate place cards instead. Again, waiting for pics from Rosie.

I forgot to ask her about the unity candle :headache: I've read conflicting reports about whether or not you can have one at SBP. I want something to kill time during the ceremony. I've read through Ron's ceremony, and as a teacher I have a pretty good idea of how long things will turn out to be when I see them on paper. The ceremony is honestly going to be like 10 minutes :scared1: So I wanted the candle to add a little bulk to the ceremony. I know the sand ceremony is an option, but I dunno. I'd have to find some really nice containers. I would prefer the candle.

So to end, I thought I would post my song selections*

Groom's entrance: Someday my prince will come, Snow White
Bridal Party entrance: Colors of the Wind, Pocahontas
Bride's entrance: Bridal Chorus "Here comes the bride"
Unity candle: Beauty and the Beast, Beauty and the Beast
Recessional: Once Upon a Dream, Sleeping Beauty
Cake Celebration: Disney medley

*subject to change ;)

Invitations

Hello Disers. Hope everyone had a happy holiday! Can't believe it's going to be 2009 in a couple days!

The latest update I have are the invitations. They took a long time to do, even though it probably won't look like it.

Let's say you win a golden ticket from moi! Here is what people will see in their mailboxes. The pink stamps look much better in real life. I used special embossing power and cured them with heat, so they are raised. Doesn't photograph though.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/inviteenvelop.jpg

Upon opening...
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/envelope.jpg

Oooo, look what's inside! I almost hate putting these online because they look a lot better in real life. All the white pages are delicately glittery and look really sparkly in real life.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/invite.jpg

Here is a better look at the right side. I want to show the accent panel behind the invite. It is such a pretty glittery blue in real life.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/invitecloser.jpg

A closeup of the crystal mickey at the bottom. The swirls are embossed as well, but again, hard to see in the photo.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/crystalcloseup.jpg

The swirl mickey is just a cut out from a punch. Everyone here seems to like Michaels, but I had much better success at Archiver's (http://www.archiversonline.com/) finding supplies :thumbsup2
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/mousecloseup.jpg

And finally the RSVP card and envelope
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/rsvp.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/rsvpenvelope.jpg

That's all for now folks. Have a great New Year's.

Wow, your invites are just beautiful - love the way you made them.

Just a word about the Unity Candle vs the Sand Ceremony. We had an outdoor ceremony (Epcot - Italy) and we wanted the Unity Candle. I love the Sand Ceremony but to me it almost looks like sandart that you make at a country fair. Being an outside ceremony - our candles would not say lit - we could not light our individual candles and light the center candle.

Trying to light our candles.

Looking back - I am still glad we did this but I think we should have done the Sand Ceremony. I love the first Sand Ceremony kit on this website - it is shapped like a heart and I wish we would have done this one (because we were outside ). http://kensingtonclassics.com/search/?keyword=sand+ceremony

I too love that kit. I am just unsure about the whole idea of a sand ceremony for the reasons you mentioned. Although, it would be a good way to capture the colors of the wedding more than the candles would. I think your picture looks fine, and that's why I sway toward the candles. We can just pretend they are being lit, no one will be able to see the flame lit or unlit in the pictures.

Some odds and ends since I have time...

Firstly, I feel bad because I know another bride used this exact thing, but I bought this as a possible cake topper:

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2018.jpg

I swear I looked high and low for another Donald and Daisy figure. This is seriously it.

Even though I have all this Mickey stuff in the wedding, I am a big Daisy fan and think I am going to have Donald and Daisy there rather than the MK Photoshoot. My sister says it looks like a birthday cake topper. I am going to ask the ceramics teacher if it is possible to paint over this. Then what I would do is make Daisy's bow darker to match the hot dark pink color of the invites and flowers and then make Donalds jacket grey, the bow and hat black. I dunno.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2013.jpg

I got these necklaces for my sisters. They are the same necklace as mine, except sapphire colored rather than the clear crystal. My mom said I shouldn't have the same jewelry as the bridesmaids, but whatever, I want them to look good too.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2020.jpg

And finally just another picture of the glorious shoes ;) My photographer added me as a friend on facebook and saw the picture of the shoes there and said she is really excited about them! I can't wait :yay:

Well I have decided on the dessert party menu. Thanks to these boards I asked about customizing a menu :thumbsup2

For $22/person we are going to get
-Bowl of Tiramisu
-Mini Cheesecake
-Chocolate Fudge Brownie
-Fruit Custard Tarts
-Petit Key West Lime Tarts
-Fruit Punch, Coffees and Teas

:woohoo: If I couldn't customize, I probably would've gone with the petit classics, but that was $28/person and there was a lot of stuff I didn't want in the menu, so I am really happy they were able to do this for me!

We are also going to have a hosted bar at the DP.

I also booked Beaute Speciale for hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. I was really happy with their prompt responses.

The invitations were not that hard. I used Adobe Illustrator, so if you understand Photoshop, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to play around in Illustrator.

I got the Mickey necklaces on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/myfavejewelry this is the seller I got them all from. She ships from Hong Kong, so it takes a while, but I've bought three separate times from her and there has never been a problem. If you don't see what you want, just email her, she probably has it, but just hasn't listed it. I cannot attest to the authenticity of the items (metal or crystal quality), but they look good to me.

Ebay of course! It's a figurine based on the short "Oh boy what a jitterbug!" So type 'donald, jitterbug' into ebay and you should find some. FYI, the figures that I see on ebay right now are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced ($400+), so I would wait!

On Friday, I received a Mickey fan program sample from Impressions. My plan all along was that I would make them. I would just have to buy a nice circle cutter, because cutting them imperfectly with scissors would drive me insane :rolleyes1

However, I am impressed with the sample...and I know a lot of people aren't. All of the text and the design on the front is embossed. Now there is no way I could do that unless I bought tiny little letter stamps and stamped out ALL THE WORDING on the back, which is not worth the time! So I am really just wondering how Impressions does this...I'm sure they have a nice printing press and then use the embossing powders after. So my point is that I might just pay the ridiculous prices they charge and buy from them:

FYI, the cost is
$27.50 per side flat fee for typesetting one time charge
$5.75 per fan
$1.85 per bow
plus disney licenseing sales tax and delivery

I'm gonna email now and find out about the tax and delivery.

Ebay of course! It's a figurine based on the short "Oh boy what a jitterbug!" So type 'donald, jitterbug' into ebay and you should find some. FYI, the figures that I see on ebay right now are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced ($400+), so I would wait!

Thank you so much! :thumbsup2

Just a small little update about the fans. Bad news. I am told that they do not do embossing on small orders. So what I would be ordering is essentially something I could do myself.

Typset: $55.00
Fans: $80.50
Bows: $25.90
Disney assessed licensing: $32.23
Sales Tax: $11.30
Delivery: Do you want us to ship it to you or deliver it to Disney? (delivery is a minimum of $27.50 if we have other things to deliver)
* So for the 14 fans with bows made in house it will be approximately $205 plus shipping/delivery.

Ok, so add a little bit for shipping and delivery, I am assuming this will end up at about $16-17 each. *sigh* That is pretty outrageous. I am debating whether to just throw money at the problem or do it myself. As far as supplies goes, I can wait till I get a coupon and get a circle cutter for around $15 probably. I am assuming the sticks will cost less than $10, and then I need cardstock, but the cost is negligible. I have dry scrapbooking adhesive...that should hold everything together, right? So really it would save a ton of money to just do it myself, I just don't know come May (finals, prom, AP exams, other end of the year stuff) if I will have the energy to make them. We shall see. I'm kind of disappointed because I thought these were worth the cost if there is embossing since that would be very hard/impossible to do yourself. Now that I know I am paying $17 for something printed on a computer...:sad2:

The only advantage really is that I wouldn't have to worry about transporting them and getting them to my WC if I just buy them. Is it worth it?

Just wanted to give a little $$$ info for everyone.

Got my wedding band! I'm sure it's a no-no to wear it before it's official, but here it is

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/ring2.jpg

DBF got a tungsten band for $50. It's well...I think its going back. For one it's too big. Secondly, it is ridiculously heavy. He says it doesn't bother him, but to me it is just insane. I think it might be better to just put out the money for a gold one.

Any other meals, we have to book ourselves (now if only we could make our ADR's!!!!) Aargh!!!!

what do you mean, "april brides?"

Well, just came to update some useful information other brides might find helpful.

As I've mentioned before, the plan was for everyone to just walk to the International Gateway and be escorted to Morocco from there. For some reason, the forced transportation was never pushed on me. :confused3

Anyway, I've been worrying about everyone having to walk after dinner to Epcot. So I inquired about transportation. I decided on 3 towncars, which are $25 each one way. They will drop us backstage. Sure beats the $435 charter bus.

Now once the DP ends...people are on their own walking :rolleyes1

Well, it's a been a while but much has happened since I last posted. The floral is finalized, DFTW charged my credit card. I paid the total credit card balance. Same with hotel. So aside from the dinner, everything is paid for. I am just anxiously awaiting the rewards point to be calculated so I can transfer them to the card. I have a feeling I'm gonna be able to pay for all our food and snacks during the trip with the rewards points :woohoo:

I'll start with the welcome bags. The night before the wedding, our group is going to get pizza and I will hand them out then. I'll make a confession before I go into more trip details: I don't like Disney food :confused3 So don't expect a lot of juicy ADR info or food porn. We only have 4 ADR's while we are there and its mostly for atmosphere. When DF and I went to Disney last summer we ate at a lot of the popular places, and the food there just does not impress us.

Back to the welcome bags!

*note: I am currently involved in an art project non-wedding related, so thats why the backgrounds have garbage bags with black paint.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0717.jpg
I found these for only $3 at Walmart. I also have blue and green versions. The official Disney ones seem really bulky and a hassle to carry around...not to mention the almost $20 price tag! So I thought these would be a great treat for people when they are dealing with the heat.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0716.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0714.jpg

Yes, I know. So cliche. But I could not resist. When I saw the tin's in FigmentFans TR, I knew I could not resist. They are too cute. Then I got a coupon code for the M&Ms. They are in our colors. Since only our immediate family is going, I think everyone will save the tins for sentiment. If not, who cares. The biggest hassle will be transporting them. I'll have to carry all these in my carry-on and hope they don't melt while bell services holds the bags while we wait to check in.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0718.jpg
I got purple and pink glow necklaces for everyone. I hope they can wear them during Illuminations or when we are all at Spectromagic later in the week. They were $1 each at the Dollar Store. I got some extras in case they break during the plane ride. I realized afterwords that I'll have to put them in a checked bag since they have liquid on the inside.

I really wanted to get Mickey hats for everyone. But at the end of the day, I knew no one would wear them and it just wasn't worth it. I did order the Bride headband and top hat to be delivered to our room the night of the wedding though. Can't wait to wear that! :bride:

Ok, so now that the gift bags are out of the way, let's talk about clothes!

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0719.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0720.jpg

I got these shirts from a seller on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5909254). I was expecting them to look a little more homemade, but they are absolutely fantastic. They are so great, I ordered another one that says "Just married" which is on it's way. The bridesmaid's ones look a little dark in the picture, but the font is purple and so is the tank. My shirt is iridescent fuchsia font with a pink tank. The tanks were only $5 at Meijer. Woo! My sisters and I are going to wear the Bride/bridesmaid ones the night before, and I'm gonna wear the "Just Married" on the Saturday after the wedding. :cutie:

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0724.jpg

Here is the bridesmaid dress. Obviously it looks better on a person. It's iridescent violet. I found a tie that is an exact match which the best man will wear. DH is going to wear a suit with a black tie. We found the suit a couple weeks ago at Macy's and have to go next week to pick it up from alterations.

Still no pics of my dress. It was way too big. Way too big. Which I guess is better than too small. You'll all have to wait for the real shots to see what it looks like. During the fittings though, I realized that the top of my dress is detailed with a lot of crystals. The mickey necklace doesn't work. In fact, I think any necklace would be too much. So if I can't wear a necklace, I needed earrings.

I had my ears pierced in 7th grade. They closed. I had them double pierced sophomore year of college. They closed. So a little over a month ago, I went to have them pierced again. I've been cleaning them diligently and I hope this time the piercing will stick. Once I decided I needed earrings, I hit up "I do, I do (http://ido-ido.cathysexpress.com/)" a bridal boutique in Chicago. The store is literally piled with stuff from the floor to the ceiling, wall to wall. Literally. You cannot browse here. But the owner knows her inventory and you definitely need to go in with a mission. Well I went in wanting to look at the Kirsten Kelly Disney jewelry. I love Belle but didn't like the Belle stuff. I was considering Cinderella earrings, but as luck would have it some jewelry designer was having a trunk show that day and that's when I spotted my earrings:

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0726.jpg

Finally, I made a welcome letter to put with all the welcome stuff.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0721.jpg
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0722.jpg
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_0723.jpg

It may be hard to read, but you'll get the gist. I will save the details of our touring plans for another post.

A couple of other changed details. I changed my mind and am going with Patricia LeJeune. Deposit is sent. What can I say, I am fickle. I have also been using Crest Whitestrips. They work. I've also been tanning. I had to chaperone the prom a couple weeks ago, and seeing myself in pictures, I looked like a blob of dough. My paleness doesn't work. Some people can pull it off, I can't. So tanning it is. I'm doing real tanning, not the spray tan, so I will not be orange. I burn before I tan though, so I need a month to get it all ready. Finally, I have been on a horrible horrible diet. I miss food much but I've come too far. I am at my high school weight. I just need to maintain it until June 11 and then it's nonstop eating :woohoo:

Less than a month to go :scared1:

I got these necklaces for my sisters. They are the same necklace as mine, except sapphire colored rather than the clear crystal. My mom said I shouldn't have the same jewelry as the bridesmaids, but whatever, I want them to look good too.

And finally just another picture of the glorious shoes ;) My photographer added me as a friend on facebook and saw the picture of the shoes there and said she is really excited about them! I can't wait :yay:[/QUOTE]

I just started reading your PJ and I love it... can I ask where the shoes and necklaces are from? I love them both... the shoes are so whimsical which is perfect for a Disney wedding. They look reasonably comfy too. As someone who wears a size 9/10 in shoes I think they look adorable on your feet! And the necklaces are a great way to incorporate Mickey in a very classy way. I might get those for my bridesmaids depending on the dresses they end up with! Do you know if there are matching bracelets too? TIA! :goodvibes

The shoes are Marc by Marc Jacobs and several seasons old, but I am sure you can find them online. Zappos has them on sale (http://www.zappos.com/product/7362911/color/121726)! I got the necklaces on ebay from a seller in China (http://myworld.ebay.com/myfavejewelry/). The shipping is slow but she was very reliable for me. I'm actually not going to wear the necklace I got because I think it will end up being a little much with my dress, so I decided to just wear the earrings. My sisters are still going to wear the blue Mickey necklaces though. The seller has matching bracelets in her store :thumbsup2

Vendor Reviews

1. Amy Riendeau. A++++ I hate the ebay A++++ arbitrary ratings, but Amy truly deserves it. I was never once frustrated with Amy. She answered all my questions promptly, and politely. Maybe Chicago is a particularly rude city, but the Disney attitude stands out so much to me. It is so refreshing when people are nice to you and don't act like doing their job is a massive burden. Amy is the perfect example of a model Disney employee. Planning a wedding is so stressful and expensive and Amy made things so easy for me. Even on the day of the wedding she was cool as a cucumber, and had everything under control. As my family was literally walking out of the Boardwalk, my dad was ripping tags off his suit. My mom asked for scissors and Amy had them in seconds. I truly loved working with Amy and would recommend future escape brides to insist working with her.

2. Rosie Carabbia. A+ Rosie is another great example of someone who was born to work for Disney. She had such a positive attitude every time I dealt with her. I am sure that I was annoying at times, changing things at the last minute and so on, but Rosie was always pleasant and helpful. She had wonderful suggestions and seemed to genuinely care. All the floral turned out great.

3. Impressions. A. I tried to made the Mickey fans myself. I really did. It's impossible if anyone out there is planning to do it. You can cut them with scissors but they won't be perfect circles and I am too OCD to have that. I bought several kinds of circle cutters and found them impossible to line up. The ones that I was kind of able to line up were not strong enough to cut through cardstock. A week or two before the wedding I caved and went with Impressions for the fans. Shelley and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I requested a Donald/Daisy image I found online and it looked great. They accommodated my specific color requests and were just all around great. The only reason I do not give a + is because it's so overpriced.

4. Bluezoo. A+ Bluezoo was great. I know the Swan/Dolphin is like the red headed stepchild of Disney in these parts but I really like the place. We stayed there last June and honestly prefer it to the Beach Club VIllas which we stayed in during the wedding/honeymoon. I chose Bluezoo because it had a private room and was on the Boardwalk. I really recommend it for escape brides. The restaurant and private rooms and beautiful, the food is great, and the staff is superb. I worked with Liz Torres and she was wonderful.

5. Studio 222. Love them. I'll wait until I get the pictures to give a grade, but I am confident I will be pleased. I have yet to see bad pictures on their blog. They were so great to work with. I am pretty shy and awkward, but Becka and Nate were so friendly and nice, I had no problem roaming the Boardwalk for 2 hours taking pictures. The 2 hours literally flew by. Michael and I kept saying how fast it seemed to move. Michael especially loved Nate as they seemed to have similar interests. I really recommend people check out their website http://thestudioishere.com/. We were their first Disney wedding and I hope other people consider them. Their prices are very reasonable if you want a modern style.

6. Carolyn Allen's. A+ Easy, and efficient. The morning of the wedding 2 people from CA were exactly on time and quietly pressed 3 dresses. They turned out great. The day after the wedding I dropped my dress off at Bell Services where it was picked up and is currently being cleaned. Now I realize this review could change if I get my dress back in a few weeks and its ruined, but I seriously doubt that will happen. The whole process is like clockwork and it made things so much easier. Michael's parents drove the dresses down and it was nice to know it didn't matter how wrinkled they got on the journey.

7. Patricia LeJeune A+. I absolutely loved Patricia. She came with someone else and I feel like a jerk because I have no idea what her name was. They were both great though. I had hair/makeup done for myself and my two bridesmaids. It all looked fantastic. Patricia was so friendly and calming, I would recommend her in a heartbeat. She mentioned the fact that she has been trying to get on the Disney vendor list but apparently it's a long and arduous process. I seriously hope Disney puts her on because it seems like so many people use her, they might as well.

8. Ron Rosenzweig. A. Ron was on time. He knew the script. He got our names right. He only cost $150. And he was the only person on Disney's list who had no religious affiliations in any way. I think officiant reviews are pointless because it's so dependent on what you want. We wanted someone completely non religious who would wear a suit, go through the legalities, and leave. Ron did that, so I recommend him for someone looking for that.

Glad I did

1. Had Daisy and Donald. It's a lot of money. We gave up the MK photoshoot to do it. I'm glad I did. Everyone was surprised, including Michael. My mom cried. I'm of the belief that if you are doing a Disney wedding, you should go all out and make it as Disney as possible. Again, it's personal preference. For some people it's tacky and childish. To me it was fun and made the ceremony (which, let's face it, is usually the most boring part of a wedding) a worthwhile part of the day. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

2. Had a dessert party. I cannot describe how magical this was. Trust me, I do not usually use the word magical. This was. Firstly, Epcot was kind of crowded. There was a buzz as people were staking out their spots for Illuminations. The event guide who walked us from the backstage is one of the nicest people I've ever encountered. As we entered the park everyone starting clapping and yelling 'congratulations.' It was like a movie, I cannot adequately describe it. It was honestly one of the greatest moments of my life.

My party was in Morocco. I again bring up the red headed stepchild comment in regards to Morocco. On this board its discussed as if it's behind a cement pillar in the middle of the parking lot. It's a great location. The wall is not high, you can see the show and globe perfectly, you can hear everything, its great. So if you are an escape bride "stuck" with Morocco, chill out. I hope my DP pictures come out ok because I want to reassure people out there that it's great. Everyone in my group said it was the best location and so cool, etc, etc.

Wish I didn't

1. Have so much food. Don't plan a wedding when you are a on a wedding diet. My eyes were bigger than my stomach. There was too much food. It was a huge waste of money. We had the ceremony cake and champagne. For dinner, we had 4 courses, not including the bread. We had a BOC bar at the dessert party. We had dessert at the dessert party. Way too much. If I could do it over, I would have had an appetizer and entree for dinner, and no dessert party bar. It was too hot to drink anyway.

2. Have a wedding in the middle of the afternoon in June. I'm a teacher. Our sisters were/are in college. Summer is really the only time this wedding was possible. If I had to do it again though, or advise someone, I would have found a way to have it some other time. For 2 weeks I compulsively checked 5 different weather websites. The morning of the wedding, even though the ceremony wasn't until 2:30pm, I was up at 5am and running down to the Beach Club lobby checking weather reports. Statistically, it should have rained. It didn't. I was just really lucky. If I HAD to have it in the summer, a morning ceremony probably would have been better. I just hate the idea of so much dead time between wedding events and breakfast foods are not for me. Again, it all turned out great, but it was pure luck.

Teasers

I'm not doing my TR until the Studio 222 pics and Disney photography DP pics come in. It will probably be several weeks, but I hope you stick around. Here are some teaser pics. Some are the professional teasers, some are just amateur shots guests took.

Well, like most disbrides, I am currently planning a post-wedding trip in an effort to bleed the annual pass dry :cutie: Like the wedding, I am confined to booking during horrible/crowded times of the year due to my job as a teacher. After the last mid-term on December 18 I am booking it out of here until December 27 :cool1: I put a deposit down for the Dolphin for $155/night. Obviously if something better comes along I'm gonna take it, but Pop Century is currently $135-145/night for that time, so we figured to just spend the extra $20 a night for the better location/amenities. Here's hoping a buy 4 get 3 free deal comes along, or I get a pin code :surfweb: But for Christmas time, I seriously doubt it.

Hooray! You started your trippie! Sorta! :hyper: I totally understand why you want to wait until the pro photos come back, but I loved looking at the teasers!

Thank you so much :goodvibes The dress is from the Jasmine collection, style number F979. It was $850ish, I believe. The sample I tried on was green. Here are some catalog pics, and for some reason they shot it in gold. I really needed to try hard to envision what it would look like in ivory.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/d_209210.jpg

And here is a shot that shows a little more of the detail up top. I originally had a Mickey necklace similar to the one the bridesmaids wore, but decided against it because I thought there was already so much going on up top I didn't want to overdo it.

And since I just finished editing all the photopass pics, I will leave you with my favorite (obviously small sized because I've haven't gotten the disc yet). I'll talk more about photopass in the TR but I will say that you basically need to totally guide the photographer to get any fun/decent shots. I don't know if I would ever pay for it again.

Oh that's too bad. Maybe if you call some places they might have it. It's really nothing special though. A-line strapless dress with a sweetheart top...you will easily be able to find something similar.

7:30 wedding? There are the Disney inconsistencies again. If I knew nighttime was an option I would have done it. I thought 5pm was the latest you could do SBP.

Congratulations!!! You looked beautiful. Can't wait to see the rest of your pics because the teasers are amazing!!!:goodvibes

Thanks :goodvibes I really loved Morocco. I would recommend though that you enter through the backstage. Again, this is something there are inconsistencies with. I've read that other people have been told walking through International Gateway was not an option. Well, it was for us. In fact that is what we were going to do. Then about a month before I decided I should probably arrange transport there in case it's raining. Towncars there were I believe $25 each and they seat 4. It's worth it to enter through the backstage...I think it makes it more "magical".

Yea again the officiant is such a personal thing. Some people are religious and want a minister or whatever. I know a lot of the ministers do non-religious ceremony's, but we wanted someone totally "neutral"...so again, if that's what you want, Ron is perfect.

Thank you for your reviews; you looked so beautiful! Your make-up was perfect, it really brought out your natural beauty. You have fantastic eyes.

We are considering Studio222 and Ron so I am glad to see you enjoyed working with them!

:goodvibes Thanks! I'm glad you are considering Studio 222. They are an affordable option for people who want a modern style. Their 4 hour package was $1200 for us. We also added an a la cart hour that was $380, I believe, bringing the grand total to 5 hours. If you are an escape bride, 4 hours is plenty. I just wanted them to photograph the spread at Bluezoo which is why we had to add the extra hour.

I LOVE your reviews!!!!!

How is the Bluezoo? Like price-wise and taste? I have been thinking about it as well, but I do not eat fish, and it looks like a lot of seafood!

Your pics look stunning!! I cannot wait to read more :banana:

Thanks :goodvibes I loved Bluezoo. It's specialty is seafood, but they have other stuff as well. For our main entrees the choices were tuna, salmon, beef, and chicken. One of my sisters had the beef and she said it was amazing. My mom got the chicken...I'll have to ask her how it was, but she didn't complain!

Like I've said before the private room has a $1200 minimum. Our grand total was about $1900 :scared1: I was stupid though. I see that before I said we had 4 courses. Well I forgot about one. We actually had 5!!! I'll talk about them in the the TR later. But suffice it to say that it was way too much food. It was $102/person. If I could do it over, I would have asked for just 2 courses. The cheapest option on their private dining menu is $55/person, so you can easily make it cheaper.

Now we had 12 people, so the food was around $1200...but that doesn't take into account tax, the automatic gratuity, and of course the killer...drinks. I think each mixed drink was like $11-12 each and most people got 2 each. I'm fine with that, but it made the dessert party bar a waste of money. Again, I'll go into more details later.

OMG the teasers are amazing! I can't wait to see all of your pictures!

:goodvibes Thanks! Neither can I!

LOVE your pics! I am definitely looking forward to seeing/reading more! Did you pay for the Disney photographers at the DP or did they substitute that since you used outside photography? And Blue Zoo is one of the restaurants that we're seriously considering, it seems like it was a good experience! :)

:goodvibes Thanks! I paid for the DP photographer. They did not substitute. The substitute I got was a honeymoon shoot inside Epcot. I believe I've read though that they no longer do any substitutions. :sad2: This is the one thing I HATE about DFTW. Our Disney Photographer was a very nice, cool guy. The pictures might be fantastic...the thing is that I have no idea. Yes I am aware you can now look at portfolios and request people, but there is still no guarantee you'll get them. I would definitely never do an in-park wedding and give up the ability to choose my own outside photographer.

The DP photography was $350, and then we paid another $395 for the high-res disc. The disc will include our DP and honeymoon shoot photos. Overpriced, but what can I do?

Awesome pics! Looking forward to reading more!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I actually paid around $745 for the DP photos because the actual photography is $350 and the high-res disc is $395. I don't know what prints you get because I got the disc instead.

I feel like I needed the disc because I am going to make a blurb book.

The pictures are not good and nowhere near worth what I paid for. But honestly, you don't really have a choice. It's either Disney photography or nothing :sad2:

I will go into more detail when I start my TR, but I am not going to do so until I get the Studio 222 pics.

I can't wait to hear what you have to say about Studio 222! I love what I see from your teasers, and I'm starting to look into photographers now! Thanks for sharing your opinion!!

I'm still waiting on the pictures :surfweb: Hopefully this patience is all worth it! I'm sure it will be though. I kind of already semi-reviewed them and I am so pleased I chose Studio 222. Becka and Nate were extremely nice and friendly. I would contact them immediately though if you are interested...let me explain why.

And brace yourself because I'm about to make a short story long :cutie:

I'll be honest here about photography for the sake of helping others in the future. I wavered a long time on photography. Originally I was just so happy DH & family agreed to a Disney wedding and I assumed that it was basically going to be a bare bones $4500 budget...I'd wear my prom dress, we'd eat at Ohaha's afterwords in regular clothes, and I'd have Disney photography. Well as time went on, I learned we had more money than I thought...

So I started obsessively researching extras. As soon as I got on the disboards, everyone seemed to have outside photographers, and everyone seemed to go with Randy. So I looked into him and that's what I thought I would go with because he was was only $600 some dollars.

Then as the researching :surfweb: went on I discovered the Roots from people's journals. I really like their style a lot more. So I emailed them and they quoted $2500 for 4 hours. I thought, eh, that's way to expensive and let it go. Well as time went on (about 4-5 months) I became more obsessive and thought I would always regret it if I did not have the photos in a style I wanted, and maybe I should just cough up the $2500; so I emailed them again. Their prices went up and it was now $4000 for 4 hours :scared1: Because I had a summer/weekend wedding, they couldn't adjust the price, which is understandable. But they were nice enough to recommend up and coming photographers, Studio 222.

Studio 222 charged me $1200 for 4 hours :thumbsup2. So I guess the lesson is to research and book your photographer as soon as possible. One reason is you want to make sure you secure the date. The second reason is you want to secure the price before they explode in popularity and raise them :thumbsup2

Well I am bored and really want to start my TR but can't, so I will talk a little bit about the Disney DP pictures since I have been bringing it up in other threads.

I guess I am being harsh on the photographer because some of the DP shots are very technically well done. Nicely composed, great colors, etc. I am mostly just disappointed in the lack of good fireworks shots and the lack of candid shots of me and DH during the actual party.

I'll say it again. SIX shots of my sister (and I have TWO of them. Only one got attention). None of me. :sad2:

I guess I'll add some pictures to justify the smack I am talking...

Forest Fire in EPCOT. RUN!

Michael is Erupting. Keep running!
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-067.jpg

Stuff like this goes on and on. There is basically one good fireworks pictures. Many of the pictures are bad because me and Michael look bad. I guess you could blame us because we were awkwardly posed. Michael wasn't smiling (he said he thought he was and he was so afraid to move because the only direction we got was "don't move"). So I blame myself a little, but honestly a little direction would have helped tremendously. Aside from, uh, FREAKING YEARBOOK PHOTOS, we have NEVER had professional pictures taken. We don't know how to pose or what looks awkward. :headache:

I'll post more when I get to the DP in the official TR. Still waiting on those ceremony pics :surfweb:

Like I said, I feel bad especially if the photographer ever reads this because he was nice and there WERE some decent shots. Look at this one of DH and his sister.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-008.jpg

Beautiful right? Perfect colors. Great stuff in the background. My beef is that there are no shots of me or my family that look like this.

All the family shots of me are facing Morocco. So everything is very orange and over exposed and washed out. I have been playing with lighting in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and printing out test copies at Walgreens. The original untouched print is ridiculous. Now I realize my edited version might not look great. It looks a little grey to me. BUT I ADMIT DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING :scared:

ORIGINAL
Me, mom, and sister 1 were not orange like that. My father is not a tomato, and sister 2 does not glow like casper.

It's still not perfect, but it's better than the original, right?
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-019-2.jpg

Some might say I am being conceited, but seriously there were only 12 people there...there should be good pictures of me and my family. I shouldn't have to fake my way through these programs I know nothing about trying to salvage what little there is :sad2:

OMG, Patrick and I are laughing our butts off over here!

I am so sorry to hear about your photos, and I totally agree with you about the variety and quality of shots. We both think you did a great job fixing that family photo, too.

I would urge you to consider telling Disney Event Photography how you feel about the photos because I have this naive hope that if enough people complain they will finally acknowledge the problems and attempt to fix them. When we complained, they acted like we were the only people on the planet ever to have had a problem with their photos and therefore must be crazy. :sad2:

Hahaha, glad I made you laugh. Glad to hear that the editing looks ok. It's hard to do because all the pictures colors look different on each of the computers we have and when you open them in Photoshop the colors change ...I dunno. The edited prints from Walgreens look decent and that's all I care about. It's all about making a good blurb book at the end of the day :rotfl:

I did write a REALLY long email to Jeff Wells..I think that was his name..., maybe Walls... Director of DFTW. I went on and on about how great my Coordinator was, how great floral was...just to soften the blow...and then I went into photography. However, the rant was mostly about the no outside photographers rule.

I think I might contact Disney Photographic Services. I am hesitant though because I hate to "get someone in trouble." I liked the photographer, he was nice and funny, and some of the pics are ok. I need to think how I can word things nicely :scratchin:

My anger is more about the no outside photography rule. Honestly, the Honeymoon pictures aren't horrible, so I don't think he is incompetent, I just really would have liked photos similar in style to the other ones I will get from Studio 222.

It would be glorious though if they finally listened to all of us and changed the rule. We should have a disbrides meet in the France pavilion and stage a little revolution. We could all carry posters of our bad pictures and chant 'liberty, equality, outside photography!" as they drag us out of the park. :hippie:

Oh man...
I have to say I also liked above mentioned photographer...not so much for his skills as a photographer....more as a stand up comedian:rotfl:. I agree that you should write DPS....after our wedding I was talking with Randy, and I brought up the whole outside photography rule, he mentioned to me he had been shooting Disney weddings for longer than most of the team at DFTW has been there, and now he (and all of the other fabulous photogs in the area) are limited to DFTW's that they can shoot.
I think they are really alienating brides that would have in-park ceremonies by telling them...."Sorry you have to use DPS."
I think you did a good job editing your photos, there is definitely an improvement over the original. The sad thing is that you shouldn't have to edit PROFESSIONAL photos, but writing will let them know, I don't think you're going to get you-know-who in trouble...if anything I would think of it as more constructive criticism...you may help out another bride in the end.:goodvibes

I am so there with you!!! I am willing to chain myself to something and organize the sit in! :rotfl:

I'm really glad you're sharing your pain with the Dessert Party photography - I now know not to have any expectations. My entire family is going to look like Casper (we're pale, but wanna bet I get to be the tomato?) and Lord knows what fireworks are going to erupt out of our heads. <sigh>

Hahaha. Viva la revolution! :goodvibes

I hope my pain helps others. When you have your DP, honestly, just be commando. Round up your family and get everyone to stand where you want the picture to be taken and tell the person to take a picture. You and Rob should practice your poses now. I know it sounds weird but I think it would have helped us. Put your camera on automatic or whatever where it takes a picture every 10 seconds and just stand and analyze your pictures so you don't make the mistakes Mike and I made.

I agree he was funny.

I do feel bad for all the outside photographers. I read virtually all their blogs and look at all their websites. Randy, Misty, the Roots...they do so many Disney weddings and I think right about now the weddings that were booked after the October cut-off date are beginning; so I think we are going to see less and less outside photographer pictures. :sad2:

The sad thing is that I bet these boards represent such a small fraction of the actual amount of Disney weddings...there are probably so many brides who aren't even aware of all this photography drama :guilty:

I still don't have official pics, but I might as well get the boring part of the TR out of the way...

My family flew down to Orlando on June 10. Michael and I did not fly down until June 11. The reason being is that the last day of teacher meetings was June 10. Little did I know that the meeting would end up being canceled; otherwise I would have left on the 10th as well.

So on the 10th Michael and I were up at 3:30AM! :headache: We drove my sister and her boyfriend to O'Hare for their 6AM flight. Then at 7AM we drove my parents and other sister and her boyfriend for their 9AM flight. Later that day I got my nails done, worked out, and basically just killed time until it was 8PM. I knocked myself out with NyQuil and fell asleep. :faint:

On June 11 I was up bright and early at 3:45AM. I did my morning routine and then put all the morning routine stuff in the checked bag. At 4AM we hopped on a taxi and headed to O'Hare.

We get to O'Hare. I already did online check-in and prepaid for the checked bags. So we check the bags and then get in the security line. There is a MASSIVE pack of kids obviously going on some school or camp type trip to Orlando (they all had Disney paraphernalia on)...so the line was long and loud.

Finally we get to the belts. We take off our shoes and put everything in the plastic bins. Michael walks through the metal detector. No problem. I walk through. No problem. Then I see them looking at my carry-on bag at the x-ray machine.

"Ma'am. We are going to have to open the bag and inspect it." Uggggh. I know what it was. All my welcome bag stuff was in the checked bag. I was worried about the fans being crushed and the MMs melting in the checked bag, so I put it in carry-on. So the people working the x-ray machine saw stacks of little metal tins and things that looked like rotating blades with batteries tape on them. I can see why it looked suspicious. Anyway, this search of my bag was accompanied by a full pat-down, which got my Disney adventure off to a very magical start. pixiedust:

We go to the terminal. and wait some more. We board the flight. We fly to Orlando. We land. It is now around 10AM Orlando time. This is important for later in the story. Now I have never used Magical Express before and I was way too paranoid about someone else handling my luggage so we did NOT do the Magical Express bag check thing. Therefore after the flight lands we head to baggage claim. I get my bag. We wait for Michael's bag.

And wait.

And wait.

The belt is now empty and there are other people standing and waiting. Grrrr. So we go to who I believe was the nastiest United employee ever.

:worried: Hi. It's been like 20 minutes and no more bags our coming out. We are missing one.
:snooty: ::audible sigh:: Go to the machine over there : points: and to see where the bag is.
:worried: Ok

So we enter our flight info and get SOME MORE PIXIE DUST!!! pixiedust: Michael's bag is on another flight and will be arriving in Orlando at 2:00PM. Fantastic.

So again we have no idea what to do. We go to the United desk, back to the same woman.

:worried: Hi. So we used the machine and it said our bags are on a different flight and won't be here unti...
:snooty:: ::audible sigh as she cuts us off:: Go to the machine over there and file a lost baggage claim.
:worried: Ok...

At this time there are other people discovering the same thing about their bags. So the mood is not happy at United baggage claim. The machine tells us we have a couple choices.

1. Wait in the airport until the flight arrives and get our bag then.
2. Have United deliver the bag to the hotel.
3. Have the bag sent back to Chicago

So Michael and I debate this. Do we really want to waste time sitting in the airport waiting for the bag. We had other things to do. At the same time we didn't know if we could trust United to deliver our bags. All of Michael's stuff, included wedding items he needed, were in the bag. So maybe we should just wait and guarantee we get our bags.

So we go back to the woman.

:worried: Hi. We want to know if there is a guarantee that our bags will be delivered today. We don't want to risk..
:snooty: :cuts us off again: YES. THEY ARE DELIVERED BY 6, UGH. ::turns to next customer::
:furious: WOW. ::whips out pen and paper, turns to Michael:: Hold on a second I need to write down her name...

Ok so we go back to the machine. Now it is asking us all this info. It wants to know the address of Beach Club. Michael asks me if I know. "Uh...no." So we hit cancel...back to the woman."

:furious: We don't know the address of the Beach Club.
:snooty: ::rolls eyes:: Just put in "Beach Club WDW" and they will know what it means!

Again, I don't understand why she had so much attitude. How on Earth were we supposed to know that?

So that is finally done. We head to Magical Express. I have never used Magical Express before. All I had with me were the tear-out vouchers from the giant book they send. Apparently you need to bring the whole booklet. Then why are the vouchers tear-out? So we have to get in another line where someone proceeds to write "B" on the voucher. Then we go back to the original line. I don't understand why "B" couldn't have been written on the ticket in the original line considering all the lines had employees with computers.

So now we wait in more lines. It takes a good 30-40 minutes to get on a bus. Then we wait some more. Our bus is not magical. There is no video. No pomp an circumstance as we enter Disney. I would never use Magical Express again. I would rather pay $30-$50 and get on a MEARS bus, other type of shuttle, or cab and not stand around and wait forever.

So FINALLY we are at the Beach Club...

I love your Studio photos. Thanks for sharing your experience with DPS for the Dessert Party. It helped me more than you know. Unfortunately, I am still going to go with them and PRAY for Firework shots. Shouldn't they know the show like the back of their hands? I don't want to have to go commando, but I will!! Now you paid for the CD, what do you get if you DON'T purchase the CD? Thanks.

Finally Magic Express is at the Beach Club.

Behold it's glory
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2180.jpg

We had never been inside the lobby. We have only admired it from afar. So I was kind of surprised how small the lobby is. I was expecting something bigger, like the Dolphin lobby, or GF/Poly. Regardless, we checked-in and the room is ready. It was 566 at the Beach Club Villas. So we headed over.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2182.jpg

We saw this painting on the walk over. Want!
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2119.jpg

We get to the room and it's ok. It was really nice having an area with a fridge and microwave. It came in very handy when we had left over wedding cake. We got the room through the buy 4 get 3 free deal, and if I paid anywhere near rack for the room I would have had severe buyers remorse. The view was...of the DVC pool and parking lot. We had a nice sized balcony though.

A little more right
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2143.jpg

Night vision! And a better view of the pool.

We got a towel animal!
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2109.jpg

I unpack everything and prepare the welcome bags. Then we head over to Epcot. On the walk over I took a picture of Boardwalk across Crescent Lake. You can almost SEE how thick the humidity was.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2113.jpg

A preview of the horrible stiff awkward poses to come
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2112.jpg

At the International Gateway we exchange our AP vouchers for the actual pass. We also buy a Tables in Wonderland card. It is around 1PM now, so we decide to mill around Epcot a bit. We take a picture in Morocco where our DP will be. At this time I realize that the wall at Morocco is not level. If you are facing future world, the wall on the right side of the water wheel is taller than the wall on the left side. Just an FYI because I *believe* you can reserve only one side of the terrace for a DP. We ended with the East and West side for $200 but I am almost positive we were offered just one side for $100 venue rental fee.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2123.jpg

We walk around some more. At the entrance to future world we stop and get our first Photopass pics. I will do a whole rant about Photopass later in the TR. We start getting hungry at this point and decide to got to Downtown Disney to eat. We eat at Earl of Sandwich. Mmmm. I got a tuna melt. Very delicious.

Advanced warning, there is almost no food porn in this TR. I am not a good TR picture taker.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2117.jpg

We also went to Goofy's Candy Company. Here is where I made a mistake. I got a Mickey crispie thing covered in milk chocolate, dipped in rainbow sprinkles, and drizzled with white chocolate. I ate the whole thing. So now I have that whole thing and a tuna melt in me and I feel horrible.

We head back to the room and relax for a little bit. Soon enough it's around 6PM. Michael's parents pick us up and we go to Port Orleans where we pick up Michael's best man. We then head outside of Disney and to Giordano's where we meet up with my family. This was our welcome dinner. It was cheap and had food everyone liked. And yes, I know how sad it is that people from Chicago went all the way to Orlando to have Chicago pizza.

There was a lot of food left over so we ended up taking practically an entire stuffed pizza back to the room with us. Thank god for the fridge. We then went on the balcony and talked for a bit, then it was off to bed. Tomorrow would be the wedding day!!!!

Thanks :goodvibes

If you signed your contract before October 2008, you could still use outside photography in the parks. If you signed your contract after October 2008 you cannot use outside photography inside the parks.

You can still use them OUTSIDE the park though. So if you are planning anything at the Wedding Pavilion, or SeaBreeze Point, or inside the resort banquet halls, you can use outside photography. If you want your ceremony inside Epcot though for example, you must use Disney Photography. If you are having a dessert party inside Epcot, you must use Disney Photography.

So I have been reading your TR and just caught up reading the PJ. Let me just say I love the jewelry and the shoes. I totally want them!!! :thumbsup2

Secondly I totally appreciate the honesty about DPS. While it makes me very sad since I'm required to have them. But at least I know what to expect. And I'm definitely willing to protest with you ladies! :lmao:

Sorry about the magical express horror. We've always checked out bags but that sounds like a nightmare!!

And P.S. I feel your pain about time constraints as a teacher. I just signed with a new district that has different vacation times, so I'll need to take a couple more days off than I planned, but oh well.

Getting ready....

Well, the clock strikes 5:30 am. Actually it blinks to 5:30 am; I digress. Carolyn Allen's is scheduled to arrive at 8, so I have a lot of time to kill. I try and fall back asleep, but it's useless. My psychosis gets the best of me, and I decide to go check the weather. I grab Michael's laptop and head down to the Beach Club lobby. I check weather.com. accuweather.com, wesh.com, weather.gov, and weatherunderground.com. The Weather Channel was actually the most pessimistic with a 40% chance during the afternoon. Accuweather was the most positive with a 10% chance.

I go back upstairs and basically just stare at the wall. Eventually Michael wakes up. We talk a little bit and go through weather scenarios with him. He stares into space and pretends to indulge my paranoia. Two ladies from Carolyn Allen's arrive and promptly begin ironing the dresses. They are fast, efficient, and out of the way. I really recommend them.

They finish around 9am. Patricia Le Jeune is scheduled to arrive at around 10:30. Mike and I talk a little more. I run through all the things he has to do: 1. don't forget the rings, 2. give Ron the check 3. Give Amy the cake topper and champagne flutes. "I know, I know," he says. Mike leaves at 10 to go have breakfast with Carl, who is staying at POFQ. After breakfast they are going to the Swan to get ready with Michael's parents and sister.

Shortly after Mike leaves my sisters and mom arrive. At 10:25 Patricia arrives with her assistant (whose name I don't remember! Anyone recognize her?) They promptly get to work. Patricia starts my sisters makeup and the assistant preps my hair. After my hair is prepped, my sisters get their hair started.

Durp de durp
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding005copy.jpg

At noon, Disney floral arrives with the bouquets. Although in hindsight, I really love the way my bouquet looks, my initial reaction was UGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture32-1.png

My #1 request was that the roses be opened. I hate the way bouquets look when the roses are all tight and closed. So like a total OCD weirdo I start opening them one by one. The other thing I wasn't crazy about was the greenery in my sisters bouquets. I wanted pink and hot pink roses with white or ivory delphiniums at the bottom. However, I did request that fewer roses be in the bouquet so the price was $75 instead of $125. Well, maybe Disney floral thought they were doing me a favor by adding the greens to fill it out. I also didn't like the green in the white flowers at the bottom. BUT, in hindsight...oh my god who cares. I was a little too psycho about it.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture11.png

Hidden Mickey
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture10.png

The hidden Mickey is another thing I want to comment on. Yea it was only $3...but if I were advising someone, I wouldn't do it. For one thing, it took forever for me to find it. LOL. And by the time I did, it was so buried in there, my only thought was "really, what was the point." Again, do what makes you happy, but hindsight being 20/20; I would have used the $3 to buy...uh...half an ice cream Mickey?

Shortly after Disney floral arrived, Becka from Studio 222 arrived.

The dress

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/IMG_2147copy.jpg

At this point Patricia had finished my sisters hair and makeup and was ready to move on to me. She asked how I wanted it and I said I wanted to look like I had makeup on, but I didn't want to look ridiculous. In other words, I am a plain Jane everyday of my life so no need to replicate that look :lmao:...but at the same time I don't want to look like a clown. For my hair I went back and forth a lot prior to the wedding. Part of me wanted to have it up because I love Patricia's updo's so much. But another part of me also imagined my hair down whenever I pictured our wedding. I decided to go with down. I had been growing it out for so long, so might as well make it worth it.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture28.png

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture31.png

I love this picture of Patricia. She was so sweet. I really, really, really recommend her. I know a lot of people complain about the poor communication they have with her, and honestly, I had it too. I even booked someone else. But a couple months before the wedding my gut just told me to go with her. Glad I did. :thumbsup2
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture33.png

My sisters were still fidgeting even though it looked perfect
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture38.png

Patricia and her assistant leave and at this point it's time to get into the dress. So Becka just stands there and is like "ok, get in"...um? So I am dying of embarrassment telling my mom and sisters DON'T LOOK! So I get it, with my pants on, while Becka is snapping pictures. None of these pictures made the cut and I'm sure there is a good reason. I didn't strip down in front of other people for gym class, and I sure wasn't going to start now! :lmao:

It would be glorious though if they finally listened to all of us and changed the rule. We should have a disbrides meet in the France pavilion and stage a little revolution. We could all carry posters of our bad pictures and chant 'liberty, equality, outside photography!" as they drag us out of the park. :hippie:

This made me :rotfl: as did the pic of your DH erupting...:rotfl2:

I don't get why they just don't start charging a fee/surcharge for brides using outside photography in the park. This way they are still making money for photography and brides can actually choose a style they want. No vow renewal for us until this is changed.

I agree with the fee. Some people say Disney does it [doesn't allow outside photogs] to "protect their image" but I don't buy it...it's about money. The image thing makes no sense. Anyone could easily go into the parks and grab a quick snapshot of them doing obscene things in Disney that do a lot more damage to Disney's reputation than an outside photographer would. I mean really; would an outside photographer do anything to damage their reputation? Again, this smilie fits :confused3

And I will talk about it more when I get to the DP in this TR...but I have learned to love my DP pictures. In making my blurb album, I think it worked out pretty good. I recant!

Oh...just wait until you see Michael's hidden Mickey in his boutonniere. Seriously people, don't waste your money. I think the hidden Mickey in Carrie's DH's boutonniere was a one in a million :rotfl: That's the only reason I did it, and ugh...just wait.

EDIT: By the way adisneygal...what up fellow Chicagoan! And also, where da TR at?! ;) Your pictures look so great, you need to do one.

yay! More updates!!

I have already booked Beaute Speciale but I think I am going to try and go with Patricia now. I was worried cause a lot of people seem to have a really natural look, which I cannot have because I wear makeup everyday, so I will look less than special I guess....but she put the perfect amount on you. I seriously think I may print out your hair and makeup pics, and ask for her to re-create it....you just absolutely gorgeous! I would be happy if she could me me look half as good :goodvibes

Some details I forgot

So when I was getting ready and telling Patricia what I wanted with my hair, I just kept emphasizing that I didn't want a tight little bun on the top of my head...I didn't want two single curls on either side of my face spiraling down...I didn't want the curls too tight...I didn't want to look like I was at prom.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture18-2.png

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture14.png

I don't want to look like I'm at prom. I don't want to look like I'm at prom. I don't want to look like I'm at prom. I don't want to look like I'm at prom. This was my mantra. She laughed and told me I must have been traumatized. :rotfl: Sadly, yes.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/Picture15-2.png

I think it turned out very unprom like! And to end here is another picture of my bouquet where you can see more detail. I wish I had a "before" picture where the roses were all tight. You can kind of see how the edges of some petals are ripped because I was opening them. By later in the day due to the unbearable heat though they did start to open more.

OMG - me too!!! In fact, when we were planning an Escape wedding I was all over these boards trying to find pictures of the Escape rose bouquet with open roses, and I even posted here asking about it. I just think closed roses look cheap - like they came from the supermarket or the gas station or something. :headache:

I completely agree with both of you! Roses should be open!!! I'm going to add that to the list of things to talk to the florist about! :thumbsup2

That installment of the TR was awesome!!You looked gorgeous! Now I can reference my makeup by what she did for you - "Give me the Katie!" Seriously - beautiful!! :cutie:

And let me say I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is going to kick people out when I get into that dress!! I don't care if I have to have a bunch of people standing in the hallway, but I'll get it on and then they can all come back in!! :rotfl:

I swear I posted earlier but can't find it. :confused3

Hahahaha. Amen. I don't think I've ever seen closed rose bouquets...or valentine's arrangements...or funeral splays...or anything really outside of Disney :confused3

I'm confused by this too. I am also confused by the great floral that we had compared to the not so great floral by Disney. :confused3

Protecting their image is a crock! Like you said, their image can get damaged by tourist with cameras so why not ban all cameras. It is just a way for Disney to corner brides into using DPS. No Disney vow renewal for dh & I until this changes!

EDIT: By the way adisneygal...what up fellow Chicagoan! And also, where da TR at?! ;) Your pictures look so great, you need to do one.

Meanwhile, at the Swan...

I forgot to mention that sometime between Carolyn Allen's leaving and Patricia arriving, Amy (my planner) had called me to run some things over. It was more or less like I was a Charlie Brown kid listening to an adult (wah wah wah wah wah)...It was going in one ear and out and out the other. I just heard snippets in the wave of words.

wah wah wah ...make sure Michael doesn't forget the rings....wah wah wah...Ron will go over everything with you at Boardwalk... wah wah wah... etc etc

I did have one moment of clarity where I asked the dreaded question. "If things have to be moved inside, when will I be informed?" She then proceeded to tell me that there is only a 20% chance of rain and everything was looking good. Woohoo.

Ok, back to the story. So after I kicked Michael out of our BVC room, his dad picked him up and they went to POFQ to pick up Carl, Michael's best man. The two of them then attempted to go have breakfast at Spoodles, only to find out it was already closed for breakfast. So they then decided to get an early lunch at the Boardwalk Bakery. After they ate, they went back to the Swan to get ready in the room Michael's parents and sister had.

He didn't forget the rings!

Awww, all ready!
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-022.jpg

So at 1:30, the limo picks up Michael, Carl, his parents, and sister and takes them to the Boardwalk. Michael gives the check to Ron, Ron runs over things with him, and then there is apparently a lot of sitting around and waiting. Amy then pinned the boutonnieres on Mike and Carl. This was one of those things that I forgot about I guess...I should have told Michael to make sure his mother did it, but oh well. Here is some more sagely wisdom ;-) ...you will not be able to plan and foresee everything, so just brace yourself in advance.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-098.jpg

While they were sitting around, Mike and Carl took a lot of pictures together.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-112.jpg

My absolute favorite out of every single picture
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-023-1.jpg

Eventually it's time for the limo to get me and my family, so Michael and his family start walking from the Boardwalk to Sea Breeze Point. Along the way, they pick up my sisters boyfriends. My parents, sisters, and their boyfriends all stayed together off property in a big villa. So that morning my dad dropped my mom and sisters off at BVC to get ready with me. Then he dropped off my sister's boyfriends at Boardwalk and then went back to BVC to leave with us. Well one of the things I also reminded Michael of was to make sure that he found my sisters boyfriends before they left Boardwalk. Well, he forgot. I guess it's a good thing because they wandered to ESPN Zone anyway.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-132.jpg

Back at the Beach Club Villas....

After Patricia leaves, I take some pictures on our balcony by myself, and with my mom and sisters.

I won't bore you will all of them

My dad shows up and it's 2:00pm...time to leave.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-116.jpg

ALERT ALERT !!!!!!! BEST STORY OF THE ENTIRE WEDDING !!!!!!! ALERT ALERT

So we are on the 5th floor of BVC. I get on the elevator to head down with my parents, sisters, and Becka. The elevator stops at the 3rd floor. When it opens there are two parents with their little girl. The parents laugh and say "oh we'll get the next one" ::smile smile::... before the door closes the little girl puts her hand over her mouth and gasps. "You're a princess!" ...the door closes.

There is not a smilie face big enough for that moment. Only at Disney....

So we are at the Beach Club entrance and I am excited about the limo. It has a little ledger with our names on it, and I am starting to get really excited.

Getting out of the limo after the excruciating 2 minute drive...hehe
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/additionaledits-004.jpg

When we get into the Boardwalk, I meet Ron. He talks a mile a minute and tells me what's going to happen. I forget everything immediately as he says it. He finishes by saying, "don't worry about remembering anything. I'll guide it as we go through it." Phew! A sigh of relief! Now while Ron is talking, my dad keeps wandering away from us. When Ron finishes Amy tells us we can start walking to Sea Breeze Point. My dad is still wandering. Well when we get to an elevator to go to the ground level, I find out why. He still has tags sewn into his suit.

-_-

So my mom starts picking at them and I am trying not to let it bother me...because the nail clippers in our room would've been perfect if he told us about it immediately rather than trying to fix it himself! Well wonderful Amy helps alleviate the problem by running to the Boardwalk desk and getting some scissors. My mom gets the two tags out. It seems fixed...but ....well...you'll see.

Lesson: remove those suit tags before! It's hard to describe. I'm not talking about the paper tags with little plastic attachers. These were cloth tags literally sewn on. Oy vey.

We start walking to Sea Breeze Point

An interlude...accessories, rings, and things

Well I said a couple posts ago that I was going to post about the accessories, and I forgot. So here it is..

First the obligatory makeup picture. I love the colors. Actually when my makeup was finished my immediate reaction was that it was too little. I thought the lipstick I had on was too subtle and I asked Patricia to make it pinker. Well, she told me to wait until Becka took a picture so I could see how it photographed, and if I didn't like it, she would make it pinker. Well, after I saw how it photographed, I decided to keep it. Lesson: trust the professionals. They know what they are doing.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-002-1.jpg

Here are my earrings that I bought a month before the wedding. Originally I was going to wear a Mickey necklace but decided it would be too much with all the detail at the top of my dress, so I went with big blingy earrings instead. Becka photographed a lot of the jewelry on the itinerary that I made for the week. It didn't have a lot to do with the wedding, but she was obsessed with it!
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-013-1.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-019.jpg

I wore this ring on my right hand. Why? Well, it had a pink and purple (wedding colors) flower and looked cool. Hahaha, no sentimental story, sorry.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-093-1.jpg

My sisters wore the hidden Mickey necklaces which I have posted about extensively already in the PJ portion of this thread.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-105-1.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-029COPY.jpg

My beauteous shoes. Make fun of me all you want, but all the girls were in flip flops by the end of the night, so I do not regret wearing my flat weirdo mouse shoes at all.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-045-1.jpg

Now the last accessory to cover is the rings. And let me tell you, if we ever lose the rings we have plenty of pictures to give to a jeweler to have them replicated. Studio 222 took a BILLION pictures of them. It is handy though because it helps you fill in empty spaces for Blurb books. I'll go into more details later once I get my blurb book. But let me tell you, I have been OBSESSED with making it the last couple days.

Ok, the rings....

Love this shot
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-004.jpg

My engagement ring. Again, the itinerary makes an appearance
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-024-1.jpg

Now I have no idea where this was taken but I like it
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-007.jpg

Now everyone received the itinerary the night before the wedding and I threw in this picture of Donald and Daisy from the Jitterbug cartoon...FORESHADOWING if you will ;-)

I'm trying to pound out this report because school is starting soon and I know if I don't finish before it starts, it will never get done.

Studio 222 took a lot of pictures for some reason of SBP before everything was set up. Well like I said earlier it took Mike and company about 5 minutes to "get ready" so there was a lot of standing around for them. According to Mike Disney didn't put out any petals until like right before everything started. Another thing they didn't put out until the last minute was the food. Well...Mike didn't realize that at first.

I want to preface this by restating that Mike was not really involved in the planning of this wedding. Now I am not a crazy bridezilla or a psycho princess-wannabe. At the beginning I was very open about everything and Mike truly didn't care about a single detail. He is a not a planner. He is a "tell me when to be there" kind of guy. The colors of the wedding fell into place around the bridesmaid dresses. I found a dress style that I thought would fit both my sisters well. One is 5'7" and one is 5' even....so all I cared about was fitting two different body types into a dress that worked for both. Once I found the cut, they gave me the color options for that dress and the iridescent taffeta looked best, so I picked it. When it came to picking all the pink...well, I thought it complimented the bridesmaids dresses.

Originally I was going to have MIke wear a purple tie like Carl. I asked if he minded; he didn't. I found ONE purple tie that matched perfectly at a tourist stand at Navy Pier here in Chicago. Well, after much searching and phone calls, I could not find another, so I decided to just have Mike wear a black tie...and frankly I think it worked out better in the end. My main point is that Mike didn't care about wearing a purple tie.

Well then I asked if he cared about wearing a pink rose. He could wear white if he wanted. Again, he said he didn't care.

I may have already told this story. But several months before the wedding, Rosie had sent me swatches of different chair sash colors. So I asked Mike if he wanted to be involved and help me pick. "Sure," he said. So I showed him the colors, which were fuchsia, hot pink, and magenta. "Which one do you think would look best?" And then I talked for about 5 minutes about the pros and cons of each. Once I finished, Mike just stared blankly and blinked. "yea, I don't really care what you do for any of this." Hahaha, ok then.

So basically, long story short, Mike had pretty much no clue of what was happening that day. All he knew is how much it cost. As far as the details, he knew nothing. SOOOOOO

When they were standing around Sea Breeze Point, Mike looked over at the cake table.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-147-1.jpg

His first thought, he told me later, was "oh man is she gonna pissed about that cake."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. :lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao:

Oh dear god. He thought the cake stand you see there was the actual cake! Hahahaha, he later reported relief when they brought out the actual cake.

The ceremony: Part 1 | Lots of people walking
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-146.jpg

Sidenote: I hate you photobucket. I just spent forever doing this and many of the pictures look jagged and weird after the resize but frankly at this point I do not care.

So as you can see, it was a nice day. It was REALLY sunny though. Keep in mind, this was a 2:30pm wedding in June. A lot of the pictures look like it's supernoving in the background.

The sand ceremony setup
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-154-1.jpg

Generally, I am pleased. If I had to do it over though, I probably would have done it differently. I wanted the gel cylinders with light up cubes because everything was being moved to bluezoo for dinner. So I thought they would look cool in the restaurant. Well, the sun didn't set until after 8:30 that night, so the glow cubes were kind of pointless in bluezoo. I probably would have just a flower splay or something if I did it again. It looked cute though.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-139.jpg

Flowers in glass bowl on columns with chiffon overlay
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-141.jpg

Now this is a decoration I got based on the possibility of rain. It would have been cheaper to just get flowers that hang. However, Rosie told me if it rained and everything was moved inside, that the flowers might just be laid on the floor since there is no place to hang them in the ballroom. Well, that's irritating, so I decided to just have the columns. But that led to another problem. The columns are gross. Different strokes for different folks, I know, but doric columns in the middle of a wooden New Englandish gazebo. Uh...no. Rosie told me that the chiffon was not a good idea because the flower bowl wouldn't be heavy enough and the chiffon is slippery and it would all blow away. I said I'd take my chances. You could still kind of see the column through it, but it was well enough hidden.

The fan with Donald and Daisy...again more foreshadowing ;-)
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-142.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-206.jpg

My favorite part...the flowers in the aisle. This was the first thing I noticed walking down the aisle. It was way better than I expected.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-046.jpg

Everyone stands around and waits
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-156.jpg

Finally, this show gets on the road. I'm at the entrance with my sisters. "Colors of the Wind" starts playing and Amy tells my sister to start walking.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-039.jpg

"Ok, Mary, go," Amy says.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-040.jpg

I'm saying something I don't remember to my dad, making fun of my sisters probably. Well at that moment my dad RIPS ANOTHER FREAKING TAG OFF HIS SUIT. And then literally as soon as he finished ripping, Amy says, "Ok, go..." as the bridal chorus begins.

So looking at the pictures I see that my dads eyes are closed for literally almost all of them. I think he was having a zen moment. Harnessing his chi if you will after the suit tag drama.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-041-2.jpg

Michael had explicit instructions from Ron to not turn until he was told.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-176-3.jpg

He turns
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-178-3.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-177-3.jpg

First look. Great expression. Ron later tells everyone that Mike said "wow" when he saw me :-)
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-179-3.jpg

This picture did not make the album ;-) Mike keeps his line of vision classy
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-181.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-183.jpg

So Ron tells us that Mike said "wow" and that this was going to be a good wedding, and then the whole being given away thing starts.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-182.jpg

Ron asks who gives this woman and my dad says "I do." and then promptly realizes his error and hastily adds "oh, and her mother."
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-043-2.jpg

A kiss
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-186.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-192.jpg

My dad passes Michael off to me
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-044.jpg

After that Mike and I just look at each other like "oh my god. this is it. it's really happening."
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-189.jpg

Just the two of us now

I think you're prolly right in the middle of posting another installment, but I thought I'd share a Photobucket tip that I got from FigmentFan814 after years of frustration with re-sizing:

You can set Photobucket to upload your pix at the size you want before you upload them. You may know this already - maybe it's not the problem. But my wedding pix were HUGE, and I was resizing each by hand. The option is below the panel where you select the pictures (or, for the bulk uploader, it's underneath the window where they appear as you select them, before you hit Upload).

Sorry if you already know this.... :cutie:

Wow - your photos are just wonderful. Love the way SBP looks and love the color combo. Can't wait to hear about your blurb book. I have been working on a Shutterfly book and should be finished by next week. I am a very bad Disney bride - we have been married since November - but I am making it my vow to be finished by next week - besides the fact that I just got a coupon for 25% off if I order by August 5th. I am working non-stop now.

How many pages can you make in a blurb book? Unfortunately in Shutterfly you can only do 100 - you would think that should be enough - but after receiving 3500 photos from Misty - 100 pages is not enough.

Enough about my book - back to your journal.

I just posted and saw I missed yours. Thanks for the compliments :goodvibes

I really don't know how big a blurb book can be. The biggest number they show on the price list is 440 pages. My book is 200 pages. Actually, it was 202 pages, but I found out that the price difference between 200 and 202 pages was like $15 so I made some sacrifices :lmao:

And I agree 100 pages is nothing. Actually, I showed my mom the preview of the book and when it finished she was like "that's it!?" I feel the same way :rotfl: I didn't get anywhere near 3500 photos, so I cannot imagine the decisions you have to make. Good luck though :thumbsup2

Thanks :goodvibes I definitely think Sea Breeze Point would look great without any decorations, but the chair covers are relatively inexpensive and do add that extra touch.

Thanks :goodvibes I had absolutely zero input on the cake table. The bow matched the chair sashes but that was put there without me knowing about it. I really don't remember looking too closely at other escape brides tables so maybe it's standard. I don't really know though.

The ceremony: Part II | I obsess and we exchange vows
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-056.jpg

So Ron starts talking and I am trying to be present and listen but it's really hard. All I want to do is turn my head and inspect the cake table. I want Ron to move so I can inspect the sand ceremony table. I want to look at the flowers on the columns. So I tell myself they aren't going anywhere and try to focus myself.

My sister starts walking behind me and my immediate thought is that she is for some reason going to sit down, so I start mumbling "uh no...what are are you doing?" I then quickly realize she is just straightening my dress. hahaha.

So Ron is still talking. I think now is a good time to give some more SBP tips. Well, as you all know I am sure, chair covers with sashes are $8.50 each. I wanted 8 chairs for "the audience." Now as far as the chairs for eating, to me the logical thing would just be to reuse the same chairs. I assumed based on all my reading here that the chairs would be the plastic lawn chairs that you see in many other TRs...so they would be easy to just lift and bring over to wherever they set up the eating tables.

Sidenote: don't ask me how they decide where to set up tables. I have seen so many TRs with the food chairs and tables all over the place...on the grass, on the other aisle, in the back. So I have no idea how they decide.

Well anyway, during the planning Amy tells me that isn't possible, they don't want guests moving the chairs. Well I wasn't about to pay for another 12 chairs (because keep in mind now the bridal party would need to sit and each) to be covered. Because honestly, who has pictures of people eating? So in my mind I thought whatever, I'll just have the plastic lawn chairs for eating.

Well...let's just say these wide shots will not make the book.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-197-2.jpg

I have NEVER seen these type of chairs in all my research at SBP. I have no idea why they were there. But if it's really important to you, I guess I would not make assumptions about the plastic white chairs being there.

Here is a shot from the back. This is another one that didn't make the book, but I thought it would be helpful, because it gives you an idea of the logistics of things. You can see where the water table is; where they have the wheely cart thing for the cake, etc.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-196-1.jpg

Finally, it's time to exchange vows. While I was getting ready Patricia asked if I thought I would cry. "Pft. NO!," I said. I am your cliche-holds-in-all-emotion-Irish-Catholic. When a facebook quiz tells me I would be Snape if I was a Hogwart's teacher, all I can really say is "yea, well, it's true." Sarcasm is about as emotional as I get. I was CONFIDENT I would not cry.

Well, I didn't cry, but boy was I close. I kept pausing and choking up because I could feel the tears coming and I refused to cry in front of people. hehehe. Michael's hands were shaking and that didn't help. I could hear my mom crying. I could hear his mom crying. It's just very hard to describe. I planned for almost a year. For the past few months during the last period of the day at exactly one minute before the bell rang I was like "ok, let's go. Pack up and get out of here. Ms. Shea has -a dress fitting -to pick up jewelry -to make a phone call ...etc, etc." It consumes your life. And then finally the moment is here. I couldn't believe this was it. I couldn't believe there was no major catastrophe yet. It was going according to plan. This would never happen again. Again, I'm not writer, so I really can't describe it. You'll know what I mean when your up there.

Donald and Daisy watch :-)
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-047.jpg

Now originally I wanted a unity candle because I thought a sand ceremony was kind of a weird fad and no one would get it. Well I actually recently just went to a Chicago wedding with a sand ceremony so I ran with it. In the end I think it worked because as weird as displaying a glass bowl of sand is in your home, it works more to me than displaying a candle. Plus I didn't have to worry about the flame blowing out; which it would have. So Beauty and the Beast starts to play and Michael and I start pouring sand.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-061-1.jpg

I am pouring MUCH faster than Michael at this point and I try and slow down so it doesn't look all uneven and weird. I really want to just grab his sand and tip it over more so it starts pouring out faster but I controlled myself.

:rotfl2: This is great!

Also, re: the chairs, I think that since they use that kind of chair when you ask for covers, they just brought extra for your cake-cutting, instead of having to bring the plastic chairs plus the convention chairs that were to be covered.

I'm sad you can't use that great wide shot because of the chairs - I'll bet Studio 222 could Photoshop them out for ya! :thumbsup2

The ceremony: Part IV | A 10 minute ceremony closes
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-237-1.jpg

After the sand ceremony, things were coming to a close. Michael and I rejoined hands once again, and Ron began to close. By the power vested in him by the state of Florida...all that jazz. He pronounced us husband and wife and announced us leaving with the same names we came in with. If you are considering this; it doesn't sound weird at all :thumbsup2

And we walk off into the sunset. Actually we don't. We walk about 10 steps to the entrance of SBP.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-247-1.jpg

Then the most awkward part of the wedding, so I can't believe they caught a decent picture...Michael and I stand there for a receiving line I guess. My sisters and mom hug Mike and then we pretty much just stand there and thank god Amy comes over and asks us if we want the champagne. YES PLEASE.

Time to eat, drink, and be merry
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-069.jpg

So we walk over to the cake table and I am generally pleased with the cake. The flowers are...cute. I don't know what I was expecting. Something a little more glossy I think. They were just very communion cake flowers to me. But whatever, I liked it. When I originally showed the Donald and Daisy figure to my sister she said the cake was going to look like a birthday cake. So I thought well maybe I can talk to the ceramics teacher and see if I can paint it to make it look like Donald is wearing a suit and then glue a veil on Daisy. Well in the end I decided not to. After my disastrous attempt trying to make the Mickey fans, I knew this painting project would just end in a lot of wasted time and money and would ruin the figure. In the end I think the cake was colorful and worked with the decor.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-049-1.jpg

So Amy distributes the champagne and asks if anyone wants to do a toast. This was something I didn't plan because I didn't want to put anyone in the embarrassing situation of having to speak, but Carl actually volunteered, so ok...

You kind of had to be there and know us, but just trust me that it was funny.

I love Mike's face here
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-260.jpg

So Carl wraps it up and we tap glasses and people sip.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-070.jpg

I don't sip. I chug like a total lush. Why? Because I'm the only person who knows that Donald and Daisy don't come out until the drinks are gone.

First off, the Fairy Tale Cuvee is gross. After reading here how delicious it was, I had unrealistic expectations. But in my opinion it tastes like any another cheap champagne. But like I already said, I downed that sucker really fast. Amy walked over and told me the special guests would be arriving any second.

"Special guests?" asked Michael. "What's going on?"

"Nothing. We are just going to cut the cake."

"She said special guests."

"CUTTING CAKE FJKHSFJKLHGFSJKHLFS."

The violinist then started to play and then every turned and realized what was happening.

I saw my mom start to cry and Michael was just shocked. :-D I've always preferred Donald and Daisy. When I was little, we would search the parks for Daisy. When my mom went to guest relations to ask where she was she was told that Daisy was too small to walk around, but she was in the parade. hahaha. Well, of course NOW Daisy is easy to find. Early-mid 90's...not so much.

So Donald and Daisy come over and say hello and help us cut the cake.

The characters being there is another weird thing you can't prepare yourself for by reading the boards. It was very much an act, with perfectly timed music from the violinist. I wasn't expecting it to be so perfectly choreographed. Donald and Daisy walked us over and attempted to dance with us. We were super awkward and that ended very quickly.

Our guests had a little more fun with the dancing

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-334-1.jpg

Donald and Daisy then surprised us, and I think that's all I can say. Those in the know know what I'm talking about. I have a great picture of Mike's reaction. Afterwards he asked me I knew and I said of course, I know everything. My sister actually knew too. She got us engraved champagne flutes and the people who did the engraving told her what was going to happen because they said they engrave those all the time.

Sadly, Donald and Daisy had to get going....

:thumbsup2

Hehehe well color me surprised. I never knew these chairs were a possibility. I just assumed they covered the plastic ones!

omg! beautiful!!! i can't wait for more, and i love your mouse shoes!

Ceremony winds down
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-357.jpg

So after Donald and Daisy left it was finally time to eat.

Any 30 Rock fans? I was seriously "ME WANT FOOD" at this point.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-356.jpg

I thought the cake was pretty good. The white chocolate mousse tasted like ice cream. I very much enjoyed it over the next week.

So we eat and then mill around for a couple minutes. I remind everyone to meet at bluezoo at 5:00. My parents were going back to BCV to drop off the cake in my fridge. Mike's parents were taking the sand ceremony and champagne flutes. I have no idea what my sisters, their boyfriends, and Carl did for the next 2 hours. I saw a snapshot of them on a friendship boat. Other than that, no clue. I think they went to ESPN Zone for some drinks.

Before everyone left my mom and sister attempted my bustle. This was something that should have been practiced beforehand. My sister took a picture on her camera and showed me and was like "is this how it's supposed to look?" I just blinked and said "forget, I will just wear it down." and my mom said "no no, we'll figure it out." I really don't know if they ever did.

What a beautiful wedding! I love the pink and purple. The part about your hubby thinking the cake stand was your cake is too funny!
I totally agree with you about the obsessing, that's my biggest fear about my wedding day ( whenever that day may come) that I'll spend too much time worrying and obsessing and end up missing out on the day.
Congratulations on a beautiful day, and awesome pictures to remember it by!

Dinner Reception at bluezoo
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-115.jpg

So our as our portrait session with Nate and Becka was coming to a close, we started walking over the The Dolphin for dinner. Well, if you've read my PJ, you know my reasoning behind this. I wanted a private meal; so basically every Disney restaurant was out.

So I considered changing to Wishes and getting a banquet room but the more I thought about it, the more I figured it wasn't worth the trouble, because I really don't like the look of banquet halls. Now many people here have had beautiful dinners in banquet halls...but that's because they paid to decorate it and make it look nice. I wanted to put as little money as possible into decorating.

So I researched places at Swan/Dolphin and bluezoo's private room looked nice. It had seafood, which we like. So..winner!

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-116-1.jpg

Now if I had to do it again, I probably would have had petals on the table or a pink runner in the center. But really it would have just been for this one picture. Regardless, I liked the details.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-118.jpg

You may recall these from the sand ceremony...except now they have spikey things in them :confused3 I did not request these. I did not enjoy them. But c'est la vie.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-442.jpg

Chocolate place cards. I put some nicknames on them. Momma J is for my mom because she loves Momma Jumbo from Dumbo :cutie:
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-113.jpg

These were sitting on the left over Hercules meet and greet props at the ceremony.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-443.jpg

Bluezoo has this cool translucent wine rack thing in the back

More kissing
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-119.jpg

The private room is at the back of the restaurant. The doors close.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopfav-120.jpg

So we all sit down and the wait staff comes in and starts taking orders
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-465.jpg

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/moskopwedding-446.jpg

Shortly after this, Becka and Nate left, so I only have snapshots at this point. I tried really hard with photoshop to make some food pics look slick. Here are my attempts.

Bluezoos signature drink
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding055retouched.jpg

I don't remember what it was called, but it tasted like a mojito
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding074retouched.jpg

Crabcake
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding073COPY.jpg

Cucumber ceviche
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding083retouched.jpg

Bread
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding085.jpg

Now sadly my mind was elsewhere. I didn't take really any other food pics until they were halfway eaten, so it looks gross. However, here is the menu for those interested:

Menu
Amuse
pan seared mallard foie gras...seasonal fruit garniture

Raw bar
oyster, littleneck clam, jumbo shrimp, half maine lobster tail, horseradish, cocktail sauce, mignonette

First Course
seared crab cake...house remoulade
or
teppan seared jumbo scallops...braised beef short rib, silky cauliflower puree

Second Course
tossed mesculin salad...roasted beets, walnut vinaigrette
or
cucumber ceviche...brunoise cucumber, jalepeno, cilantro

Main Course
tuscan tuna...white bean puree, tomato, artichoke, pine nut
or
char grilled beef tenderloin...maytag mash, roasted carrot, spinach, agro dolce
or
simply fish...mustard crab sauce, silky potatoes, hears of palm-fennel salad
or
heritage half chicken...carolina free range chicken, macaire potato, english peas, wild mushrooms

My only regret of the day is having too much food. If I did it again, it would be crab cakes, and a choice of entree and that's it. The amount of food was ridiculous. I was barely eating after the crab cakes. I think I bit like one thing at the dessert party. So the lesson here; don't waste money on food. No one will starve at your wedding.

Sistas
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding068.jpg

One of the wonderful waiters, JC, was subjected to my blonde mother unfortunately. She kept calling him CJ, AJ, TJ, etc. Not because she is rude, but because she is an airhead. I say it with love.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding066.jpg

One thing I remember talking about while eating is Mike mentioning how happy he was that we did this. We would have had a miserable time at a church/banquet hall wedding in Chicago. It would have cost an enormous amount of money and we still would have had to cut a million corners. I never dreamed about my wedding growing up because I always kind of dreaded it. I never imagined a Disney wedding would have been possible. At this point in the day, the wedding was more than halfway over, and it was basically going perfectly. Everything was going according to plan. No one was fighting or bickering. It was just simply magical at this point. My parents had a church/banquet wedding in Chicago and they say it's one of their biggest regrets. If they could do it again, they would have gone to Vegas. So basically, I guess the lesson is do what you want for your wedding.

About an hour or so into the dinner, my sister then felt obligated to speak, even though again, I never requested it. She told the story of how Mike and I met and it was riddled with inaccuracies. hehehe
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding079.jpg

She told Mike he was the brother she never had and then they hugged. Now you have to understand that Mike and my sister are like oil and water and constantly make fun of each other and bicker. So after the speech, when Mike motioned her to come over for a hug....I knew it was "pink elephants on parade" for Michael :rotfl: Soon enough dinner was over and it was time for the dessert party...with an open bar O_O

Thanks for the great info on Bluezoo! We're definitely thinking of doing our dinner there for many of the same reasons (private dining, proximity to SBP, etc)....plus our wedding is on a Friday during Lent, and, for the most part, our families are Catholic and Greek Orthodox....so we definitely need seafood options! :thumbsup2

Second of all... I'm glad you wrote about how you and Mike we happy that you had your wedding at disney. I feel the same way about church/banquet hall weddings. Unfortunately I do not have the prices still. I know there were like 5 different menus ranging from $55/per person to $112/per person. I think they would be willing to customize though. My menu originally included a dessert but luckily I knew that was too much, so I had it removed. I also requested that Simply Fish be added in place of something I don't remember. If you email Liz Torres, I'm sure she'd be happy to send you current prices.

Katie, your wedding looked like it was truly perfect. I love the portraits, Bluezoo looked awesome! Seriously, it just looks wonderful. It makes me want to do an escape. Simple, elegant, fun. Of course, our must invites are beyond 25, but not by much :( haha

Your wonderful pictures of your elegant reception at Bluezoo have made me think of it as a serious contendor for our Escape meal!! I wonder if I could ask you a couple of questions?

What did you do about wine/drinks?

I see that you had your own decorations on the table, I plan on having the Cindy's coach decoration and floral. Do you think this would be allowed?

What color were the linens and do you think they would allow you to add bows to the napkins?

Were you allowed to place your favors on the table? I am aware that your planner can arrange for two items each guest to be placed and after that it is $35.00 an hour to place any more.

Thanks for your help!!

Well, they offered making one of the signature drinks for everyone and handing them out when they got there, but I decided against it because I know a lot of people wouldn't like. I also received an extensive wine list before hand if I wanted to buy any bottles in advance. In the end though, no one is really a big wine drinker, so people just ordered the individual beers/mixed drinks that they wanted.

Yes I think they will allow any decorations that you want.

The linens were white, and I didn't make any requests, but I am sure they would accommodate anything you wanted. Now the question is how much they will charge you for making the accommodations :lmao:

I don't really know about the favors. Disney put out the chocolate place cards for me, but that was the only favor I had.

The Dessert Party
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-001COPYCOPY.jpg

So the dinner was finally winding down. It was fantastic. I loved bluezoo and as I've already said my only regret is having so much food.

The only thing that really bothered me though was at the end, someone brought me a bill  I was extremely aggravated (but did not show it) because 1. that is so tacky and 2. I had no credit card on me 3. I really didn't need to see the grand total. I wanted the trauma after the day was over :lmao:

So I said that Liz (the coordinator at bluezoo) already had my credit card number, and to just run with it. So then I got another check to sign. There was a space for a tip. Uh, the grand total was well over the $1200 minimum and there is an automatic 21% gratuity:scared1: So let's just say I didn't feel guilty writing a 0.

Now I had arranged for 3 towncars to pick us up at The Dolphin and drive us backstage to Morocco. Amy told me it would be fine if we all met at IG and were escorted. But I was paranoid about several things:

1. Rain. What if it was raining? We would walk from Dolphin to IG in our clothes? Uh...
2. The stress of the walk. It's a long walk for some people in our group with medical problems.
3. Having to run the show and guide everyone.

So obviously Amy told me about the whole charter thing and that is ridiculously overpriced, so I thought no way. The towncars were $25 each, and I could live with that. Everyone would be walking back, but at the end of the night, who cares.

So we all split up into the towncars. I was with my parents and sister. Our driver was nice and talkative. Going backstage was very cool. The only part of Keys to the Kingdom that I liked was the backstage stuff. I just really enjoy seeing the nitty gritty "real" stuff. As we entered into the backstage, the driver told us about the gate they installed after 9/11...it supposedly can withstand the force of an 18-wheeler :scared1: Awesome. Those are the factoids I love to hear...Walt's name being on a window on Main Street, uh, no so much.

So our car pulls up and our event guide collects everyone's tickets. I had discussed with my family beforehand about the tickets. I explained that it would REALLY help us out if they bought 7 day instead of 6 day park passes. The difference is only like $4. The viewing fee is $12.50; so obviously it makes more sense to just use a day on the pass. If you have a small group like me with immediate family that you can be honest with, I recommend this. It saved some money. The only person we had to pay a viewing fee for was Carl. He was only staying 2 days and we gave him our 2 MYW passes that we had to get to get the buy 4 get 3 free room deal.

So then the event guide pulls out her little light saber glow stick, opens the gate, and we are in the park. At this point everyone surrounding us started clapping and we go so many congratulations. It was so magical. I really can't describe it. It was like a movie.

I was pleased when we got to Morocco. Because of these boards, I had nightmares about it being horrible, but it's a really nice location. I don't know if really comes across in the pictures, but if you are an escape/Morocco bride, rest assured, it will be great.

When we got there Michael kept going on about how this was the greatest day of his life. Granted, he still maintains it being true, but I think he was a little inebriated at this point :cutie: His mom started crying though when she heard him say this.

In true female fashion, all I wanted to do was go to the bathroom. I don't know why I didn't go at bluezoo. You know, actually I think I did, but the alcohol was running through me and I wanted to go ASAP so I didn't miss anything. The event guide escorted me and my sister to Chefs de France to use the bathroom there. The waiters at the restaurant went crazy when I walked in. I have to say, I am the type of person who keeps my head down and avoids eye contact and generally hates any attention, but it was pretty enjoyable on my wedding day :-D

While I was gone, people took some pics.

I think at this point, I have to start my mea culpa to Disney Photography. I guess in the end, I am not that unhappy with my pictures. I like my ceremony pictures, but there are a lot of them that area very far away or don't include our faces. Disney Photography did a lot of very clear face shots. So it was a good balance. Yes, you all saw the bad fireworks shots, and I wish there were more good ones, but at least we got one good one, right? There are some good pics, and they are the ones I am posting now (although some are snapshots. I think it's obvious which are which)

When I got back from the bathroom Mike and I realize that Carl gave the event guide his ticket. NOOOOOOOO. He had two MYW tickets, so if she scanned it, that was $75 down the drain. Luckily, she had not scanned them yet. Phew.

I posted my menu earlier in my PJ, so if you care, you can go and find it. Honestly, I barely ate. I was so full at this point. I did put food in my mouth, but you really can't enjoy it when you are shoving it down. It looked cute though.

The only bad thing was the bowl of tiramisu. I love tiramisu. Love. This was basically a bowl of cool whip and some biscotti. It wasn't even remotely like tiramisu. Am I missing something? It was literally a bowl of whipped cream. Is it some weird Chicago thing, or is tiramisu NOT some coffee tasting cake?

Cheap and easy decor that everyone on these boards gets. They were cute, but if you are in a pinch, I wouldn't hesitate to cut them. The tables became so filled with glow stick bags, purses, drinks, food, etc...they were kind of pointless.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding095-1.jpg

Speaking of the glow sticks, main were those a great purchase. I gave them at the welcome party assuming everyone would save them for Spectromagic. But everyone brought them for the wedding. They were a fun touch.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-034-1.jpg

The party was just so fun. There is no word for it. The bar tender was hilarious too. He was so sarcastic, which is my style. My sister asked for a Pabst Blue Ribbon...he was like, "uh...I could pour beer through a sock for you." :lmao:

There was just a lot of hanging out and talking.
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding105-1.jpg

And of course pictures. You already saw the family pictures, which I'm not crazy about. But I'm not crazy about the other family pictures either. You can't win 'em all. My sister and Michael's sister being shutterbugs was a lifesaver though. They got a lot of good shots. Obviously the quality of the picture isn't great, but sometimes I think family just knows when to snap.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding102-1.jpg

"The girls" lined up for a shot
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-036.jpg

So that was the professional picture, and the only reason I post it is to show this picture my sister's boyfriend got on her camera while we were posing
http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/wedding116-1.jpg

Hahaha. I love it. THIS IS WHY I WORE FLATS. All you girls in heels, kudos. I think you're nuts. hahaha. But the dessert party, as you can see, everyone learned the valuable lesson of wearing comfortable shoes in Disney World.

So eventually it's time for the show and me and Michael get ready for our pictures. As I'm sure you already know, you will not watch the show. You are facing the camera almost the entire time.

http://i409.photobucket.com/albums/pp172/PrincessKShea/151560609-064-1.jpg

This is my favorite picture of the entire wedding. Just a note that I have cropped it to make it look centered and played with the brightness and contrast, so the 8X10 I got from Walgreens looks a lot better than this. But still, definitely a keeper in my book.

I would have been equally annoyed. Who did you arrange the towncar transportation through or with? Thanks. I love all your details, it truly helps us fellow Escape brides.

Thanks for posting all of the DP pictures at Morocco, Katie! I agree with you that Morocco gets a pretty bad rap here on the boards and it was nice to see some great pictures. Also nice to see that your one sister, whom I believe you said wasn't that tall, could easily see over the wall. Some people make it sound like you have to be part-giant to see over it! :rotfl:

Looks like you had a great evening!

Yea the wall was a total non-issue. If I did not compulsively read the boards here, the height of the wall is something I would not have even noticed during the party :confused3

Yeah, for some reason, Epcot doesn't get Tiramisu (which I don't get). We had tiramisu at our DP at Sago Cay Pointe, and it was much more normal (but in martini glasses).

Everything else at your party looked GREAT!

Hahaha. Basically. Actually, yours looks a little more fancy. You can see what mine looked like in the picture of my dad and sister picking out food. It's right under her arm.

Truly bizarre. It'd be like me wanting pizza and them bringing me tomato soup with some cheese and pepperoni in it :confused3

Read through the whole TR last night, but was too tired to post a comment! :rotfl2: What a beautiful wedding you had, my dear!! I loved the Donald and Daisy topper you had, and their visit was priceless! You were a stunning bride! :goodvibes

If DL had some sort of DP option (and we could swing being able to afford it), seeing your pictures from yours makes me wish I could have one! :rolleyes1 Having the fireworks so closeby seems amazing!

One more thing!! I loved your picture of the random people filming your wedding! I was in stitches when I saw that and read what you had to say about it. :rotfl:

I have to thank you again for your descriptive TR!!! It is really SO helpful for Escape brides, and people who don't have a PS or a chance to visit before. I really had a totally different vision of what I thought Morocco would look like. For some reason I thought it was more of an alcove, private area, I'm not sure why. DF and I have been debating between Morocco and Sago Cay, but after we sat down and went through your DP post, I think we have settled on Morocco.

Again, your pictures really lay out (for both the ceremony and DP) what it REALLY looks like, so now I feel like I have been there, and have a better feel what is going on, so THANKS:thumbsup2

You look so amazing in all your pictures, and everyone looks like they had a great time :goodvibes

Thanks so much :goodvibes I know your DL wedding will be beautiful no matter what! And yea, the paparazzi people were weird, but I'm glad the photographers got a pic because you are so self-absorbed in your own wedding, I never would have known people were doing it otherwise.

Katie,

I have really enjoyed reading your TR!! Everything was so beautiful! It's amazing how our 2 weddings were both held at SBP close to the same time, and yet were completely different. I think that's the beauty of Disney! They do such a wonderful job of personalizing even an Escape wedding!

You were gorgeous! And I know you were a little disappointed with your flowers, but I loved them. I also liked your idea of having Mike stay turned while you were walking down the aisle. What a great idea!

Thank you so much! I only disliked the closed-ness of my roses, which eventually opened. I ended up loving the bouquet in the end! And Mike staying turned wasn't my idea. I didn't even think of it! It was all Ron, so thank god for him!

And I just want to post the most awesome wedding gift we just got today.

Hi Katie,
Your wedding was just beautiful! I had a question I forgot to ask when you covered your dessert party: for the Disney photography package they offer, will they let you go take some pictures "around the world" in different countries before the show like some of the outside photogs have done? Did you do this, or ask about this? I wondering because if they did, then a seperate Epcot photo shoot with the Magic Kingdom one like I wanted to do wouldnt really be neccesary! Thanks! :goodvibes
