View Full Version : Do any cat. 3 rooms have pull-down upper berths, or do all have sofa beds?

While we are excited about having a cat. 3 suite on the Magic this fall, we are concerned about not having the 'bunk' style beds for the kids. No way can those 2 sleep together on a sofa bed! It'll be war!!

Do any of the cat. 3 staterooms have the pull-downs? We are booked in 8102, which is very nice and has a wonderful private deck, but these sleeping arrangements really concern me.

Any input or suggestions???

Thanks!

Most of the Cat. 3s all have a sofa bed AND a pull-down bed...not from the ceiling, from the wall. HOWEVER, the handicapped-accessible Cat. 3s -- which you have -- only sleep four, and just have the sofa bed.

Thanks Michelle!

I just sent my TA an email asking her to check availability of other cat. 3 rooms for our sailing.

I'll really miss that huge private deck that 8102 has, but I imagine the other cat. 3's have large decks too, right?

WHAT would I do without these boards?? :) :)

P.S. How much do you think an upgrade to cat. 2 would cost for 4 people - assuming there is availability? ;)

I have sailed in a 8600 (the same as 8100, next to your current stateroom) and a mid-ship Cat. 3, 8034. I prefer the NON-metal verandah on the mid-ship Cat. 3s, even though 8600 is HUGE and the verandah is large (8601 and 8102 are even larger). I like to be able to see the ocean while sitting down and that's not possible in the far aft rooms on the ship.

I hope there is availability for another Cat. 3 that sleeps five for you. As for a Cat. 2, good luck...those puppies are almost as hard to get as a Cat. 1! ;) They'll also run you about $600 per per person more than the Cat. 3.

Have fun! :)

Just watch out where your pull down bed is. We were in 8078 last cruise and it was in our bedroom. Kinda defeated the purpose of having our own bedroom. I know for a fact that the cat.2 and 1 are completely booked for as far ahead as they are taking reservations.

I READ YOUR POST. WE HAVE ROOM 8078 THIS JUNE. WHEN I SAW YOUR POST, I CALLED DISNEY AND THEY SAID THE PULL DOWN BERTH WAS NOT IN THE MASTER SUITE. ARE YOU SURE YOU STAYED IN THAT ROOM? I HOPE DISNEY IS RIGHT OR THE ROOM WOULD NOT BE WORTH THE MONEY

Yes we most definately had room 8078 and the pull down was definately in the bedroom with us. I am finding it amazing at how much incorrect information you can get from the Disney reservationists. My next cruise was canceled due to dry docking and I have been having a real problem with wrong information while trying to rebook. On the other hand we did enjoy 8078 it was a great location. You are close to the stairs, just a short trip up to the pool. We gave the kids a lot of freedom to go up and down on their own because of how close it was.
