Past years my wife has made comments on how bland our resort window is. Some people have toys or towel animals in their windows. So last August I suggested we bring stuff to put in the window. We brought a small suitcase full of Disney plush toys and a few plastic statues.
We were on the first floor and people were always stopping to look and we were always getting complements  so I guess we have a new tradition.
Right now we are looking for a little Christmas tree for our December trip. Can you take Christmas lights in your carry on ? :lmao:
Not really, but I'm sure we'll come up with something.
And I'll be darned, I can't find a picture of our window. I'll have to ask my wife.
Does anyone else put things in their resort window?

I haven't so far, but for our trip in January I might bring some Christmas window clings. We're from Philadelphia, so we're looking forward to being snowbirds! But I think we want to bring some of our home there!! But if we have a blizzard, I'm sure those thoughts of back home will stay home with the snow, and the window clings will be left behind!

There were reports last month that Disney is no longer allowing Guests to decorate their resort room windows or doors. The reason, of course, was abuse - some Guests were leaving tape residue on glass and frames, and some were using the so-called "washable" window markers and not washing them off (in reality they leave streaks even when you do wash them off), and a few were even damaging walls with tapes and thumbtacks, and marking on windows with real, permanent markers.
The general consensus is that you may now get away with placing loose items in the window sill, magnets on the doors, and vinyl static clings on the windows, but no lights or electrical decorations, and nothing that requires tape, tacks, or other adhesive to stick up.
When I go to Pop in 4 weeks, I plan on taking some window clings, and nothing else.

Wow, I wouldn't even think of using tape, tacks or paint.
Vinyl Clings are a great idea though. :worship:
Magnets on the door, I'd be afraid someone would walk off with them.

We decorate everytime we are at Disney World. Birthdays:cake: , anniversary:hug: , Christmas:santa: , Halloween:joker: , any occasion that warrants a little something. Window clings are the best. We occasionally use tape, but we have cleaner in case it leaves a little something behind,(never had to use it though). We use suction cup hooks for lights in the windows. Every Christmas there is a small tree near a window. Looking forward to Christmas this year. We will be out at Ft. Wilderness, where people really know how to decorate.:thumbsup2 Happy Decorating!:goodvibes

I'm just curious - how do you hang your stockings inside the room? I haven't been able to figure out how to do it!:santa:

Suction cups work the best for our stockings but they have to be the real big ones. lol
The airlines will check a tree box just the same as your checked bags. I've done it many times and I often pack the lights and other trim in the box as well. The tree boxes with handles are especially convenient for toting around the airport. We've never had anything broken but the airline normally makes you sign a waiver. Just be sure to follow the airline weight and size limits so as not to get charged extra. You can imagine the looks and laughs we get walking through MCO with a 6ft tree box on our cart lol But nothing compares to having a "real" tree in your room when you come back from the parks at night. :santa:

we take 2 of the plastic wreath hooks we purchased at walmart. (it worked at ASMu and POFQ)
hung backwards inside the room over the entry door.
i dont put ours in the window because they get so heavy with the goodies we sneak in while girls are asleep on the 24th.
