Hubby just finished more updates to our website (www.*****************). We FINALLY got photos of the pulldown ceiling bed (thanks to Dave's inspiration...he was the first person to document that process). We also have pics. of a Cat. 4 family stateroom, and stuff we put out there previously includes the new Castaway Jo activity area on Castaway Cay and pics. of Common Grounds. Enjoy!!
Next big update will be after our Western Caribbean sailing on May 25th...can't wait :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Ok Barb and Tony,
I just looked at the pictures of the bed which comes out of the ceiling on your website and now I am nervous. What exactly holds that bed up? I didn't see any type of supports. What's it's weight limit and what is to stop it from coming down and crushing the person underneath? Ok, ok, I admit I am a little neurotic about safety. Somebody ease my mind!

Hmmmmm,
Good questions!!
We never actually used it. We just asked our stateroom host to demonstrate it so we could get photos because I remembered how cool Dave's pics. were. Hopefully someone who has actually used it will be able to respond!

The berth is supported by heavy-duty hinges and by resting laterally against the wall. The weight limit is 220 pounds (100 kg).

Does the sofa in the Cat. 4 rooms actually fold our to a bed? I have a 26 month old and not sure if she will stay on the bed without rails or a sofa.
Anyone, anyone, anyone........
Bueller????
couldn't resist,
thanks

We had a cat6, both of my daughters hated the upper berth, we have booked the same cabin for a 7 day western, but this time we are bringing an aero bed (it was that or pay a lot more for a family suite). you may want to consider the same. They fill in 60 seconds and are very comfortable.

Wow, I can't believe it? My children kill each other to get the upper bunk. Yelling, screaming, trading off, bribing, the whole works. We cruise June 29th and the "I call the upper bunk" has already started.
Our families should cruise together, sharing uppers and lowers!

Mary Ann, if you have four people on your reservation then your room definitely sleeps four...DCL automatically makes sure you have enough bedding in your room for the party size.
Bill, the sofa does not fold out, it simply converts to a SINGLE bed in the same space that it is in as a sofa.
Thanks for the latest pics, Barb & Tony! :)

I guess you take the cushions off and you have a single bed. Can you put bed rails on this sofa bed? I will be putting the cushions on the floor for padding in case of a roll off.

with out then 3.5 yo son. The cabin steward fixed the sofa into a bed every night, and we had requested a bed rail. He had only JUST moved into a big boy bed at home, so I, like you, was a little worried. He did great. He was so tired at the end of the day that he was literally asleep before his head hit the pillow. He slept straight through til morning and no mishaps.
Enjoy!

DAVE, YOU SEEM TO KNOW A LOT ABOUT DISNEY CRUISES. I NOTICED ANOTHER PERSON SAID CAT. 3 ROOM 8078 HAD A PULL DOWN BERTH FOR THE 5TH PERSON IN WITH THE MASTER SUITE. I CALLED DISNEY AND THEY SAID IT WASN'T, THAT IT IS IN THE LIVING ROOM AREA. THE PERSON ON THIS FORUM SAID THEY HAD THIS ROOM AND IT IS IN THE MASTER BEDROOM. HOW CAN I GET A DEFINITE ON THIS WITH A GUARANTEE FROM DISNEY. I DON'T WANT TO PAY THIS MUCH FOR A ROOM AND GET THERE TO FIND OUT I MIGHT AS WELL HAVE GOTTEN A REGULAR FAMILY ROOM. THANKS FOR ANY INFO YOU MIGHT HAVE.

Enough about the beds...let's talk food...lol....Barb, were there any menu changes on your latest cruise? Did they have a late night snack buffet set up outside the clubs on 3 nite cruise? Is CC still giving return members that great duffle bag?? Thanks!

CBEPPERSON, everything I have seen indicates that only 8032, 8034, 8532, and 8534 have the fifth berth in the living room rather than the bedroom. It seems that the fifth berth is indeed in the bedroom in all other Category 3's.

Yes, Sandee, they still have the midnight snacks, and there were no major menu changes.
And yep, the bag is still the Castaway Club gift. We just sold our last one, but of course we will have another one after our May 25th cruise unless they switch to something different for the Western.

We had a cat. 4 family suite on our 4-day cruise back in 1999 and both of my son's LOVED the ceiling bed, so they had to take turns on alternate nights. My oldest som was 14 then and although he is about average height and weight, the bed held him up just fine. Hope this helps, SEE-YAA!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:
