My 14 year old daughter brought home her 15 year old friend from school.

Well the 15 year old friend has just bitten her on the back and nearly made it bleed. :scared1: My Daughter isn't bothered and insists she was only joking around but i'm fuming.
To top it all i sprayed it with Savlon (germs and all that) and her friend says and i quote " I ain't got TB or nothing" " I was only playing"
Is this normal behavior??? I had to bite my tongue not to say anything when really all i wanted to do was push her out the door.

My outer adult has pick of the birthday presents (just under 3 weeks before Christmas), as he wants money to buy some corals for his marine fish tank and also a trip to London to see Avenue Q. So - I gave my inner child the pick of the christmas presents :lmao:

:rotfl: How old is she? My DD wanted at PC:scared1:

She's only 6:scared1: - we have a pc & a laptop. Think that's enough, thank you very much. And she wants her own Nintendo DS as well - as it is, she plays with mine during the day at weekends. So she does not need one of her own. Although having said that, I'm starting to think it might be a fab idea to get another one coz my little DS has started playing with it as well. So, lots of 'it's my turn', 'no, I've only just started', 'no, it's my turn now' at the weekends:headache:

But he'll be getting the Handy Manny talking doll/tool set from Disney Store (he's sooo into Handy Manny), a huge Playdoh set from Woolies, some sort of Lego construction/digger building set and books.

Oh and they'll also get to choose a couple of things (hopefully only a couple of things:rotfl: ) from DLRP.

Yes - discworld 1 was the best one as well. I loved the Monkey Island games (same type of game as discworld but full of pirates and the like) just as much, if not more.

Monkey Island rules!! It's what got me and my brother so hooked on Pirates!

We still have a dream of buying a boat and moving to the Carribbean to become 'Pirates'

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you're having a nice day so far. I've had quite a good morning... been spending money lol. Bought a few more Xmas pressies and I've just put them away now. Have also written a list in case I forget what I've bought or where I've put them.

What a good idea. I'm always doing that.

Mind you our entire house it a disaster zone at the moment as we are having to clear out years worth of clutter to make space for new baby. Moved our entire bedroom round yesterday and took 4 black sacks of rubbish out of it :scared1:

I try and de-clutter every month (or every 6 wks or so) and it's just the kids' stuff (paper, paper and more paper... and 'artwork') and a few bits & bobs and it doesn't take much effort at all to fill up one black sack! But it does make me feel so good though throwing stuff out. Means I can buy more stuff:rotfl:

We kept nearly everything so we don't really have anything to buy....but we have bought a few new up to 1 month clothes from M&S, a double buggy and a swinging crib. Other than that I think we are sorted

Monkey island is quite easy to get to play again compared to a lot of other games that age (the original MI is 18 years old now  )

All you need is a copy of a program called ScummVM (free, legal download) and a legal copy of Monkey Island (harder to track down due to the games age).

ScummVM works on almost every system you can imagine, including Windows Vista I believe.

I also think ScummVM is able to play discworld so long as you have an original disc (not sure though).

That sounds like you're not talking about the original monkey island then. Then original is ancient and will run on almost anything you throw it at :goodvibes

It's not until Monkey Island 3 that you start requiring any sort of powerful PC.

Nope because she just has the trait and not full blown sickle cell she is not really affected. But if she meets someone who has sickle cell her children could inherit it.

Her grandma (dads side) has sickle cell, Jameil passed on the trait to Kyra. (all very confusing lol)

So Kyra is a sort of carrier, but not a sufferer? I remember my friend explained that the symptoms could be very painful. I don't really understand what it is but I know it only affects people who are afro-Caribbean.

I haven't seen her for a good few years. The girls were about 8 back then and they had both been ill at different times with it. It must be a concern for you as a mother because it may impact on Kyra if and when she wants to start a family. Hopefully there will be some progress made by the time she faces that.
