Unfortunatley, we will have to fly in on Southwest on the same morning we embark on 10/12/02.

Any suggestions on how early we will have to arrive?

Should we take the DCL shuttle or a limo?

Thanks for any suggestions!

The two times that we have cruised, we have flown in on the morning of embarkation. We take the earliest flight available in order to give ourselves some flexibility if any flights are cancelled. We arrive between 10AM and 11AM. We've used Tiffany Towncar to take us to/from the port both times (since there were 5 of us and it was less expensive that DCL transfers).

My wife is cruising in October with her mom and her aunt and they too will be flying in the morning of embarkation. This time they are going to use the DCL bus to get to/from the port. When Sue and I cruise again in November, we'll probably do the same (although I haven't yet made our airline reservations).

You'll be fine. You'll have plenty of time to get to the port. Lots of folks fly in the day of embarkation. Have a great cruise.

Prior to 9/11, we always flew in the morning of embarkation (now we have switched to the night before). Initially we used the Disney buses, but a couple of times we had to wait quite a while when we arrived later because there were so many other people waiting (once we had to wait for two busloads!). Then we switched to Happy Limo so that we knew we could leave for the port ASAP. That was especially handy the times the airlines bumped our flights to a little later...happened to us several times. I'll send pixie dust your way for clear weather and no flight delays. Believe it or not, even living in Chicago and often travelling in the winter, we have never had a significant delay heading for the ship (and only one coming back due to a snowstorm).
