I wish they would stop this FedEx nonsense! Every time they send something, they require a signature. Well, some of us have to WORK in order to pay our dues - so I'm not sitting home eating bonbons or planning future trips mid-day! First the AKV founders gift, and now the OKW extension thing. I have another FedEx tag on the kitchen counter - they tried today, nobody was home, will try again tomorrow, but someone would have be home to sign or they won't leave it.

How about giving ME the option to let them just leave it at the door??

Same thing here Sue. Fed Ex slip on my counter and will try tomorrow. Working all day tomorrow and DH has a doctor's appt and you know that is when Fed Ex will show up.

The pick-up office is no way near us.

Ours arrived in MA today. FedEx came at about 5:55 pm here. Rang the heck out of the front doorbell like an impatient 5 year old.

I was lucky enough that my daughter had come home from college for the day because she had a doctor's appointment. She called me at work and asked what it was before she opened it...I had no idea...I had totally forgotten about the time capsule. So I very excitedly told her to open it, but she wouldn't do it. She thought that my husband has ordered something for me as a surprise and she didn't want to ruin it!!! I finally told her to call and ask him and then call me back. She called me back a few minutes later to tell me what it was. I really like it and it is sitting on my mantle right now.

Nothing here in CT. Question - Have all of you that have received the gift paid for your extension in full? We have been paying it off over the year and have just a payment or two left to go. Perhaps that's why we haven't received the lighthouse. If that's not it I"ll have to give MS a call.

I did the one year interest free finance deal with a deferred start until March 2009 and mine arrived fine. MA was one day later than some other places. They come from GA, so who knows how FedEx routes the shipments.

First, please don't generalize about those of us who stay home.

Second, you do have the option to let them just leave it at the door. You just have to set it up with FedEx. We did this several years ago (because, although I am fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home-mom, I am often not at home during the day) and we've never had a problem.

Yes, you can set this up with FedEx. Be aware, though, that it will be a blanket authorization...allowing them to leave packages without a signature at any time from that point forward.
