We just booked 7 day cruise using points for adults and paying cash for 2 kids. They only took VISA or MC. Anyone know why they do not take American Express card? I read on the cruiseline board that you get some extras with the Amex. card?

Hi Treloaf. The "extras" that you receive from using Amex for your cruise, are only available when you use the card to pay for the entire cruise. For example, if you were cruising totally on cash and paid your deposit with Amex, you would need to also pay the balance with Amex to receive the extras. When you book on points, you are using points that MS transfers as payment, so paying partially with Amex would not be sufficient. I wouldn't worry...you can still take the bridge tour without Amex and the float and snorkle rentals are not priced prohibitively either. Just a couple of little perks.
