wow i'll trade you! =)
I checked DH's email when I saw you got this (as I do every time I hear someone got a new code)...and I was shocked when I saw he had an offer!

Except when I looked at it, it was for $735/adult at values for 5 nights/5 days in the first time frame you listed, and $763/adult for the second, with no mention of the $500 gift card...the only difference was an addition of "kids 3-9 stay, play and eat free"

which would be great, except we don't have kids.

I priced it out for my brother (who has a 5 yo) to see if it would help our trip in June, and it would save about $200 over rack rate for he and his fiance and their son to use, except we booked the 4/3 deal that's saving about $750 at the moderates (where we'd rather stay anyways). :headache:

I'll call tomorrow to see if I can get anything better...but I think it's amusing we got similar offers at the same time with one having a drastically better deal!

hmm, i actually looked at it again and mine includes dining plan...so over 5 nights that's close to the $200. You're getting a $500 gift card; I was getting kids for free, but it's not as drastically different a deal as I thought!

What's silly about it, though, is that it's not actually a savings - it's pretty much the rack rate price for what you get. The *only* savings is the $500 gift card for you, or the kids stay/eat/play free for me. And particularly since I don't have kids, and disney knows that based on all of the surveys and market research I very happily complete for them before, during, and after every trip I go on, this kind of irritates me that they would send this.

I know they're not trying to lure repeat visitors like myself back; they're trying to get new people to come down that think they're getting a great deal. And also if I had 2 kids, this really WOULD be a decent savings. But argh, I hate getting my hopes up for nothing.

My very first pin code:cool1:

My son is not a big eater, so the $500 gift will work just as good as free dining for us.

I also received the $500 gift card offer of either $535 or $563 per adult for 5 nights at a value, including tickets.

So here is my question; can you use it to pay for your room? My guess is no, since you have to make final payment 45 days in advance and you don't receive the gift card until check-in. This offer would be great if you were planning another trip on the dates it is available

It appears that this is Disneys way of offering free dining. In our case that is how we would use the gift card.

This doesn't sound like that great a deal to me. If it is $535 per adult at a value resort for April 19th- May 21st...that is $1070. A value resort during that time period is $105 per night for Sunday - Thursday and $115 per night Friday and Saturday. So if it were for 5 nights Sunday - Thursday the resort cost would be $593 for 2 adults. They are charging $1070 minus the $500 gift card and your cost is $570. That's only a $23 savings. AAA gives a better discount than that.

Oops forgot about the tickets :) I guess it is a pretty good deal! I have an annual pass so I always forget about the tickets..sorry about that.

Just received it--I have a question:

The PIN says $563 per adult for a 5-night stay X 4 adults in my family= $2252 - $500 gift card = $1752

OTOH, I can stay at SOG for 5 nights @ $130/night = $650 + 4 5-day tickets purchased @ SOG for $218 each = $872, for total price of $1522.

So I think I can still stay at SOG for $230 cheaper than the PIN deal. I'm not looking down my nose at a PIN, just trying to figure out which is the best deal for our family. Someone please check my math and tell me if I'm missing something.

I got the free dining one. I would prefer this one over free dining, however.

My daughter is not a big eater, but we can do some real damage shopping. LOL

That is PER adult based on DOUBLE occupancy. So you'd pay for 2 at the 563.00 per adult and the other 2 adults are probably added on at 10.00 per person.

Actually, this is a pretty good deal.

535 X 2 = $1070 - $500 = $570.

For $570 you get:

2 5 day tickets worth ($236.43 X 2) $472.86

5 nights at value resort worth $561 (added tax to that)

Grand total $1034.61 for a cost of $535. Good deal!

Having an AP, I would add plusses and another day and non-exp to those tickets (if they let me!)

Check my math! I may be all wet here!:thumbsup2

I agree with you. I've run the numbers a few different ways this morning (I got the pin too!).... and any way I cut it, $550'ish for 5 nights including tickets is a GOOD deal.

I even factored in what the cost would be if I added the dining package, and I'm still over $200 cash ahead!

Wasn't planning on a spring trip, but it's hard to not consider it with this deal!

I THOUGHT I had gotten this same pin code offer for the $500 gift card, in fact it came to my email address at work BUT...for some reason Disney has screwed up my friend's email address and the only thing I can think of is last year I booked a cruise for my family and her family but gave her information separate. ANYWAY, they emailed me the offer but it's in her name so my travel agent said they won't let me use it.... I'm glad I can send it to my friend if she wants to use it but when I get off work today I'll be on the phone with Disney raising cane that they did this...I was looking at adding an extra trip in June because of this deal and then they pulled the rug out from under me...:sad2:
Anyone else every had this problem? I work in Direct Marketing at a casino so I'm fully aware that this happens BUT I also know that we honor a deal if it's our mistake...

We also got this PIN and are considering taking up the offer. Mother, myself (23), younger brother (16). We figure that 4 nights at POP, non-hopper tickets for the three of us will be $1200, the $500 gift card can buy all of our food for the five days easily.. and we won't feel guilty about eating at some of the more expensive places.

Are there any restaurants that don't accept a Disney gift card as payment?

Ohhh I just thought, my brother's birthday is June 2nd, so we can get more free goodies.

:yay:

If we do this (we are tenativly at Dixie Landings), we will add another day,the non-exp and 6 plusses for an extra $138, which is a great deal. We never go into the parks every day, plus with an AP, we can put these tickets into our "stash".

I agree. It is a tough one. As much as I love Dixie Landings, it is a chunk of change extra to stay there. In fact, it is just $120 or so extra to stay at a value and add on the DDP.

I received the offer with the free dining, not the gift card. We have APs already, so we only had to buy a one-day ticket for each person in order to get the free dining for the whole stay. As someone already pointed out, these tickets will never expire. They can also be applied toward the cost of renewing the APs next year.

Disney travel has done this to me before - I have received snail mail with my friends name and my address because we travel together. One time I went to WDW without either of them and when I would get mailings concerning my reservation it would be addressed to one of my friends - I finally found someone that was able to remove their names from my account.

How does Disney issue the pins? Do they just randomly send them out or is there a pattern to their issuing. I am booked at the POP in April and I have heard of alot of people getting these pin's via email. I called and check with a CM and she said there was no pin attached to my name

With the $500 GC Promo, the price was $4663.06...so not a better deal at all.

My DD got the pin and we booked Pop tonight. For 2 adults and one child it came to $1327 for 5 nights and 5 days, (included tickets) and we get a $500 gift card that we can use for our food. It sounded like a great deal for us. We're going with another family, so I think 5 days will be plenty of time for us.

I agree. Same was true for us. We priced POP for the 5 nights and it was 90.00 more than a seven night at POP. But we do get the $500 and we can only do a 5 night anyways. This will work best for us. If you have a deluxe it is definitely a better deal to go for a longer stay as the discount is on the room.

By the way did you book the other family on the same PIN so they could get a $500 gift card? I was told by the CM that I could book up to three rooms with that code and each room would get the card. I don't think you have to stay at the same resort.

We did book two rooms on the same pin number. It's two separate packages, so each family gets the $500. gift card.

I have a question for you. I booked two rooms as well, 2 separate reservations on my $500 gift card pin.

I received two emails. Only one shows the $500 gift card. Do both of your reservations have the gift card listed?

I booked the pin deal for May 21-27 for my family of four, kids 6 and 8. I included the Dining plan and the total was $ 2282. Then we would have 500 to spend while we are there. The 4/3 deal is 2090 both at POP. I am still ahead 308 dollars by using the pin code. I think if you are wanting to stay at a more exoensive resort the 4/3 deal may be better but you would have to price it out through Disney. What does anyone else think and have you priced the more expensive resorts on the pin code.:confused3

I priced out 7-night trips using the 4+3 and the pin code (5/14-21). You are right...the savings are outstanding on the deluxe resorts. CR garden wing room would be $1783 for the 4+3 deal but $3667 using pin. 'Course you get the $500 gift card but that still makes it $1783 versus $3167.

On the other hand, ASM is $795 using 4+3 and $1134 with pin. Deduct the $500 gift card and it comes down to $634. $795 versus $634...better deal using pin code.

My friend found the gift card code in an pretty much unused email address, so we decided to go for Flower & Garden trip, April 24th thru 29th. :)

Booked POP, 5 ngts, 1 base tkt each for $755, then minus the $500 gift card comes to $255! We'll use the gift card for food and misc - which will be plenty for the two of us. ::yes::

Haven't been for Flower & Garden since 2005, so this was a good pin code. :hippie:

:woohoo:

What is the subject line of the Pin emails you all are getting? I want to make sure I"m not missing anything I've gotten from Disney. (I've gotten a lot of disney emails lately but nothing that was obviously (by subject) a discount. I might call to check on that!)

I also got one email (not a pin) that was just a notification of the regular 4/3 deal.

Thanks - Jackie

The pin codes always come from Disney Destinations, so that is one to be sure to check.

This one said the same as above:

subject: Amazing Disney Vacation Offer!

It goes on to give the number to call and pin code, small print etc. There is another version with same price, but offers free dining rather than the gift card.

Gift card works for us!:thumbsup2

I too received the pin code, it says $563 per adult, but how much is it extra for a 17 year old and an 11 year old? Are they also $563/person?

Never have I EVER gotten a pin code, and am pretty excited about it.

Is the $500 gift card only if you stay at a value resort?

Disney treats 10 year olds as adults.

I would call and check - for tkts and dining the 17 and 11 yr old would be considered adults, but not for the room.

Good luck!!:goodvibes

I really wish I could have gotten the free dining pin instead of the $500 giftcard pin. Oh well...maybe next time!
