Does anyone have one of these? My wife would like to start scrapbooking and has expressed an interest in it. She would like it as a X-Mas gift. I saw it at Meijer for $179.99 for one model and $299.00 for a newer model. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Jim, I'm going to move this to the scrapbook section cause tons of us have the Cricut. I have 2, the original model and the expression.
PrincessNancy96 got the newer small machine that has some of the features of the big bug.

How much space does she have?

The expression which is the big machine takes up a lot of room. If you can only go with the smaller machine, I would get the newer one because it has some features from the big machine.

The small ones are more portable, they all take the same cartridges and blades but the expression takes different mats.

I love my CREATE!!!! It allows me to do a lot more in the small amount of space that I have!!!!!

I have the smaller Cricut (the create) and I LOVE it!!! :love: As a PP stated, go to cricut.com to get descriptions of the machines plus they have tutorials for her to get started on how to use it.

I would go to CreativeXpress.com. They run specials and sales and I have seen them cheaper than the prices you stated. I got mine on there for $135 with free shipping and they always have specials on cartridges. I also buy cartridges through Ebay, their prices are pretty good as well.

You do not need more mats - use Zig glue and you can fix your mats like new again.
Just bought a Cricut (original one) and love it.;)
