We are thinking of going to Hilton Head for a week in either Dec. or Jan.
We have never been there and are just wondering what the weather is like. Can you swim in the pools (are they heated?). I am assuming the ocean is too cold. Are there alot of things that are closed down?
What about activities (dolphins, crabbing)and kid's programs, are they available?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Laurie

We have gone to HHI the last three Januarys.

In 1999 the temps were in the high 60's and low 70's and I played golf three times during the week.

In 2000 the temps were in the 40's and it snowed one day.

This year the temps were again in the 60's and 70's and I got to play golf several times.

I have the yearly averages on my website.

The pools are heated and so is the spa. There are still many activities, and I have a list of the Disney activities from last January on my site. The cruises are still on, but I would take one of the ones that won't get me wet. The beach is still wonderful for walking and shell hunting.
Some of the resturants have an off season schedule, but there are so many residents that they do not have to close down. All the shops are open, including the outlet center.

Any other questions just e-mail me.
