Noticed that Disney; as a result of the credit crunch, are offering 3 extra nights free if you book 4 :)

credit crunch? there are more factors than that impacting the situation... it boils down to a slowdown in advanced bookings for early to mid next year. also notice that they are not slapping on free dining but instead convincing you to extend your stay? isn't the 4th day for park tickets when each additional park day is an incremental cost of about $2? and doesn't 3 out of 7 free equate to about %40 off the price of the room? So more or less this is just getting folks to extend their stay, such that you will be spending money in the restaurants and gift shops, with very little incremental ticket cost, and a not unheard of level of room discount.

This is just a longer offering period than usual for such a discount.

Exactly! I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but they are just giving you something that would most likely just remain empty due to the poor economy -- the rooms. For free dining, there would be a lot of incremental costs, extra food, personnel to cook it, serve it, etc. This way, they are just giving you something they already have -- rooms. And like WO mentioned, the incremental ticket cost is negligible, and definitely not on par with the cost of free dining. Those who may have scaled back their trips from seven days to four can now stay for seven, but they will also be spending for three extra days. I don't mean to sound ungrateful and it's great if you can take advantage, but I think there may be even better deals coming in the next month or two.

Well, I already had the days booked - and my marvelous Dreams Unlimited agent - MARLA - rebooked under this deal and saved me almost $1200 (and I got the extra night free- we were already staying - just didn't have the ticket for that day - was going to go to DTD. . .

So the deal was well worth it to me! And THANK YOU MARLA! The money I saved by you paying attention and getting me a better deal just paid for my flight for me and my family! woohoo!!!

I have to agree. I think it's a good deal if you were already planning to stay then and for close to that length of time. I'm not sure I'd book an extra trip just for the deal in part because of the length of stay required.

Count me as one of the select few that had no plans to visit but are now (POR). Still hoping they throw in some extra perks. Love the $200 gift card. Free dining would just be frickin' AWESOME though! :yay:

We were booked for our honeymoon in April 2009 at WL at full rack rate (was hoping for AP later). I took advantage of this new 4/3 deal and with our savings we moved over the the Polynesian! We saved $1100 off our room at the Poly which is actually $160 less than rack rate at WL. Without this discount we would have never been able to stay at our dream resort for our honeymoon!:yay: :yay: :cool2: :cool2:

not for nothing... but when you figure out the discount, is it coming up to about 40% off?

Wow! :thumbsup2 But, shouldn't Disney be doing something extra for it's employees as well?

There are travel agents :snooty: :scared: and then there are travel agents. :worship: Unfortunately, I've only had the former. (Note for bucket list: book a Disney Cruise with DU.)

DU is not the *only* travel agency specializing in Disney worth it's salt. I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE **********!
It is a newer, more boutique type of operation. I don't feel like I am one of a million clients as I did with DU. Kris is really wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable and very easy to work with too. give her a try if you are looking to book sometime in the future: kris@*************** :thumbsup2

We are taking advantage of the ofer also. However, we were already booked for April 26th-May 3rd. So for our stay at POFQ we saved $600! Well worth it to us!:thumbsup2
