We are flying in on thanksgiving day and are now debating on adding on the disney dining plan for just thanksgiving day.

We do have separate reservations, 1 day at SSR for thanksgiving, then 2 days at WL, then disney cruise, then 2 days back at SSR, so from what i read, we could add it to our SSR reservation for the 1 day only.

We do have the Disney Dining Experience card which gives 20% off, but cant be used on thanksgiving day.

We have reservations at Cape May Cafe Buffet for thanksgiving dinner, and from what ive heard, the prices will go up for holiday time.

We were thinking, we can use it at say cosmic rays for lunch that day or beaches and cream, then at cape may for dinner, is that correct, and by paying 37.99 for the DDP, we should come out ahead that day, is that correct, or did i read how to use it incorrectly??

Let me know what is the best way to use it or not.

thanks

From what I know about the DDP that should work as long as you have park tickets for at least one day. The credits will be available from the time you check in at SSR until midnight on the day you check out. You would get 1 TS (good for your Thanksgiving dinner), 1 CS meal, and 1 snack per person.

FYI Beaches and Cream is a TS restaurant so you could not use your CS credit there. Cosmic Rays would work.

As long as they are separate reservations and you are within the time frame to add dining I don't see why you couldn't add dining for that day. Not sure if you are using points or if you have a room only reservation. If you booked a room only reservation you will have to add at least 1 day worth of MYW tickets and it will become a package.

Certain meals will be subject to holiday pricing 11/22 to 11/29, Cape May included, so the normal 26.99 per adult will go up. Beaches and Cream is considered a table service not counter service, and I think the to-go window only serves ice cream and drinks.

Have fun.

I would book the deluxe for the one day! Then plan a dinner on the night you arrive and a breakfast/lunch and dinner on the next day. You can keep using your credits even after you check out - until 12pm of your checkout day. Yeah it's $70 per person BUT that would cover 2 days of eatings. Plus you get the mugs and 2 snacks

If you have a package booking (room and tickets) for one night, you can add DDP to that package.

If you are a DVC member staying for one night on points, you can add DDP for that one night.

There's a 3 night minimum stay for free dining, but not for paid DDP.
