DPP vs CL or both?

I'm hopeful you DPP experts can help us out. DH and I are brain dead planning our trip in June!

We would like to get the DPP plan. But we are also considering upgrading to CL because of the snacks/drinks/hot food/beer&wine. We plan on going into the parks in the early morning, then coming back to our resort to hang out by the pool and relax until the heat dies down, and then back to the parks.

Because we expect to spend so much time in the resort, CL sounds like it may work better for us, and maybe pay for other meals OOP. But we also know we want to do some TS meals, character meals, and there will likely be times we'll just want the convenience of eating in the parks.

But if we're at the resort for the afternoon, wouldn't CL be a good option? Plus DH wants an afternoon beer, and I would love a glass of wine....we'll be at the park for 7 nights, so this is all starting to add up. :p

We have done CL with a meal plan and found it too be way too much food for us. In fact, we have found we don't like the meal plans at all. So we prefer to stay CL and just pay OOP for any meals we choose to eat out. We are not breakfast eaters so grabbing a piece of fruit from the lounge in the morning is plenty for us. On the days my husband golfs in the morning, we eat in the club for lunch and do dinner out. On his non golf days, we eat lunch out and enjoy the lounge in the evenings.

We are not people who are at park at rope drop and march through the parks all day. A few hours a day in the parks are plenty for us as we also enjoy our times at the resorts.

Thanks for your thoughts. We haven't decided if we are going to spend the majority of time in the parks or resort hopping. Good to know it seems cost efficient to have CL.
