:cool1: I found this deal today with AirTran www.airtran.com out of Rochester which is only an hour from Buffalo for March Break. I know my kids have no school on the friday but leaving on the Sunday and returning Monday looks like a good deal especially for March Break. The total is $165.00 including taxes and both are non-stop flights as well.

That's a great price for March break. Two years ago, I paid $650 for 1 roundtrip ticket on Air Canada from YYZ to Orlando during March break. It's worth the drive to Buffalo and Rochester to save big bucks.

Hi Disney fans
I was wondering...is it cheaper to fly or drive to Orlando during March 2009 break? I am in the Toronto area.

I don't know about other areas but here the kids no longer get the friday off before march break, plus it's a week later this year coming.

How many people are traveling in your group ?

Driving is usually cheaper no matter how you slice it if you have three or more people.
With that said you need to invest 2 days of driving there and 2 days back.

Flying takes at least 8 hours from your home to your hotel. So calculate a day there and a day back.
In addition to flights factor in parking or a motel near the airport.
Don't forget a rental car. We like to have one even when staying on site.

Return GTA to Orlando in a mini van fuel, food, tolls with 2 motels on the road is about $600-$700.

Input your info into the following link. Closest US city tit he GTA is Buffalo, NY.

It is faster by about 2 hours to go via Buffalo and down through Pittsburgh and West Virginia but CAA does recommend I75 via Windsor during the winter. You can hit some serious snow through the mountains of West Virginia. Luckily when we drove that route a few years ago it wasn't too bad since we just hit a bit of snow.
