I know the majority of owners on this board sell the points they don't use for the year (and other reasons). I noticed that you only rent points for the Vacation resorts are you allowed to rent the points at the moderate resorts to others? I know that you can use your points if you choose at other resorts besides the vacation clubs (poly, ect...)

Renting points for a non-DVC resort would not be a good deal at all for the renter. If you figure $10 per point for most rental transactions, you'd be paying a fair amount over rack rate for the room. It can of course be done, but there's no market for such a transaction because it's such a bad deal.

There's also a $95 fee for booking outside of the DVC system, which makes it an even worse deal.

I used points for a moderate resort for 1 night one time last year because DVC resorts were soldout. Points were high but I had extra available. Now, they would charge $95 on top of it. No way it would be worth it, I could have got an AP rate for around $125.
