TR for Our Halloween Cruise

This trip started like all others. Me making plans for months, reading this board everyday, several times a day. We were so excited to do a Halloween cruise . Halloween has always been a big deal to us so we thought this was and ideal trip for us to take.

We started out on Oct 29 leaving mid day after the kids had been accounted for at school , so that is one day less they would be absent. We drove from Va to St. Augustine Fl before we stopped for the night. We stayed right off 95 so it was quick and convient. We stayed in a Comfort Suites Inn, it was really nice but truly we only wanted to lay our heads down so we could start bright and early in the morning and get on our ship!!

Thursday Oct 30 we woke up and grabbed a quick bite at the free breakfast and hit the road by 7 am , hind sight a little too early because we reached Port Canaveral in no time we were there by 9:30.

Well as you know now it is just the waiting game. But the boys were very excited and looking all around at everything so time went really fast. First thing when we arrived I met Laurie and her husband John in line. We had been talking for weeks on line so it was really nice to put a face to the name. They were the nicest couple. we ran into them several other times during the cruise. It was wanderful geting to know some new friends.

Well as we waitied we went out to check out our Ship, boy is she a beauty.

As we waited everyones favorite Pal came out to visit. My DS4 was so excited he had to grab his nose. Of course sweet Mickey did not mind.

Then it seemed no time Mickey's best pal came for a visit PLUTO!!!!. He looked so adorable in his sailer suit.

But in no time it was time to board. We were standing in the front talking to a CM so we were one of the very first ones to get through :banana:

Sorry I have been so busy getting back into normal life I have not been able to post.

Once we left Parrot Cay we headed straight for the Mickey Pool. My boys were so excited to hit the water because when we left home we had frost and all hope of swimming was gone. They basically had the pool to their selves which thrilled them.

Well then of course they had to try out the Goofy Pool. They were so excited to swim they were not even worried about seeing anything else on the ship but me on the other hand left them with dad and had to run off to explore. And of course photograph everything, as you can tell me and my camera are barely apart.

Soon I after I ran to check out the room and see if our stuff had arrived. i mailed a package for the FE exchange and was very nervous it might not show but when I got there everything except luggage had arrived. We had ordered my DS11 turning 12 on board the birthday package which included a cake some decroations and the birthday box. Plus we ardered both boys Halloween baskets from Shirley , they were awesome!!! Here are some photos before the boys came back.

When time was getting closer and the boys needed to come to the room to get ready for the safety drill I had to go drag them from the pool area. But believe me once they arrived in the room they were so glad I did. Glen Allen had what I call a weekend long birthday everytime we turned around it was another surprise so this was just the begining. Looked how excited he was when he first walked in!!!

Well first off it took us forever to find out where we were suppose to be we kept walking in circles looking for our letter R Come to find out we were suppose to be in Animators Palate ok that was weird my Husband started freaking saying if we needed a boat they would be gone by the time we got out:rotfl: Poor thing he stresses a little now and then
Well now all that fun is over the real FUN begins the Sail Away party. I love the sound of the horn. The characters look so cute all decked out and of Course Glen Allen got his groove on after all he is celebrating the preteens this weekend so why not party

The sunsets and sunrises on a cruise are amazing. I could not believe how beautiful last cruise it rained and it was cloudy the whole time so we never got this perk. So it was exceptionally beautiful for us this time.

We were placed in the 2nd seating which did not make us very happy because we had the same last time and my younest DS slept through dinner EVERY night. So we were very hopeful this time because he is older and he was still awake when we arrived.Well needless to say it did not last. He was asleep before they could bring the drinks to the table. Poor baby he was so worn out from all his partying! And of course swimming didn't help either!

As I woke up on our first morning on the Wonder ( at 4:45 am) I was so excited I could bust! So I slipped out letting, letting my husband know of course, and explored the ship while the natives were sound asleep. It was so peaceful I felt as if I were on the ship alone. So of course camera in hand I took all kinds of photos of the lonely sleeping ship.

Before long I returned quitely to my room and grabbed my FE gifts and decided while everyone was sleeping and nothing was going on this would be a great time to do some deliveries. I enjoyed this so much exploring the ship. I highly recommend it to anyone whom is an early bird like myself. I got to see some of the most beautiful sun rises. It was one of the greatest gifts from this cruise.

Being a full time stay at home mom you really cherish these quiet moments in life. As I returned to the room for a secound time I found my sleeping angels. If only they could love each other this much when they were awake.

We had a full day ahead of with being in nassau and doing the Blackbeard Stingray Swimming adventure and it being Halloween and Pirate night made it a very busy and productive day.

Before we disemabrked off the ship to our first destination we got to make a few stops with a few Disney friends. The first was Alice but only my youngest DS would get in this one. It was so adorable he was smitten right away. Can you see the love!

Next up was Captain Hook and Wendy. Now we got to see Peter Pan and Wendy last time. But my youngest never got to see Captain Hook before so he was so excited. Needless to say my oldest got in on this action to this time.

Now it's off to BlackBeards Island. We are going to swim with the sstingrays. This was our first experince so we didn't really know what to expect only what we had read here on the board.We enjoyed it but it is probably not anything we would ever do again, king of been there done that. My boys were a little thrown by the slimmy feeling. They wanted to swim on the other side so after about 20 minutes we moved on to the regular beach

Well i am sorry to say this is the part of the cruise we were most unhappy with. But that is partly due to the fact we had built it up so much in our minds so we were let down. We thought ok Disney has to do something really great for Halloween, I mean this is Disney , I know what a big deal they make at WDW and I know Halloween is not a "holiday" but I really expected a little more but it was ok. We got back early so the kids could dress and get ready for trick or treating. Which was slim pickings, no kids do not need tons of candy but one or two pieces per child is a joke I thought from disney being it was the cheap stuff too. But I know this is a soar subject for some so I will press on here are the pics from the trick or treating trail which was about 10 stops and everyone had the same costumes red graduation cap and gowns.

This quickly came to an end and it was on to pirate night. That was a reason I guess they did not do much for Halloween. This the kids really looked forward too and this time we had to do what ever to keep Jimmy awake so he does not miss out again. And we did we grabbed a quick bite to eat at beach blanket
