Day 3 - Drink Story Mania...

...welcome intrepid travellers. Today we are off to Disney Hollywood Studios, or whatever it is called now!

Now, this is more like it as there are bars we can enjoy at the park as opposed to the MK.

We arrive at the Studios at around 9.30, and it is very chilly today, still overcast and although the weather chappies say it is going to break (and us willing it to happen) it never does break and remains grey and cloudy all day keeping the temperatures suppressed.

We decide to go to the new Toy Story ride to get some fastpasses and to see what the standby time is - well it is clearly popular, fastpass return is 2.10-3.10 and there is a 70min wait!

So all fastpassed up, we head off for a wander around the park. As per norm we don't do any rides, and just wander around taking pictures, which is good as the "backside" of the park is very quiet at the moment. A mooch around some shops and we elect to go to Mama Melrose for lunch and book for 12.55. We find ourselves around the Beauty and the Beast show at 11am and they have just opened the auditorium, and as Deb wants to watch this we go and find ourselves a seat and settle down for the show.

Whilst waiting we discuss where to dine this evening and decide to take a trip to the Tommy Bahama Cafe at the Pointe.

The show is actually very good and well worth watching I think - it is years since we last saw it. After the show we have a wander around some shopsto try and find Deb a top, as she's cold, but to no avail. We then make our way slowly across to Mama Melrose. A pleasant lunch - nothing to write home about but nice nonetheless, lunch being accompanied by a glass of Chianti for me and Chardonnay for Deb.

After lunch we go and use our fastpasses to ride Toy Story, the standby time is now up to 130mins:scared1: This is a really good ride and I think appeals to all age groups, there is some problem with my "gun" though and I mention this to a CM who says she'll get us back on the ride again straightaway, which she does - so 2 back to back goes is pretty good (albeit my first go was a bit lame) - as with all these sort of rides I beat Deb:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :rotfl: After our ride we stroll back to BWV, as we want a little rest before the effort involved in going out eating and drinking!

We relax with a Negro for me and a glass of wine for Deb and slowly but surely get ourselves ready to go out. We arrive t Tommy Bahama at something like 5.30/5.45. After a quick look around the shop we settle at the bar, enjoying a cocktail each - can't remember quite what mine was, but think Deb has some kind of Mojito. During dinner, which consists of a couple of fabulous cups of soup/bisque and steaks, I have a blond beer and Deb another cocktail. We get talking to a couple of guys at the bar who are in town for a national realtor show - I think they must be the only 2 left in the country:confused3 and they offer to buy us a drink, so another cocktail for Deb.

After we are all finished we head back to the Boardwalk and decide to spend some time in the Belle Vue lounge for a couple of drinkies. We spend a very pleasant couple of hours sat at the bar chatting to the barman and various people - the longest chat being with a couple from New Jersey. A nice couple and we chat about a lot of various things (surprisingly for me, we don't get on to politics - although the health service does come up as the woman is just finishing her midwifery course), and for the second time of the evening we get some drinks bought for us by them - I obviously have a needy face or something!

From memory, I have a few bourbons, a Manhattan and a few beers. Deb's slowed down a trifle and she has a Sidecar, a glass of wine and an old fashioned.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Matt, one of your true talents is getting people to buy you drinks. You manage it at every turn.

Here's an idea that would translate into a considerable savings when you're on holiday. As you're chatting to those friendly bartenders convince them that Disney needs to start a rewards card program--punch your card each time you buy a drink, then give you a free drink for every 5 drinks bought. You and Debbie would save a small fortune.

Enjoying the many photos and especially happy to see you managed to get a shot of the two of you together. Take more of those. The next ones, taken at Mama Melrose, are very good of you both and a rare full on smile from you. I like the Twilight Zone quality of the background in yours.

Keep up the good work with your TR on the Fly.

I was wondering about what type of clothes you need to wear in WDW when going in Novemember or December. At least all the drinks can keep you warm
