I was once on a small hopper plane with Ice T and his wife Coco and entourage. No lie, she looked like this, only I think it was the pants part of this suit :rotfl2:

I was sure we were going to crash...aren't they always the planes that fall from the sky? Well, we landed just fine, and that is my brush with greatness...

Not me, but my sister was in Zapped with Scott Baio. Many years ago.
When I was in CA for a visit with my now husband, we saw a few people. Never bothered them, just watched from afar.

I was in the same restaurant as Rachel Ray when she was filming one of her Tasty Travels or $40 a Day episodes in Washington DC. Didn't actually "meet" her though.

If you know drag racing, I met Joe Amato when I was young adult. He thought I was Laura Dern. :rotfl2: I don't look much like her anymore.

I met Reggie White, football player for the Eagles. I was a senior in high school. I was at the mall with my boyfriend. Specifically, I was shopping in Victoria's Secret. Boyfriend waited outside since he was too embarassed to come into the store. I met Reggie White in the store, which was kind of weird -- boyfriend was crazy mad that he missed out on meeting him.
Oh, and I've met Mickey Mouse too. He's kind of famous:thumbsup2

In college, I was in FCA with Peyton Manning. Go Colts!!!
I have to admit, Deb, I'm totally jealous of the Ice-T thing! I am addicted to "Law & Order:SVU" because of him!! His wife is a little scary. . .but maybe the pants part of that suit photographs better! :rotfl:

Yes. I live in an area where celebrities visit, and we respect their privacy. When I was a child, I met Bing Crosby, Tom Selleck, and Andy Williams, to name a few.
A few years ago, we were at WDW. We rode Jungle Cruise, and DH jumped off as soon as the boat was docked. I was stuck in a clump of people trying to get off. A very nice gentleman in a dark blue polo shirt with US SENATE embroidered on it in discreet letters helped me off of the boat. I thanked him, and hustled in the direction DH had gone. A minute later, it hit me. The gentleman was former Senator Fred Thompson!

It was surreal...however it was before his TV thing, he was still just a rapper. We hopped from Tallahassee to NC. They all sat in the back of the plane. When we landed, I looked back there, and they were all sleeping on eachother...my first thought was they looked like puppies

I got to shake Scott Baio's hand. We were at the Detroit Auto Show and he was one of the celebrities there. Friend and I waited in line to get an auto, but the line was too long. Instead we waited on the side so when he took a break he would see us. When he left he shook both of our hands. I was in heaven. Of course, I was 12 at the time.

Well, lets see... I went to college w/ Steve Alford... Yep, even knew of him in high school because he was from a rival team... (now coach for Iowa).. Most importantly, I meet Bobby Knight while at college!
I knew several of the IU basketball players from late 80s & early 90s...
Tony Stewart use to do midget car racing in my hometown!
I personally am not a person or will even let me kids bother famous people when they are out.. especially with their children... it's their time... if they want to meet & greet they'd had a big press release about it!!
OOH!! DS and I got to meet the First Lady of Indiana last year when his class won the I Love to Read Challenge.. as well as 2 local news anchors!
Oh, I was in 4th grade or so when I meet Governor Otis Bowen! LOL I thought I was really cool that day!!!
I also meet Ruthie Bayh (Senator Evan Bayh's of Indiana) wife at a festival!

I have met plenty of famous Christian authors at a conference I go to every summer. They have plenty of authors and muicians i meet. The most famous people I have met there are Chuck Noris, Oliver North, Ben Stein, and Max Lucado. Except for there i don't even think about it. I could sit next to a celebrate on a plane and unless they told me I wouldn't even notice. I am just oblivious to that stuff.

I met Bruce Springsteen while living in Jersey. He lived in the same town so we would see him all the time. I met Jon Bon Jovi when I worked at TDS. His son wanted to be a Dalmation for Halloween the year it was really big. (What a good looking man). I also met Michael Eisner while working the grand opening of the 5th ave TDS. Talk about tall!! Oh and he was with Morgan Fairchild, although I didn't "meet" her.

I met Jonathan Lipnicki on a back lot in California. It was right after Jerry Maguire, so he was still that cute little boy.
Although I never technically met her, Heather Locklear bought my Uncle's house in California.

I used to write for a music magazine so I've interviewed dozens of bands, sometimes when they were at number 1 in the charts. Funniest one was HIM, we had to walk past hundreds of teenagers who were hanging around the back door waiting for them to come out, I've never received so many death stares as I did when they let us in and not the teens!
My sister met Tom Baker (Dr Who at the time) when she was 7, he scared the life out of her! My dad flat shared with Fleetwood Mac when he was at uni and my mum stood next to Jimi Hendrix at a bar.

I haven't, but my sister went to school with Johnny Depp! She said he was cool but never thought he'd become who he is today.
My brother met John Elway through a charity program he worked with in Denver.
I meet Tim Curry ( ) at the premier of Spamalot (a Monty Python Broadway show)! It was amazing! I was in heaven. :cloud9: You might remember him from "Clue" and "Rocky Horror Picture Show". If you have any teenagers, you also might remember him from The Wild Thornberry's. He was Nigel Thornberry.
Okay, I know waay too much about Tim Curry. :rotfl2:

My sister knows Tim Robbins ans Susan Sarandon because they live in the same town and their kids were on the same little league team.
My daughters and I met Johnny Damon when he was a good guy on the Red Sox! We met him in Baltimore at the hotel when we were there to see games in Camden Yard.

I met Henry Winkler when I worked at Six Flags over Georgia in the mid 70's. He was shorter than I thought he'd be! He wanted to feed the porpoises.
My cousin did! She and her DH knew Chip Carter from college (Univ of Ga.) When Chip's dad was President, they went thru DC helping a friend move. They spent the weekend in the White House. My cousin & her DH spent the weekend in the Lincoln bedroom! The best part was they pulled up in the circular drive in front of the White House in a station wagon pulling a U-Haul trailer. Secret Service had a fit and had them pull around back - because of how it looked in the front! :rotfl2:
Still in the 70's, In Delaware, I was approached by this guy while I was waiting for my then fiancee (didn't marry him! :thumbsup2 ) to get off work at a fitness club. He flirted with me and tried to get me to join the fitness club. (I went for free because of then DBF.) He kept flirting and I didn't give him the time of day. My then DBF told me that guy was Randy White of the Dallas Cowboys. He worked out at that fitness club during the off-season. And I was a huge Cowboy fan at the time. I didn't recognize him without the #54 shirt and a helmet! :rotfl2:
In Atlanta, a coworker had a crush on one of the Falcon players. His roommate was injured and hospitalized. She saw that was a way to meet her crush. She talked me into going to the hospital to cheer up Mr. Wonderful's roommate. We met them both and several other players who went to visit. We developed a friendship with Mr. Wonderful and injured roomie. Turned out Mr. Wonderful had a fiancee back home. I ended up cooking for them in exchange for game tickets. They had us over to their apt & injured player (then recovering) came over to mine to watch movies during the off season.
When I lived in West Palm, I met some "known" people while working at Bank of America and spending Christmas with F. Lee Bailey's sister.
There have been several others, but as I have gotten to know them, they become less like celebrities and more like "regular" people. And I've found that most enjoy being appreciated for who they are out of the limelight.

Hilary Swank was a year ahead of me in school. We were both in gymnastics, and her best friend was one of my good friends in gymnastics.

Let's see...
Sandra Bullock, she ate at my in-laws restaurant. She was so cool.
Lyle Lovett, he used to eat at my in-laws restaurant frequently. Super super nice guy, he remembered everyone's name.
George H.W. Bush, my in-laws restaurant catered a function when his library was opened here in Texas. I served Caroline Kennedy soup that night.
And a celebrity around my house- Colt McCoy, the Texas Longhorns quarterback is a personal friend of my brother-in-laws.
