I'm a punk and I like some goth music (I do not wear any make up) but I love psychobilly. So Kevin here you go!
Psychobilly: take punk rock, rock 'n' roll and country put it all together and that's the sound. The Psychobilly look is also punk/rock 'n' roll. They also use a double bass instead of an electric bass guitar. Finally the Psycho part. The songs are generally about horror themes: aliens, zombies, monsters, you get the picture.
Examples of the bands include Tiger Army (who have actually recorded a song for Walt Disney records: a psychobilly version of Oogie Boogie's Song from the Nightmare Before Christmas), the Meteors, Mad Sin and the Nekromantix.

There you go Kevin, that's an explanation of Psychobilly.

Ha, forgot I was listening to an older podcast and got carried away with myself. Just searched the boards and there were tons of threads already explaining this better than I had.
I apologise for wasting board space.

I thought it was a lovely explanation - and vey timely considering that this weekend is Bat Day at Disneyland!!! :thumbsup2

It's also, ironically, Christmas Parade taping weekend!

Boggles the mind when you think about it..... :rotfl:

'wasted space' was the name of my punk band in HS back with punk was cool and all of the Ramones were alive. Later we changed the name to 'weeping lesion'

I loved the Ramones.

Still do.

One of the ring tones on my iphone is an old French punk song....Ca Plane Pour Moi.

BTW the_anarky_boy.......thanks for taking the time to tell me.

Info is never a waste of space

By Plastic Bertrand if I recall correctly. I think he was Belgian. :) I was never a punk fan, but that song got kinda stuck in your head. I preferred the kind of "mainstream punk" crossover acts like Blondie. God, showing my age now.
